Advantages: Protects hair?

Disadvantages: Doesn't make an amazing amount of difference

I have never been a big fan of Tresemme. In fact it is a brand that I don't particularly like and first hated when it came out a few years ago. Unfortunately this was nothing to do with the products but with those annoying adverts telling me that it was 'Professional & Affordable' and that all the best hair stylists used it. I've never seen any use it! Anyway one thing that is true about them is that they are affordable, cheap even, so every now and then I pick up a bottle up conditioner as my hair eats it and use it every few washes.

My hair has always been dry and frizzy - if I leave it to dry naturally it doesn't end up curly, I end up with an Afro! So to combat this I blow dry it and then straighten it daily which obviously makes it worse and therefore makes it an ever worsening circle! Doh! I decided it need a heat protection spray for my poor locks.
After looking around, I concluded that Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray was one of the cheapest ones on the market and duly picked it up.

The spray comes in a 300ml black plastic bottle with a spray trigger on top. It features the Tresemme logo at the top in white and tells you that it is 'used by professionals.' Below that it gives the name of the product 'Heat Defence Styling Spray,' and below that again are the words 'Professional Quality' & 'Smooth' in purple. Below again in white the blurb which states that it 'Helps protect from ceramic straightness, tongs and dryers. Reduces frizz, adds shine.' Certainly sounds promising!
On the back it tells us that it 'Contains a heat activated complex to help protect hair when drying and straightening' and 'Helps prevent hair becoming brittle and dull.' It also says that it gives natural hold.

I think the design of the bottle is quite sleek and the colours look quite professional. Simple but it does stand out on the shelf!
To use, you spray on damp hair, preferably not soaking wet and spray evenly. Then brush it through from the roots to ends. It recommends blow drying it for a smoother finish but if you are using it then that's probably what you're going to do!

It sprays well and doesn't leak anywhere. The liquid itself is clear and had a very pleasant fruity smell to it, almost 'fresh.' Important to me as I don't want my hair smell horrible all day! The liquid is just like water and doesn't make my hair feel sticky.
The most important thing to me with hair products is that it doesn't make my hair feel greasy. I am prone to greasy roots and I don't use many hair products as they just make me want to wash my hair again as soon as I have styled it which is honestly the last thing you want to do. Luckily this didn't occur when I used it, in fact my hair dried 100% normal which no adverse effects whatsoever.

The only question left to ask is did it do it's job? I find this a hard question to answer as I don't seem to notice much difference but I don't even with the more expensive hair protecting sprays. I suppose my hair is less frizzy and sometimes it's quite shiny but this could be due to the different combinations of shampoo and conditioners I use daily.
In conclusion I would recommend trying this product as it is so cheap. I do continue to use it as I like to think that I do have something protecting my hair from the damage I put it through!

You can buy a 300ml bottle for £3.89 from most supermarkets.
