Advantages: Lasts a long time, so good value for money, bearable smell, light even spray

Disadvantages: Can be sticky, makes the hair 'frazzle' when straightening, the spray can get on the floor/surfaces

After using this product for a long time (as the bottle lasts sooo long!), I couldn't face using it anymore. I have naturally very long, frizzy hair and so the discovery of GHDs was bitter sweet! One my hair was straightened, it was dry and brittle, especially the top layer. The adverts for the Tresemme Heat Defence spray were very convincing and it is a great price, so I gave it a go!

I really like the way the spray is very fine, it's almost like dusting your hair with product! The smell is fine but it is quite strong, so if like me you spray every strand before your run your straighteners along it, it can become quite powerful. In the end I grew sick of it.

I didn't favour this spray because it was quite sticky. I also hate the way the straighteners make a sizzling noise when gliding. It feels like the product just 'sat' on my hair rather than penetrating it or improving the condition. I also saw no results- it seems this does nothing more than 'protecting' the hair, whereas I didn't see this, and I also want some straightening and moisturising properties. Also, the spray was very wide so I could see a lot of product in the air, and so it fell on my dressing table and floor. In the end, to prove this, the bottle after a few months was very sticky and had a coating on it.

This product may be beneficial to some, but not for my dry hair.

Summary: Last so long you will get bored, not great for very dry hair
