I don't really straighten or blow dry my hair that much as I know how bad it can be for your hair! But if I am going out I do tend to straighten my hair or if I'm in a hurry to go out somewhere and my hair is wet I will get the ol' hairdryer out.

Tresemme is a salon quality range of hair styling products. The range includes the heat defence spray I'm reviewing here as well as shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, styling mousse, hair brushes, hair straighteners and curling tongs amongst other things.

The heat defence styling spray comes in a stylish black 300ml bottle with purple writing. It has a spray action top which you are able to "lock" using a sliding button on the side of the neck. This means you wont accidently spray it when its in a bag or something. The spray is aerosol free so is not harmful to the environment. The spray, surprisingly enough, is used to help protect your hair from damage from heat, it states on the side of the bottle it will protect your hair up to 230 degrees so it can be used with hair driers, straighteners and curling tongs. The spray is very easy to use, just unlock it and spray into your hair before you used a heated hair appliance. I tend to only use it when using my straighteners and I find it stops my hair getting so dry, its maybe less important for me to use it as I don't straighten my hair all that often, but if you are a regular user of heated hair appliances then you should definitely be protecting your hair. Unlike some other hairstyling products, such as hair spray, this heat defence spray has a really nice smell, in fact whenever I smell it I feel like going out (I generally only straighten my hair before a night out) weird how smells can bring on strong thoughts or emotions!

The tresemme heat defence spray is pretty widely available, I usually pick mine up in my local tescos and it costs around £5, I'd say that is too bad for such a well named brand. Overall I would definitely recommend this if you are a straightening addict especially, nothing as bad as horrible dry heat damaged hair!
