Tresemme Salon Finish Hairspray is my usual hairspray. It is has a hold rating of 4/5, which means it is quite long lasting even when curling hair. Tresemme is a very well-known brand and has a wide range of haircare products.
I bought my 500ml bottle for £2 from BodyCare. Due to it being such a well-known brand, I've found that buying it from supermarkets means often paying inflated prices (unless on offer). For £2, I've found that the can is extremely good value for money. Due to giving Extra Hold, it lasts the whole day with jsut a couple of sprays.
I don't normally use hairspray, only for when I'm going out or if I'm curling my hair. My current can has lasted me over 6 months and there's still some product left.
The design of the can is quite sleek and stylish and fits in with the general Tresemme image of black with coloured labels which descrbe the product.
The only problem I've found with this product is that excessive use can make the hair feel sticky. For example, when going on a night out, if I spray it onto my girls and also my roots when I backcomb, it can make my hair feel quite sticky to the touch when sprayed. Also, once it dries, my hair feels quite dry and almost brittle. The spray also weighs my hair down but that may just be down to the fact that I have quite long hair.
All in all, as long as it is not used excessively, this hairspray gives a good finish and long-lasting hold. It is extremely good value for money, especially if you can buy it on offer or from a place like BodyCare.
Whenever I curl my hair I like to fix it in place with hairspray because if I don't after a few hours the curls will just fall out and my hair will look lank and limp instead of looking curly and bouncy. The hairspray that I use at the moment is Tresemme salon finish extra hold. I actually chose this because it is advertised as a salon quality brand but was surprised to find that it was actually cheaper than my usual Elnette brand that I usually use. I had never bought it before because I always thought it would be too expensive but the 100ml can that I am using now cost just £1.89 in Boots compared to £2.50ish for the Elnette brand.
On the back of the can Tresemme write, "Our salon quality hairspray offers lasting extra firm hold so you can control your style all day long, even in damp or humid conditions. Fast drying formula brushes out easily and won't build up or flake."
I really like the way this hairspray holds my curls, they look natural and they move rather than being sticky and straw-like. THe hairspray really does work for quite a long time as I find at the end of the day I still have really nice curls. They may not be as curly as they were in the beginning of the day but they are definitely still there and look nice. I don't always wash my hair everyday and when it comes to brushing it out their claim is definitely true, I can brush through this spray really easily like it's not even there.
What's more, this hairspray also has 24 hour climate control and humidity resistance which is great for me. I have such unfortunate hair that frizzes up in hot humid weather and also rainy weather so I can't win either way but with this on I do notice that my curls do not frizz as much as they would without hairspray.
The hairspray comes in a black 100ml can with a spray function aerosol at the top and a lid to keep it protected. It has quite a hairspray smell which isn't too bad and fades fairly soon after you have sprayed it on so it does not interfere with any perfume.
All in all, a good spray at a great price.
I don't use hairspray a lot but I do like to keep some in the house for when I want my hair to hold a style if I have curled it or put it up. I usually use Elnette but received a bottle of the Tresemme salon finish extra hold hairspray in a beauty box this month and immediately put it to the test as I had plaited my hair and had a few wispy bits at the front that needed spraying back.
The spray is packaged in a tin and is easy to use, you pull the lid off to reveal the nozzle and aim at wherever you want to hold your hair or a cloud if you're doing all over! I found it really fine to spray and not at all 'spitty' which some hairsprays can be like. It also didn't feel wet on your hair or if it gets a bit on your face which is important. The spray did its job, held my hair out of the way and brushed out later that night quite easily. It had a very light fragrance to it, quite pleasant actually but not too noticible and certainly not overpowering. The instructions advise using the hair spray in sections or for a stronger hold layer the hair spray exactly where you want more control.
I love this hair spray! It smells nice, feels light and doesn't make my hair knotted or matted and brushes out easily. I think I will actually use it more often than I usually do now as I was so pleased with the results. In the past I think hair spray can be considered quite old fashioned and heavy, giving 'helmet hair' which is definitely not the look I'm after. The brand Tresemme claims to be a salon brand and for this product I do actually agree that it is salon worthy.
A 500ml bottle is £4.69 and my bottle will last me ages as I only use a small amount but I suppose it depends on your style and usage as to how long a bottle lasts!
Definitely a repurchase for me. It is even resistant to humidity so ideal for using on holiday as well. I particularly like that it is fast drying and doesn't spit out at you from the bottle when you use it. The hair spray does not have an overbearing smell like my bottle of Elnette and is hard to detect on the hair so perfect for modern styles. Highly recommended.
I don't use Tresemme very often, I have however used their shampoo's on a fair few occasions and when I seen this hairspray for just £2 in my local Asda I decided to give it a try, especially when sprays of a similar size and brand are much more expensive. I went for the extra hold as sometimes I find that the firm hold sprays aren't strong enough to keep my hair in place for a long enough amount of time, I also preferred the pink label to the green one that came on the other can.
The spray comes in a can that is rather wide and quite heavy so this isn't one to use if you struggle to hold heavier items. The can is pure black with a splash of bright pink so it looks really sleek and stylish in my opinion, much better than the cheaper options I have used in the past. The top of the can has a black yet almost transparent plastic cap that fits snugly on the top of the can and I haven't found that the cap comes off or anything but then again I don't carry it around with me so it doesn't have to stand the handbag test.
On using the spray first of all the can is really heavy to start off with so it's worth bearing this in mind. The spray mechanism on my one seems to be a little stuck, when I push down on the spray a nice mist of the product is released but yet when I remove my finger of the push down button it continues to spray for a few seconds. It's not a huge deal because I just remove my finger before I normally would but even so it shouldn't be happening although it could just be the one can. The spray has a very strange smell to it and it always catches the back of my throat, it's almost like one of those old floral soaps that your granny had laying in the back of a drawer somewhere that was perfumed and soapy but it also has a very chemical touch to it in that gets in the back of your throat so that you can taste it, it's awful but as I have another can of it once the remainder of this one is done to use up I won't complain too much.
For the spray itself you can feel it almost sticking to your hair and it does make it feel slightly heavier than normal however after a few minutes I've forgotten all about it. The scent I am pleased to say disappears after a few minutes so you won't be left smelling of old lady soap the rest of the day. The spray does keep whatever style I have in place for a fair few hours round about 10-11 hours I find that bits that look almost like dead skin start flaking off, this has only happened when I have used this hairspray so I can categorically say this is what has been causing it. I also find that the spray brushes out very well when I need it to and it's not tough and sore to brush out which I quite like as it means that I don't have to wash my hair out after every time I have used this.
Overall i really like this hairspray, it works well, holds my hair in place and brushes out well however there are flaws such as the smell of the spray, the fact that it starts flaking after a few hours use. For £2 for 250ml I would definitely buy it again but I wouldn't want to pay the £3+ that is regularly charged.
My hair is very short but I have a longer fringe which I generally like to style up into a quiff-esque shape at the front. For day to day use I just brush it up but for nights out or occasions when I want to make an effort with my hairstyle, I use this hairspray to achieve the desired effect.
It's very simple to use and lasts a while. The bottle comes in a variety of sizes; I bought it in a relatively small size as I wasn't sure whether I would like it or use it regularly. I've been using it on an occasional basis for the last six or seven weeks.
In terms of giving me the style that I want, it works really well. It tends to last for a few hours, and so sometimes this isn't really long enough but generally I'm happy with the look of the effect it gives. It also washes out easily and doesn't leave nasty hairspray residue in my hair.
However, I'm quite fond of the softness of my hair after I've washed and dried it - the hairspray takes this away and makes it feel quite sticky. The stickiness tends to go away after a while but it makes it slightly unpleasant to touch for the first hour or so after application.
It is also relatively expensive compared to own brand versions available at Superdrug or Boots and I'm not sure that it deserves this extra price tag. I'm continuing to use the product as it does work, but I'm not completely blown away by it and when it runs out I'll probably try a different brand of hairspray.
I have very straight flat hair and a floppy fringe so I need hairspray to keep it in place and give my hair a bit of volume! I find it makes my hair stay exactly where I want and gives the rest of my hair a good volume boost! My hair does have a slight rough feeling to it afterwards but isn't sticky and it doesn't crunch and isn't at all noticeable. It's also very easy to brush out at the end of the day and doesn't leave any stiffness to your hair afterwards meaning my hair goes straight back to its annoying floppiness.
It has the usual hairspray smell but with a hint of that tresemme salon product smell and doesn't stay in your hair which is good, it just gases out your room, so obviously just close your eyes and don't inhale straight after spraying. Also I find I have a light coating of dried hairspray over everything in my room which is really annoying, you can't always see it but it feels slightly rough and you actually have to scrub some of the surfaces to get rid of it properly!
The only downsides I have with this is that after a lot of use the spray comes out in odd directions because the nozzle has been blocked up, this is easy to fix by just picking dried bits off.
I think I get through about a can every 2-3 months which is very good seeing as I use it atleast once, usually twice, a day. When I curl my hair for special nights out, I use a lot more and most of the curls stay in place, although do drop a little (but my hair is very straight and doesn't curl very well) through the night but what curls don't. This is also easy to brush out with a little extra force and the only kinks left in my hair are from hair straightners as you can feel there is no more spray in it. It can come out just by brushing your fingers through it a lot, which happens to when i try to reposition my fringe which is annoying but only happens because I can't stop touching it.
These cans are about £4 (less if you use smaller cans) which I think is pretty good as they do last a long time even if you use it a lot. I buy Tresemmes Hairspray 3 large cans at a time (3 for £9/£10).I wouldn't recommend buying a mini travel sized can, as they really don't last long at all, even for touch ups.
I have tried many different hairsprays in my time but Tresseme always comes out on top for me. I am a fan of Tresemme products and regularly use their shampoo and conditioner. Tresemme do a selection of hairsprays with a variety of different strengths. My favourite is Tresemme Salon Finish Extra hold. It is a 4/5 on the strength scale which is ideal for my thin hair that naturally has little volume. This hair spray is ideal for giving me more volume and texture.
The hairspray avertises itself as "fast drying" and "brushes out easily." I would definitely agree with these statements. It dries instantly which is great when getting ready with little time. Unlike lots of other hairsprays on the market, this one does brush out easily and doesn't leave your hair feeling and looking clogged up with hairspray. The hairspray stays in for the majority of the day, I wouldn't say it lasts for 24 hours though like it states on the bottle.
The Tresemme hairspray bottles are black with a white font which does look proffesional and modern. The coloured square distinguishes which hairspray it is and it's strength. I think this is a great way in showing the difference between all the different ones. The can is light and is a spray can with a lid which I feel works well. You do not have to put loads of it in your hair which means it lasts longer which is great.
Another thing I love about this hair spray is it is great for any hairstyle. I use it when my hair is down and I want some volume but also if it's up and I want it to stay. It is great whether you've got short hair or have it long. My friends with thick, curly hair also use it and get on really well so it's good for all different hair types.
You can buy this hairspray in three different sizes. The big bottle which is 500ml is around £5. This might sound a lot but it's definitely worth it and does last a long time. In most supermarkets this bottle is on an offer. A 250ml can is about £2.50 which is a obviously a lot slimmer and a bit more practical to carry around. You can also buy a small bottle which is 100ml and about £1.50. This bottle is fantastic to pop in your handbag and is really handy as you can take it anywhere.
I would definitely recommend this hairspray. Although it's a little bit more pricey than some brands on the market, it is definitely worth it. It feel and looks great and is fast drying too :)
I use this everyday on my hair, which, when it has been freshly washed, can be very "fly-away". It tames it right down, taking away any "fuzz". It lasts me for ages, even though I use a good spray of it every day. It doesn't leave any residue in your hair, and doesn't make it look as if your style is stuck on. You can brush it out if you haven't got your style quite right as well, and re-spray. Never had any funny reactions to it, and smells like something you would use in a salon (in fact, my hairdresser does use it on her clients!)
Professional looking spray can, and although I had one problem with one I bought - the spray thingee didn't work very well, but Sainsburys replaced it for me - never any other issues. They also come in small travel size cans, but I found after a while they leaked.
Doesn't dry out your hair, and works very well on straightened hair, again, allowing your style to move but not fall out.
I have tried many brands of hairspray in the past as I often have problems with my hair curling and losing straightness in all types of weather, especially when it is humid or in rain. This hairspray is currently the best I've found. I decided to try it once I discovered the wonders that Tresemme shampoo and conditioner did for my hair.
A light burst all around the circumference of my head seems to keep it behaving. I don't use this hairspray to retain a certain style, just to keep it's straightness after using straightening irons. I also often give an extra layer to my sweeping fringe if I want to keep it in place.
It's also great to use to add body, I spray a little on the tips of my fingers and run them upwards through my hair, and that often adds a little lift. This lift however isn't as long lasting. This hairspray seems to be better for keeping hair in check, rather than styling. However, I do have the "firm hold" version which I use when I curl my hair as it holds more complicated styles for a much longer period of time, it may also be much better at adding volume to the hair.
Treseme is a very good brand I've used their heat defence spray, shampoo and conditioner and they have all been good for my hair leaving it smelling nice. I find that the hairspray doesn't hold my hair as well as some brands such as shockwaves, silvikrin, elnett etc. I do spray an excessive amount of my hair as I have a long side fringe that I hate going in my eyes so need to use hairspray to hold it in place however it is good for short hair as my boyfriend loves it as it gives him a perfect hold. This hairspray however does smell very nice like the other products I have used in this brand, it also has a slight invisible look as some hairsprays' make your hair look crispy and a bit wet whereas this makes your hair look more natural. It also feels nice on my hair which is another bonus. It is good value for money as I got it on offer from Morrison's at £3 for the largest can of 500ml Whereas I have paid this before for that cans are half the size, the normal price of this product is £4.79 from Superdrug Overall it is a good product and I would use it again as I like the feel and the look of it, it could do to have a bit more hold but I could try using different strengths in this one.
I feel like I have used every single hairspray possible - it seems difficult to find a product that will actually hold your hair in place without making it rock hard. Does anyone else have this trouble?! Having a lot of long, thick hair doesn't help either as it is unmanageable at the best of times making it difficult to style, but after actually creating a style I like, keeping it there is another kettle of fish.
** WHO IS THE BRAND? **
For whose for haven't heard of, or are unaware of this brand, Tresemme, it aims to 'create salon quality products without the price tag' which is obviously a great use of marketing as my hair is always at its best after leaving the hair salon. Tresemme began in 1947 by Godefroy Manufacturing Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The brand name gives reference to Edna L. Emme who was then a leader and national spokesperson for the professional hair care industry. It used to be exclusively used in hair salons but it now widely available in high street stores such as Boots for very affordable prices, allowing us all to have absolutely gorgeous hair! They specialise in hair products and have a large range consisting of everything from shampoos to volumising products to hairspray.
** WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT? **
The Tresemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray is one of many hairsprays in their range, others of which focus on volume for example. Tresemme claim that this product 'refuses to let frizz take root' due to it having a humidity resistant formula that will allow you to 'keep flyaways smooth for 24 hours'. They also claim that it will 'hold your style' which is quite bold and commonly used amongst many other hairspray brands, which most of the time they appear unable to fulfill. This product has a water free formula so it gives 'hair grip and control without stickiness' which is quite a good unique selling point, as I have found many other products in the past have made my hair sticky and difficult to manage.
** WHY DID I CHOOSE IT? **
I have used other Tresemme hairsprays in the past such as Freeze Hold but I always found them too strong and they made my hair very inflexible and stiff which I didn't like. I then switched to other premium brands such as Bedhead by TIGI and purchased many of their products, but most of them were only purchased once, due to me finding it difficult to justify spending so much money on a hair product that didn't do anything particularly spectacular - just looked nice on my dressing table. I popped to Boots in hope of finding something a little cheaper that wouldn't mean I had to compromise on quality which I definitely didn't want to do. This stood out to me against others in the range as a 'salon finish' is essentially what I was looking for as I wanted to keep some flexibility and movement in my hair whilst keeping it in place.
** WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? **
This product comes in a bold looking black container that is of a similar shape to most other hairsprays on the market but this looks somewhat bulkier so the Tresemme range will definitely stand out to you. The top of the bottle is more of a dark grey colour that gets darker towards the bottom and it has a pink strip with the product name on it. Vertically, you will notice what I could only really describe as the aim of the product, which in this case says 'extra hold'. There is some other product information on the front such as the brand name and underneath it says 'used by professionals'. Towards the bottom of the bottle there are some of the products unique points i.e. 24 hour humidity resistance, as well as a 5 point rating scale stating the amount of hold this product gives, which is 4/5 on the bottle. There is also general product information such as shelf life, ingredients and directions for use. It has a removable lid that clicks on and off really easily and is quite sturdy. The dispenser is quite chunky so is easy to press and hold down allowing you to accurately dispense the product.
** WHERE CAN I GET IT AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? **
Tresemme are now widely available on the high street and are no longer marketed exclusively by hair salons. I tend to purchase my hair products from Boots nowadays, although only usually in order to get advantage card points! But Superdrug also stock their products as well as most of your normal supermarkets such as Asda and Sainsburys so you won't have any difficulty getting hold of it. If you prefer to purchase online you can go to one of the many websites that specialise in hair products, or if you are a bargain hunter Amazon and eBay might be worth a look! It comes in a 100ml version for a very reasionable £1, a 250ml version for £2.69 and a 500ml version for £4.79, so this product is certainly not a disaster in terms of price. In this instance, I am specifically reviewing the 250ml version as it was my first purchase of the product.
** DOES IT WORK? **
As I mentioned earlier, styling my hair can be such a pain especially when I'm in a rush so more often than not I just put it up to save myself time. In even this situation my hair will never stay put for very long so its essential I apply enough hairspray to hold it for most of the day at least. On the first use of this product, I purposely got up early so I could wash my hair and style it so the results would be specifically from this product and no other factors. After styling my hair I cautiously began to spray the product, noticing that is dispensed a very very fine mist onto my hair that dried immediately once it was on my hair and only a small amount was necessary to hold it. It gave a very even coverage and although I could feel I had hairspray on, my hair didn't feel hard and it still had the amount of movement I was hoping for. I could further style it while keeping it in place still. Throughout the day my hair seemed to stay in place pretty much as it was in the morning without going flat - it remained smooth. I have since used it in other ways such as to create volume my tipping my head upside down, spraying the product then scrunching my hair which works really well.
** WHAT DO I THINK? **
I am actually, much to my surprise, extremely pleased with this product and what it has to offer. I had struggled to find a product that was able to hold my hair without making it hard and this product managed to do that. With the added bonus of it being humidity resistant with a water free formula is also create as it means your hair will stay smooth and when the product is applied it dries onto your hair almost immediately. I found it brushes out with ease and doesn't make my hair tangled or leave any residue at all and similarly it washes out easily in the shower too. I am impressed that this hairspray allowed me to keep some movement in my hair as it didn't make it stiff so I was able to move/swish/restyle it throughout the day without too much effort which I haven't found in a product with this level of hold before. I wasn't overly keen on the smell which is quite strong and is typical of that hairspray smell but I didn't find it overpowering at all as it seems to settle into the hair rather quickly and luckily I found the smell didn't linger on my hair.
** OVERALL **
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone! It is great if you're looking for a decent level of hold on your hair to keep it in place but you don't want it to have that shiny, hard sort of look to it that gives the game away that you're wearing too much hairspray. You can keep flexibility in your hair while being able to have hold it in too. For those of you who, like me, have long and thick hair that is difficult to manager and keep in place I cannot recommend this product to you enough as it really does work wonders with keeping my hair in place all day and I no longer return home, look in the mirror and feel absolutely horrified that my hair looks dull, flat and lifeless. The Salon Finish hairspray allows me to keep bounciness all day long and keeps my hair looking fresh and styled. Without a doubt, 5/5 Dooyoo stars.
Many years ago I remember my Mum using a brand that she could only buy through the hairdresser himself, with her loving it so much she would stock pile it so she wouldn't run out.
Now however this brand has been brought out for public sale, and TRESemme now comes in many varieties and not just the gel spray that I remember my Mum using!
One of those types is the hairspray (which is the subject of this review), I have found since deciding to grow my hair, and whilst it is going through the "inbetween" stage, I have to have something strong enough to help me scrape it up into a ponytail and keep it there, not an easy feat!
After having a quick peruse around to see what was on offer, I found that a familiar range was on offer, not only had each product got a few pence knocked off the price, but if bought in bulk (three anyway!) you could get them all for £10.00, which at that times a saving of around £3.00.
This is much more than I would normally spend, but due to the size of each bottle/container, I really felt I was getting much more than I normally do for my money.
This hairspray comes (as does most of the rest of the range) in a black can with all the relevant information to be found on there.
Brand name, products name (extra hold hairspray for a salon finish), properties, volume of contents, and extensive directions for use.
To use you simply pull of the plastic cap and find beneath a well designed and chunky looking spray button, that once sprayed releases a fine mist of product, which in fairness is so fine can dry on the hair quite quickly, effectively freezing the style into place.
For how I use it this works perfectly well, sealing the hair into an "up do", and smoothing down any flyaway hairs to create a sleek and (hopefully) slightly more grown up version of a pony tail, rather than make me look 12 again (though I am dangerously close to the wrong side of 30, so maybe that isn't such a bad thing!).
As a "down do" preserver, again this stuff really works. To hold your style into place you spray a fine mist over your hair and it keeps it style and even creates volume (if you do the whole tip your head upside down and ruffle routine too!), without seeming to weigh hair down and without leaving a sticky residue or heaviness to drag the volume back out again, in general this stuff does a really good job.
Scent wise (and I know this shouldn't make too much difference, but who wants something pongy applying to their hair!) this stuff is very nice, there is the acridity of the hairspray itself, but with a slight fruity edge, almost promoting that "just washed" sensation to the nose, and leaving it smelling as my hair smells when I have been and had a wash and blow dry at the hairdressers, although I am afraid no where near as well styled!
Another property this product boasts is "climate control", which for my hair (when worn down anyway) would be a life saver.
I don't have curly hair, though my Dad does, and I think a throwback to his hair type leaves me with really flicky and wispy looking hair, that once even a little moist springs out in all directions, my hair gives a whole new meaning to bed head!
When I wear my hair down I find a light spray then a quick "pull through" with my fingers ensures even distribution without puling the style about too much, and does seem to help keep the wispiness at bay, though I have as ye not found myself out in the rain wearing this stuff (wonder if it is rainproof too!?).
This really is good quality stuff that with how much you get in a can (500ml!) lasts you a decent amount of time too, for more information on products available and so-called "salon secrets" visit -
This is now my hairspray of choice, one that lasts a long time and is suitable for creating (or holding!) a variety of different styles in place without leaving any heavy or sticky residue, with the best part of this being that I don't have to wash this product out after use, but simply drag a brush through my mop top to break the spray up, and even then there are no tell tale signs like flaky white particles in the hair.
This a really good quality product that I would highly recommend!
Thanks for reading x
When I can actually be bothered to blow dry my hair I want it to stay perfectly formed (or as good as I can get it myself) for as long as possible. That's where hairspray comes into it. My hairdresser recommended this one (after I asked for a cheap one) and it is currently £1.82 for 100ml from Boots, you also get boots advantage points.
The hairspray comes in a tall cylindrical container. It is mainly black and has a black snap on and off lid on the top. Sometimes with these plastic lids then end up breaking but this is quite a strong one and even through plenty of use is still in good shape. I always shake the hairspray before use and then hold around 12 inches from my head and quickly spray it over evenly. I also tip my head upside down and spray underneath my hair. The top part is to keep the visual style in place and to stop fly away hairs. The underneath part is to keep the volume as I want it. Sometimes when I want lots and lots more volume I lift little bits of my hair up, backcomb them and spray under them individually. It takes a long time but the effects are worth it.
The hairspray smells of the typical chemical scent, but once it is on your hair you can no longer smell it so it doesn't really matter too much whether you like the smell or not. It doesn't have the addition of a gorgeous scent like some of the tigi bed head ones do, but I'm happy to miss that out rather than pay the extra few pounds.
The hairspray sprays on nice and evenly and doesn't make your hair hard or shiney, as long as you do not spray on too much. If you do, then you can just brush it out. I don't really understand why but I have found this hairspray looks much better on freshly washed hair than day old hair.
To me this is the perfect hairspray, cheap, gives good hold, does not look hard or shiney, and the next day when you wake up it seems to have all disappeared with no side effects. I will definitely be buying this one again.
I have fairly normal hair, which tends to go flat and greasy quite easily. All my life I have wanted big hair with lots of volume, and after trying various volumising mousses and sprays, I pretty much gave up. I often use hairspray when I am going out, just to push up my hair and give it some more oomph. After picking Tresemme's Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray, I will never go back to any other.
Due to running out of my last hairspray, this is the first one which I picked up, simply because Tresemme are a salon quality, therefore I thought it could deliver good results. The can is very sleek, and is just plain black, as shown in the image. It is available in two different sizes, and these are the standard 500ml hairspray, as well as a mini 100ml can, which is perfect for carrying around in your bag on a night out.
After spraying it on to my hair, the first thing I noticed was that it didn't have that horrible smell that most hairsprays have. This is however much more bearable, and made it easier for me to style my hair. Once applied on to my hair, I simply scrunched my hair to make it become a bit bigger. What I noticed when doing this was that the hairspray wasn't too heavy, therefore it didn't leave that sticky consistancy on to my hair, which is excellent, and meant that I didn't have any hard bits of hair which you get with many hairsprays!
From application, I was extremely impressed, as my hair already looked a lot healthier and bigger. I had applied it before I went out, and my hair stayed fairly big for the rest of the night. I didn't need to reapply my hairspray at all, and my hair stayed shiny from the hairspray. I was extremely happy with this hairspray as it managed to last for at least eight hours, as well as lasting through a spot of rain which is fabulous!
This is more expensive than most hairsprays I buy, but it is still very affordable! To buy the mini size which is great for carrying around or using when travelling is about £2.00, whereas the larger size is around £4.50. I definately think it is worth the investment though, because it does last a long time as not a lot is needed.
Overall, I am 100% satisfied with this product and will continue to repurchase it as it delivered excellent results. I'd recommend just trying out the mini size if you are unsure at first. Remember you can pick this up in various types of hold. I used the extra hold hairspray, so perhaps using a lighter one may not have as good results, so just take that in to consideration. Thanks for reading!
Tresemme has long been a favourite brand of mine. They have a good variety of products to suit all hair types and they never fail to deliver on quality or value for money.
This hairspray is no exception to this rule. The hairspray is packaged with the typical standard tresemme brand design- black container with the brand name in white. The canister is large and lasts a long time so even though the initial payout for it can seem expensive (I think I got my last one for £3.99), you get value for your money. I don't usually like hairspray because most feel sticky or leave your hair feeling really hard.
Tresemme Extra hold hairspray gives you really good hold without your hair feeling any different really. I tend to hairspray layers as I straighten and even doing this does not affect the feel of my hair. It feels lightweight and still moves naturally, almost like you are not using hairspray at all- something I do look for as I don't like my hair to feel full of product. You can brush your hair after using it and it doesn't seem to effect it although if I do this I do spray more on anyway-old habits die hard! Tresemme holds your hair well in quite strong wind, I only ever find it lets me down in rain but then so do most products in that particular case!
As I said i am a tresemme convert so possibly I like this product because I like the brand. But if you are looking for a hairspray that allows you maximum hold for minimum disruption this one is worth a go.
