Tresemme are not a brand that I use much but I bought this hairspray because it was in a really big can and looked like really good value for money. There are a few different types of Tresemme hairsprays, I decided on the Extra Hold hairspray as for me I like it to keep hair in place all day. I wasn't so keen on the smell of this when I first sprayed this but I decided to still keep on trying this as I don't like to just give up on a product for a reason which is minimal such as this one.

PACKAGING

This comes in a really tall and wide black spray can with the Tresemme logo on the front and it states directions of use. It has a push down spray head at the top and a black lid on it too as well as a colour coded design on it to make it obvious which one you are buying. There are a few safety warnings on the can also and it is quite a lightweight can considering the size of it. Compared to other hairsprays I have purchased in the past, the look of this hairspray can is quite muted but looks quite classy.

TRESEMME EXTRA HOLD SPRAY

At first, this spray needs a shake before using it and then once it has been shaken, it is ready to go. I always push down the spray head at the top which doesn't require too much pressure on it and then it should spray out a good amount of spray. I think the smell is too soapy, I don't like it and feel it is quite overpowering so it is best to spray this in a well ventilated area. The smell does seem to linger all day in my hair once I spray it, which is ok but I prefer when it tones down on smell during the day.

When it comes to using this hairspray, I use it for everything whether it is styling my hair wavy and holding in the waves or an up do or even when my hair is down in a style, to ensure it stays in place. I don't like to go overboard when using this hairspray, so I always hold it quite far away from my hair so that it doesn't go hard and sticky. Once I spray it, I can feel it raining down on my hair to give a light hold on my hair and you can feel it lightly on the hair but not too much.

After having this on my hair for a few hours, it still seems to keep my hair in place which is why I keep using this one. It has a great hold on styles and no matter what style I have, it never falls out of place as this hairspray seems to have a good holding formula without being too heavy on hair. I find when brushing hair, I don't get too much residue coming from it which is good as some hairsprays go really horrible after using them and give a lot of residue which isn't nice for hair.

Overall, compared to other hairsprays this is definitely one of the better ones I have used in terms of holding power. It works well in keeping my hair in place all day whether it be my fringe I want to be kept in place or whether it is holding down stray or flyaway hairs this does the job. Like I have said before I am not keen on the smell but it isn't terrible and I can live with it as I like everything else about the spray which is why I keep buying this. If you want to keep hair in place and want a hairspray that works then this is for you.

If you want to get your hands on this Tresemme hairspray then you can buy a 250ml can at Tesco for £2.49 which isn't bad value. The 100ml is £1.80 and the 500ml is £4.80 or on offer 2 for £6.
