Advantages: You get a load for your money

Disadvantages: negative effects on hair

Now I don't pretend to know much, or indeed anything, about shampoo's and other such hair products. As far as I was concerned they all do pretty much the same thing but cost a different price.

I used to use L'oreal Elvive (because I thought I was worth it) but the other day in the supermarket I spotted TREsemme and though I'd give it a go since there has been so much more advertising and you actually get a lot a of shampoo for your money.

The bottle itself is pretty enough. It is a 500ml black bottle with TREsemme written on the top and some other writing all of which is in white. There is a coloured patch towards the bottom of the bottle which describes what type of hair type it is for. This particular one has a green patch and is for all hair types. The bottle cost me about £4 I believe which is more expensive than the rest but you also get a load more than the rest.

Some of the main selling points are as follows:
Removes Build-Up & Pollutants
Deep Cleansing: Clarifying
Volumising.
Professional Performance Formula Removes Build-Up and Pollutants

Now I have no idea about any of the above, all I know is that it smells nice (probably due to the grapefruit and lemon peel extracts) and not much is needed in the hair.

So up until usage all seems positive. Unfortunately this is where it ends. Using it is fine but I have found that it has not had good effects on my hair and its effects are contrary to what it says. After washing and drying my hair I have found that it becomes very flat and lifeless (which is what you want to avoid if you listen to the adverts) and also very difficult to style.

I have since gone back to using L'oreal and have found that my hair is much better and has gone back to how it was before.

I guess, in my case, you should stick to what you know works!

Summary: Stick to the brands that you have tried and tested
