As I have fine hair which gets greasy quickly, what I look for in a shampoo is the ability to get my hair 'squeaky clean' and one that lathers up satisfyingly yet rinses out quickly. I saw this one on offer in Boots on a 'buy one, get one half price' offer which meant it was hardly more expensive than the cheaper brands I usually buy, so I thought I'd give it a try. In Boots a 500ml bottle of shampoo or conditioner is £3.12, which makes it good value, especially on special offer.
This shampoo comes in a large 500ml bottle which is black, matte and stylish and looks very professional - the kind of shampoo they have in hairdressers. It's described as 'deep-cleansing' so I was interested to see if it would live up to its claims. My boyfriend also uses the same shampoo as me in the shower and complains if I buy anything too 'girly' so I'd point out that this is quite unisex/boy-friendly packaging too.
The shampoo has a handy flip-lid which means it's easy to squeeze out just the right amount of shampoo, even with wet hands! I lathered it in my hair and was glad to note that it frothed up quickly and satisfyingly. The fragrance was pleasant but not overwhelming - slightly fruity but mostly just a clean and fresh scent which I found very enjoyable.
I rinsed it out straight away and was impressed with the speed it rinsed out - some take ages, but this was very quick and left that satisfying 'squeak' behind (I know that's not supposed to be good for your hair, but the way I see it, if you're using a shampoo to clean your hair it's nice to feel the evidence that it's done its job).
I used my normal conditioner afterwards and was very pleased with the results. My hair felt very clean and fresh for at least 24 hours (that's good for me!) and I could smell the fragrance for a good while. It was also very manageable though, not flyaway and static-y like you get with some shampoos for greasy hair.
Overall I was very impressed and would buy this again (but will wait until it's on offer!)
