I once tried Tresemme shampoo and conditioner and found it made my hair really dry so I didn't buy anymore. After my experience, however, I heard so many rave reviews both online and from friends and family that I thought I might try the shampoo product again when they branded it as a 'new' formula. In fact the product seems to be exactly the same but with a slightly different name. Therefore the product is now called Tresemme 'Luxurious Moisture' as opposed to the 'Moisture Rich' label. If you follow the links on the Tresemme website you'll discover this is indeed the same product however and after using the newer formula I am not sure if there has been any changes to the product except the name of it.
I've always been impressed by the huge bottles of Tresemme that are available to purchase. I bought this is a 900ml sized bottle. I do not recall the exact price I bought it for but it was considerably more than I usually pay for a shampoo. When buying though I took into account the bigger bottle size (I usually only buy 300ml sized bottles) as well as the praise I'd heard about the Tresemme shampoo and conditioner lines.
The bottle is black plastic and not recyclable in my area but it may be in other areas. It is fitted with a top that can be depressed on one side to reveal a dispensing hole on the other side. This top can not be removed completely. It is easy to use and is a non-drip contraption when closed. I like the overall design of the Tresemme shampoo. It looks very much like a salon shampoo and these I consider to be of a higher quality and price then the products available in the supermarket! The label on the front which proclaims that the shampoo is "used by professionals" is believable.
The label is also printed with essential information about the product. As mentioned, the brand are calling this product 'new' although in reality it is just an overhaul of the 'Moisture Rich' shampoo. The shampoo is marked as being for "dry or dull hair" and it is stated that it has a formula rich in vitamin E.
Another label on the back of the bottle is printed with more in depth information about the brand and the shampoo. It is stated that Tresemme began as a salon shampoo in 1947. I found this very surprising as I thought it was a much more recent invention that masqueraded as a salon shampoo rather than having it's origins as a real salon shampoo! Tresemme claim that the shampoo awards "intense moisturisation" and mild enough to use daily. They also promise that hair will be vibrant and soft after using the shampoo.
Full ingredients are listed on this back label as well as safety warnings and directions for use. The latter does not differ from the common shampoo. Simply lather from root to tip and then rinse. The company state that for best results you should use a conditioner from the same range.
The shampoo has a thick, gooey consistency and is white with a pearly sheen. It seems to stick in the bottle for quite a while before it oozes out very slowly. I have found that I don't need to use an awful lot of this as it is so rich and it creates a lot of foam. Even though I have long hair a very small smidge of this shampoo is able to be used on the whole head. The shampoo lathers quickly and the foam is dense and intense! It's a very stiff kind of foam and a lot of bubbles are created. Whilst the amount of foam and the richness of it means that you feel like you get a good, deep clean the bubbles can be difficult to rinse out as they are so thick.
The shampoo has a nice fragrance and is reminiscent of apples although it is a rather clinical, hairdresser kind of fragrance too. It is a scent that is fresh, sharp and clean though and I like to smell it during use and afterwards when drying and styling my hair.
I should point out that I have long hair that is somewhere between wavy and curly. I also bleach my hair with highlights and therefore it is quite dry and prone to frizz. When I used this Tresemme for the first time I found that at the styling stage (when my hair was towel dry) my hair was tangled and it felt as dry as straw. This was after using a conditioner product too. In following uses I reduced the level of shampoo and increased conditioning times used but unfortunately have had the same result. Firstly my hair is very dry and tatted at the styling stage. It requires a lot of work to get my hair into a position where I can dry it without ending up like a scarecrow! Then after my hair is dry it then requires a lot of added products to get it into a state where it looks glossy, calm and healthy. I use serum, oil, hairspray or gels.
The shampoo has the effect on my hair that rather than infuse it with moisture it seems to strip the moisture form the hair! The only good aspect about the shampoo is how well it cleans the hair and the scalp. It gives a deep, thorough clean and I can go several days without needing to wash my hair again. It's gentle on the scalp too. Unfortunately the shampoo is far too drying on my hair and it is time consuming to style my hair after using the shampoo and possibly damaging to my hair because it is so very drying. I have actually been using the shampoo as a bath foam just to use it up as I do not want to keep using it and will not buy it again. I would not recommend this to anyone who has coloured, damaged hair or hair that is prone to curl or frizz.
My Mum loves the Tresemme range of hair care products, so I decided to buy her a shampoo and conditioner when I spotted them on offer at Tesco and I also decided to treat myself to the moisture rich shampoo seeing as it was only £2.30 instead of £4.69.
I know that to most people £4.69 is quite cheap for a good quality shampoo, but I prefer using cheapo hair care products because I like saving my money. At £2.30 though you can't go wrong and I'm going to get a few more bottles of it while it is still on offer!
The shampoo comes in a really big bottle (900ml) so will last a long time, making it very good value for money even at full price. I bought mine last week and have used it about 4 times now and it still feels full! The packaging is really expensive looking but one downside is that if I take into the gym to wash my hair after swimming it really weighs my gym bag down because its a bit bulky.
The top has got a flip top lid and the shampoo itself looks like any other - white & pearly in appearance. The texture is lovely and thick and creamy and a two pound coin sized blob is enough for my shoulder length hair. This shampoo is specifically for dry and heat damaged hair.
I have got quite weird hair - it's often really dry at the ends and greasy at the parting area, so I was a bit
concerned it might make my hair greasy or not have much effect on the dryness.
However, it makes my hair feel silky soft, it feels nourished and well cared for almost as soon as I put the shampoo on! It smells lovely and my hair feels amazing after I've used it. It lathers up really easily and my hair is left feeling sparkling clean, silky soft and it looks shinier & healthier.
After my bath I blow dry and straighten my hair and it still feels just as soft and fluffy (in a good way!!) I would have to say that this is one of the best shampoos that I've used, and I will definitely be buying some more while its on offer!!
I definitely recommend this shampoo, it's brill.
I've used the Tresemme range of shampoos and conditioners for several years now, initially tempted by the promise of 'salon quality' hair. Since then I have continued to come back to the brand on a regular basis, attracted by the fact that it offers great value for money and a range of products that I have grown to trust.
Amongst my favourite Tresemme products is this 'Moisture Rich' shampoo containing Vitamin E which I tend to use in conjunction with the conditioner from the same range. This shampoo is designed for hair that is dry or damaged and promises to restore moisture and shine, whilst still being light enough for everyday use if necessary. This shampoo is very widely available from most supermarkets and chemists and is sold in 900ml or 500ml bottles which stand out on the shelves due to their simple but chunky design. The colour scheme is also simple and straightforward with the shampoo bottle being black and the conditioner white so they are easy to tell apart, even when still half-asleep after a disrupted night's sleep!
I tend to wash my hair every two or three days, as I have long, curly hair that has a tendency to become dry and frizzy so I avoid washing it too frequently. I find the consistency of this shampoo to be very well suited to my long, thick hair as other brands can be too watery and wasteful. The creamy white shampoo is thick enough to coat my hair easily without escaping through my fingers. I find it easy to work through the entire lengths of my hair and find that it produces a generous amount of creamy and pleasant smelling lather easily which is easy to distribute throughout my hair.
Despite its thick consistency, I find the shampoo rinses out easily without leaving any residue or greasiness. Unlike some other brands, this doesn't appear to dry my hair out after washing although I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable about using this shampoo without following with a moisturising conditioner, making it slightly difficult to evaluate this shampoo on its own merits. I do like that my hair isn't left literally 'squeaky clean' as I think thai is actually a sign of all of those necessary and beneficial oils being washed out of the hair, rather than an indication of cleanliness.
The scent of the shampoo is in keeping with other products from the range, so I do find that the products complement each other and work best when used in conjunction with the matching conditioner.The scent of this shampoo is quite strong and distinctive, but suitably unisex and my other half has been known to use this without complaining. I really like the scent , associating it with clean, freshly washed hair,and find that it lingers pleasantly on my hair between washes without being overpowering.
One of the attractions of this product and the brand in general is that it is frequently on promotion, meaning that I'm able to stock up on quite a few at a time. The full RRP for the larger bottles is around £4.69, but it is often part of a multi-buy promotion, occasionally even on a Buy One Get One Free offer, making this excellent value for money.
The main drawback is the design of the bottles for practical use. They are cumbersome to hold and use, particularly the large 900ml version which I tend to buy. The sheer size of the bottle means that it can be surprisingly heavy and slippery, especially for the first few uses and I think it would benefit from having some indents around the middle to make it easier to hold. I do like the robust flip up lid, which dispenses the shampoo easily and evenly. It is also a little tricky to open which is actually a blessing for me as it prevents my toddler from being able to open the bottle and pour half of the contents away.
In all, this isn't an amazing miracle product but it is a reliable and pleasant smelling shampoo that does make my hair feel clean and protected from any further damage. Given its value for money, it is a product that I shall continue to use and am happy to recommend, certainly in conjunction with the matching conditioner from the range.
My hair used to be in an absolute state until last year, after having my daughter I never got a chance to visit a hairdresser and didn't fancy a mobile one coming round here. After chopping most of my rubbish hair off last year, she recommended I use Tresemme to keep my hair nice and healthy so off I popped and bought both the shampoo and conditioner.
Tresemme can often be found on special offer, two for the price of one, or two for such and such amount. I bought both the 900ml shampoo and condition for £6 from Asda. It is widely available from places such as Boots and Superdrug or your local supermarket.
This shampoo definitely stands out on the shelf, not because of a bright or unusual design, but due to the sheer size in these bottles. At 900ml, the bottles are quite chunky and very heavy (for a bottle of shampoo anyway!). I'm not keen on the design of these bottles, the hole to dispense the shampoo is at the top, where you have to push one end down for the small hole to appear at the other end. Trying to dispense the shampoo onto one of your hands leaves only one hand to try and grasp the bottle, this is quite difficult, especially if the bottle is quite full as it is heavy. I definitely think Tresemme need to rethink the bottle design.
After dispensing some of the shampoo into my hand, I'm not overly impressed on the scent, it's hard to describe what it smells like, almost floral but a fake floral smell. It isn't too bad and doesn't put me off using the shampoo but it isn't the greatest smelling shampoo I have used either. The consistency of this shampoo is quite runny, it does tend to run around on my hand before I apply it, after it's been applied it does lather up quite well and quickly. I have found that when rinsing it out, it tends to use more water than what I used to with other brands, that isn't a huge problem for me.
I also team this conditioner up with the same moisture rich vitamin E conditioner. Tresemme say that this will quench your dehydrated hairs thirst and I agree with this to a degree. My hair really was in a pretty poor state before using these products and they do leave my hair looking a lot better and feeling soft and smooth. I wouldn't say they give the same results as you get in a salon as they say but the results are great all the same.
At around £4 for a 00ml bottle, it is a little more expensive than other shampoo's but not overly expensive.
I would recommend this shampoo based on the fact it did give my hair a new lease of life, however, the funny smell, runny consistency and needing a lot of rinsing could put some people off.
For years I just used any old shampoo, I didnt mind what brand it was, just if it was cheap it would do! But recently I have started to take more pride in my hair! My girlfriend has been using this particular tresemme shampoo for a couple years and I never really took any notice of it, one day she told me to try it and see how soft it would make my hair feel! I was really shocked at how good this stuff is, I dont have very long hair but I still like to style it. After using tresemme moisture rich shampoo I could style my hair much easier! I decided that I would buy some for myself at home and I am now a proud user of it, I know that its mainly aimed at girls, but I'm not to bothered by that!!!. I will now go into a bit more detail on the shampoo.
it comes in a black bottle with some information on the front about the product. It is specifically for dry or damaged hair, which my hair was dry due to using rubbish shampoo's before! The front also says how the shampoo is professional quality and how it instantly locks in moisture. Tresemme bases its advertising and products on being affordable and as close to salon quality as you will get without paying salon prices. Because the bottle is black, its gender nuetral! I dont feel ashamed to have this in my bathroom. I normally buy the larger bottle which is 900ml in size, the bottle in the dooyoo picture is the 500ml versions. It normally works out more cost effective to buy the bigger bottle.
Tresemme is quite expensive, a large bottle of shampoo normally costs around £4, tesco however, regulalry have it on sale at half price or buy on get one free! both me and my girlfriend stock up when its on offer because it saves us money in the long run. I still believe the bottle is worth £4 because its a really good shampoo and of a very high quality. If I had too I would pay full price for it!
Im not sure how many guys actually use this product, im not ashamed to use it because it works really well. I presume that mostly females use it! but as I said before, the bottle is black so it shouldnt put men off buying it! Its definately worth a try if your a guy.
Whats in the bottle:
the shampoo is white in colour and looks nice. you only need a small amount to rub in because it lavers up very quickly! It doesnt take very long to rub in and wash out either! The shampoo does moisturise your'e hair, you will feel a difference. when its tried it looks shiny and feels really nice to touch, it cleans well and I am really happy with it.
Its a great shampoo that works, I have stopped using cheap shampoo now and I will continue to use this for the forseeable future. I am yet to try any of there other shampoo products, I also want to try out there conditioner because I have heard that it is very good to use with the shampoo too! Im pleased with this product and I would recommend this to girls and guys!
Thanks for reading, Hope it helped you :)
I will give this 5 stars!!
I have always been a fan of the Treseme shampoo's since they first hit the scene, not only did they have a great variety of types for different hair and are at a great affordable price in a variety of places.
A 500ml bottle at my local Sainsburys usually costs between £3-£4 and are more often than not on a 2 for £4 or BOGOF offer meaning twice the shampoo for half the price!
When this new Shampoo came onto the market a few months ago I jumped at the chance to try the new product as I am always looking for a shampoo to treat my hair with as it's so damaged after dying it every few months since the age of 11.
Never one to get greasy hair I tried this product firstly with conditioner after I had used the shampoo. After using the product a few times I was beginning to realise that my hair was becoming greasier quicker. Deciding to investigate this I took another look at the shampoo bottle to notice a small *. When turning the bottle round I noticed that it stated that the moisture rich shampoo also contained conditioner which meant that I was doubly conditioning my hair.
Once I stopped using the extra conditioner I found that my hair was back to its normal self with abit of added extra shine after using only the vitamin e rich shampoo.
I would definately reccommend this product to anyone who thinks their hair needs abit of TLC
I buy into the theory that it is better to spend money on things that stay with you than things you wash off, which is why I'll shell out more for moisturiser than cleanser, and why a styling product gets more attention from me than basic shampoo. I bought a Tresemme twosome because they do a decent travel sized range of 100ml bottles, so small enough to stash in a bag, but not so small you only get a couple of washes out of them. In Superdrug in January this year the option was the Vitamin E Moisture Rich shampoo, so that's what I went for.
Tresemme have (had?) a big ad campaign so I knew to expect salon quality stuff at a lower price, but even if it had been a brand I'd never heard of, for my needs I'd probably still have bought them. That said, because I WAS aware of them, I was expecting good things, and as we all know, it's never a good idea to have too high expectations.
My first impression of the shampoo was the smell that emerged when I unscrewed the cap. To me the scent is evidently artificial, and though they have tried to make it floral, it's still a sharp, man-made flower that results. It wasn't something I loved but it wasn't something so repulsive I didn't want to use it either. I just hoped the subsequent conditioner and styling spray would mask it.
My second impression was how thin it was when in use. It's not overly runny in your hand but the minimal lather it produced on my hair was weak and far from impressive. Though I tend to shampoo only once, with this I really felt I need to lather it up again with a second squirt to get a proper clean - I don't wash my hair every day, and I DO go to the gym and walk around a dirty city every day, so when I'm bothering to shampoo I want squeaky clean hair as a result. The second and subsequent times I used this, I made sure to have a big dollop to start with and this worked a bit better meaning I only had to shampoo once, but it was still very thin and not the impressive bubbles I am used to. Still, I was using more product than I expected to, for results less good than I was accustomed to, so I wasn't impressed.
I was also put out by the effect it had on my hair while in the shower. For something called 'Moisture Rich' I was expecting my hair to feel silky and soft when wet, almost like it does when you apply conditioner, but this made my hair feel stringy and almost dry (as dry as hair can be while in the shower). This wasn't a one off - it's something I've noticed every time I've used it, and every time I think it's odd. Since being here I've also used a locally bought bottle, and some free hotel samples, and neither of those has had such a negative effect on my hair in the shower. It's hard to explain, but it almost feels like I have 5 million individual hairs, rather than one nice mane when I use this.
Despite the usage issues, I have continued to shampoo with this for two reasons. Firstly because I don't want to waste it, and secondly because after the shower my hair feels and looks fine (though of course the conditioner and styling gunk may contribute to this). My hair dries nicely, looks refreshed and feels light, not clogged down with product. The shampoo does not give me a flaky scalp or dull hair or any of the other things that can affect your look. My hair is as soft as normal and smells (happily) not of stenchy fake flowers.
Would I recommend? For travel it's fine and the bottle is certainly convenient if you don't have any spares to fill with your regular shampoo, but I certainly wouldn't choose to buy a big one of these over all the other varieties available in shops, and considering how much Tresemme built themselves up in my mind, I do feel a little let down.
Boots.com currently lists this for £3.26 in the 500ml size or part of the 2-for-£5 on Tresemme. It's not extortionate but it's not for me, so I wouldn't buy it again.
I received a sample of this shampoo and really liked what it did to me hair and so after using the sample then decided to buy a full size bottle so the trial size advertising obviously worked on this consumer.
I colour my hair professionally at the hairdressers and although it is in fairly good condition it can always do with a bit of added moisture and this shampoo is perfect for that.
Tresemme have their origins in salons and so to me this always makes me think that they are a good quality product and one that actually works on your hair. According to the information on the bottle TRESemme is dedicated to creating haircare and styling products that are salon quality without the salon price, salon inspired, atyle tested prpducts to help you create your own style and experience that salon feeling everyday.
I have to admit that I don't like spending alot of money on hair products and the products they use in my salon are extremely pricey so it's nice to find something that is a bit cheaper but still good quality and at £3.26 for a 500ml bottle I didn't think that was too bad.
The shampoo worked well on my hair, I only needed a little amount and it worked into a lather really nicely. The shampoo contains a moisturising systme with vitamin E which is said to restore vibrancy and softness to dry damaged hair. After I dried my hair and styled it I really liked the way it felt, it had a nice bounce to it and did not feel dry after the colouring I had recently. I use the shampoo all the time and aparently it is gentle enough for daily use. I have found no prodct build up like I do with some shampoos so I am happy to use this for quite a while yet.
Tresemme is a professional hair care brand which offers daily hair care such as shampoos and conditioners and also treatments such as hair masks and sprays. There products come in collections based on your hair type. They cater for dry hair, coloured, permed and oily hair types.
The Moisture Rich hair collection from Tresemme, includes a shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is designed for those who have dry or damaged hair. The shampoo is enriched with vitamin e to offer hydration and locks in the moisture keeping the hair hydrated for longer. It claims to give your hair a healthy appearance and shine whilst also protecting it and is suitable for daily use.
For those who have overprocessed hair from using styling tools, this shampoo will restore the moisture back into your hair with its blend of vitamin e and also the addition of hazelnut, sunflower and almond extracts. It is recommended that you use this shampoo with the matching conditioner.
The shampoo is safely housed within a tall, black plastic bottle which is rather chunky. The bottle has some clear consise information including a bit about the brand, the shampoos claims etc. The shampoo is dispensed through a pop up cap at the top of the bottle. The bottle can be recycled after use and should be used up within 12months of first opening.
~~~Availability and Price~~~
Tresemme is widely available in chemist type stores such as Boots and Semi Chem and also supermarkets. Offers can regularly be found in supermarkets. The current Asda prices are as follows :
100ml travel size - £1.00 or 4 for £3.00 (ideal for the holidays)
500ml standard - £3.28
900ml huge size - £4.30 or 3 for £10.00 across the bigger sized bottles
I change my shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis to avoid my hair getting to used to a certain type. My hair is dry and usually quite thick but years of dying my hair and using straighteners has left it very damaged and most of it goes down the plug hole with every wash. I no longer wash my hair every day as I don't have time..I prefer to get 3 days or sometimes 2 out of one wash and mostly always apply a conditioner.
I have used certain Tresemme products in the past and found them to be of a high quality. Around 7weeks ago, I was shopping in Asda when my fiance reminded me we were nearly out of shampoo that both of us could use. At that time, there was an offer on Tresemme where I could purchase any 2 products for £4.00. Include in that offer were this Moisture Rich shampoo and also the conditioner so I managed to pick up 2 x 900ml bottles for the cost of less than 1..happy customer!
I purchased the Moisture Rich type shampoo as my hair needs extra moisture. My fiance has short, thick hair which is quite dry so I knew this would benefit both of us. The bottle does look very professional and smart and you could imagine it sitting near the sinks in the salons. The only issue with getting such a big bottle is holding it..its very heavy and wet hands in the shower mixed with a smooth, plastic bottle is only going to lead to disaster. Yes I did drop it a few times and nearly broke the bath never mind my toe! The packaging would have been best suited having a pump dispenser for ease of application and little chance of trips to A&E!
The claims made by Tresemme are quite basic and it doesn't claim to perform miracles.As far as I am concerned, if it cleanses my hair, gives it softness and leaves it less dry then I am happy. My dry skin on my scalp also gets in the way so any relief from that would be welcome. I mainly use the shampoo and conditioner at the same time but if I am pushed for time, I will just use the shampoo.
I love having a shower at home now as it makes everything quick and hassle free. I feel that water sometimes runs right off my hair hence the reason why its so dry..so I need to ensure it is fully soaked prior to commencing shampooing! The shampoo is thicker than many I have tried before. It is offered to use in a mass of white, shiny gooeyness which is fragranced quite strongly but with a neautral, unisex clean with a hint of sweetness scent.
The shampoo being so thick, clings to my hair but does take a moment or two to get a good lather going. It feels soft and rather luxurious as I run my fingers through my hair coating it all. I concentrate on my scalp to ensure it is cleansed..if only I could get a salon head massage whilst I shampoo as it would complete the salon experience in my shower just nicely! Once the lather comes through, it is thick, soft and bubbly and the scent intensifies.
Removing the lather from my hair takes a bit of effort due to how strongly it clings to every strand. Usually I need to stand under the shower head and give a few swishes here and there but I really need to keep swishing my full hand down my hair ensuring the shampoo seperates itself from my hair and goes shooting down the plughole with the water. If I want to apply conditioner and I do so but the real emphasis is how the shampoo performs on its own.
~~~Results Are In...Who Has Won?~~~
Immediately after ringing my hair out, it feels generously soft and has a squeaky clean feel and texture about it. I rarely use a hair dryer now much preferring to give my hair a quick towel dry then allowing to dry naturally whilst at home. My hair feels lightweight after using this shampoo and my brush can easily sweep through it. What did concern me at first is there feels like there is a little layer of something that sits on my hair. This only does it whilst it is wet and once dry, it disappears so I don't mind it too much.
Using this shampoo once ever 2-3days is sufficient for me. It makes my hair clean and the itchiness on my scalp has reduced somewhat. My hair feels stronger after using this for about 6weeks. Once my hair is dry, there is very little in the way of frizz or tugs. My hair does appear shiny and there is a noticeable, healthy sheen to it which combined with softness, makes my hair very happy! If used with the conditioner, the effects are even better as my hair remains in excellent conditioner til the next time I wash it and keeps the softness there.
Another thing that I noticed that appealed to me was the fact that the scent infuses itself into my hair. I could wash it on the Sunday and then again on Tuesday and as I applied some water to it, the scent would liven up which is really unusual and certainly welcomed. My fiance doesn't mind the scent as it isn't too feminine. It makes his short hair lovely and soft so I can run my hands through it when I feel like doing so.
~~~A Salon Success?~~~
Tresemme Moisture Rich Shampoo is an effective shampoo that does its ended job and leaves my hair strong, hydrated and clean. We have been using this 900ml bottle for 6weeks now and there must be at least 3/5 of it left which is a bargain. The larger size is ideal for bigger families as anyone can use it though it may be a bit strong for younger children. At over £4.00, I would be happy to pay this again but there is no need to pay full price as there will nearly always be an offer on somewhere. 2 for £4.00 is way better than 3 for £10.00 in my eyes!
The only thing that lets this bottle down is the fact that it is awkward to dispense the shampoo due to there not being a pump applicator. This is something that Tresemme could look into and make things a little easier for the buyers. Apart from this aspect, everything was ideal and I shall follow up with the conditioner review shortly.
Thanks for reading :)
While on a search for something to make my hair look amazing on a cheaper budget I cam across treseme which claimed to give you a salon quality shampoo for half the price. The bottle sizes are 500ml and they retail for around £4. I always wait till it is on half price offer at £2.50 and then stock up and as your getting so much shampoo they last me a good few weeks anyway. The shampoo boasts to help dry hair and add moisture which I desperetly need for mine so I was very keen to try it out.
To use you push the back of the lid which then opens and reveals a whole where you squeese out shampoo. It comes out easy and is mess free. I put a small amount on to the middle of my hand and it lathered up nicely.The shampoo itself is nice and thick unlike some other shampoos that just run off your hand. There is a really nice sweet smell to it that is not too over bearing but definetly noticable. As instructed I covered my hair and massaged into my scalp.
I then began to wash it out of my hair and found that it came away very easily. A few rinses and all trace of it had left my hair but there was still a fresh sweet smell. I then went on to style my hair and found a different straight away. My hair felt a lot healthier and had a definite shine to it.
I have continued to use this shampoo and would recomend it to anyone. my hair is very dry and this has helped its condition alot. Each and everytime I have used it as my regualr shampoo in the last 8 months I have found it has brilliant results and in my opinion really does give you salon quality feel after you use it.
My hair is really thin and tends to get split ends very easily. I know it does't help using the hair-dryer nearly every day but unfortunately I don't have the kind of hair that falls into place naturally.
I though a bit of moisture would help it be healthier and a bit less "dry", well, like the girl in the advert with shiny healthy looking hair, you see? It also claims to be "professional and affordable". What else was I waiting for?
I bought it on offer at Boots along with the Moisture Rich Conditioner, as I though it would be double the moisture!
I was very disappointed with the results as it left my hair dry and coarse, as if it sucked out the little bit of moisture I had instead of injecting some more. It took me a good week to get it back to normal with my other usual shampoo. The conditioner is a bit better though, but still didn't help with the dryness caused by the shampoo.
My friend has really thin hair too and she had the same result, so I don't know if it is just unsuitable for people with thin hair, as it is a product that seems to get good reviews (which is the reason I tried it in the first place).
I wouldn't recommend this product if you have thin hair, but since it's got good reviews, it might be good if your hair is quite thick.
This shampoo comes in a nice big 900ml bottle which lasts a long time at least a month. Its black and the design is simple and classy not tacky at all. It follows the same design as other tresseme products.
The shampoo is clear and has a lovely clean and fresh smell to it. The shampoo is very thick too. I find a little goes a long way. 2 50p dollops can cover my whole hair which is very long. The shampoo lathers up really well which is nice. It washes easily in my opinion. Whilst washing my hair I can see it getting shinier which is nice.
Im really pleased by the results the shampoo gave me. My hair looks incredibly shiny and healthy. It has became volumised but is not frizzy which is really important to me as my hair is a frizz bomb! Last but not least my hair feels very clean and smells fresh! I love how the scent stays in my hair for a long time. I always recieve compliments on how soft and nice my hair looks!
The 900ml bottle is excellent value for money and it is usually on offer. I think it only cost me £4. Fantastic price for how many washes you can get out of it.
Overall a fantastic shampoo if you want clean healthy volumised and soft hair. My favourite shampoo so I definately recommend it. It is excellent value for money
Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo
I have been using Tresemme products for a while now, I find that although their products aren't quite as good as some saloon products that I have tried, they are better than a lot of other shampoo brands available from the supermarket shelves.
I first tried this shampoo because I accidentally picked this one up instead of the deep cleansing shampoo, it wasn't until I was home I noticed my error. I decided to give it a try even thou I don't really suffer from dry or overly damaged hair, I have what probably falls under the umbrella of normal condition hair. Even thou this shampoo isn't directed at my specific hair type I still find that it leaves my hair feeling clean, soft and smooth. Personally, I tend to use this shampoo every other day than every day, when I do use it every day I notice that my hair can get a tad greasier feeling than normal. However, using this a few times a week really does leave my hair feeling softer and looking shiner than using the deep cleansing shampoo alone.
The shampoo itself is a thick, clear and has an almost gel like texture and appearance about it. You don't need to use much of this to get a good later, even for slightly longer hair. This shampoo doesn't have too much of a heavy fragrance to it, it does have a light clean scent that is pleasant. It is also a pretty unisex smell and with the unisex packaging this is a shampoo that doesn't only have me reaching for it, but also my husband too.
I tend to buy the larger bottles, I prefer buying the 900 ml bottles because they do last me for quite a while. The packaging for Tresemme is simple but stylish, this bottle comes in the trademark black bottle with blue highlights to signal that this is the moisture rich shampoo and not any other variety.
I recently stocked up on quite a few Tresemme products in a recent three for £10 special offer at Tesco's.
This shampoo gets a four out of five stars from me. I tend to go back and buy this time after time, it leaves my hair in great condition and it won't break the bank or at least the monthly bathroom shopping budget.
If you regularly read my reviews then you'll probably have seen my shampoo reviews that pop up every few months. I always tend to say that they are my new favourite and I won't be chancing shampoo again, but here I am with a new shampoo and will definitely not be changing anytime soon. I actually first tried this shampoo when my boyfriend and I went away for the weekend, we realised neither of us had taken shampoo or conditioner with us, so we popped into Boots and grabbed a couple of Tresemme travel size bottles and went on our way. The one we picked up was Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo.
The shampoo comes in a sturdy black plastic bottle. This is the same for the travel sized and full sized (900ml) bottle that I'm currently using. The only difference is that the travel sized bottle has a screw off lid whereas the full size bottle has the kind of flip top lid that you push down and the other side pops up to release the shampoo (does anyone know that these are called?). The back of the bottle hosts all of the usual given information such as Tresemme's philosophy, what the shampoo does for your hair, how to use it, suggestion for the product, ingredients and brand contact information. All of this information can be found on the Tresemme website.
The shampoo itself has a difficult scent to describe. I really can't figure out what it is that it smells like so I'll just let you know that it smells very fresh and clean, very similar to the 'just out of the salon' scent. It is a thick, gel like consistency which is clear in colour. Despite being a thick gel, it is fairly runny which can get a little frustrating when it dribbles off of your hand, but it can't be helped.
To use the shampoo you simply lather it up into wet hair (as if you need to know how to use shampoo...) and then rinse it out. You can repeat if you feel it is necessary. The shampoo doesn't provide the lather that I wish it would, but it still bubbles up fairly well to make my hair feel like I'm actually getting it clean. I have very long, thick hair (it comes to my hipbones when fully straightened) and I only need a small amount of shampoo to wash it all. I focus the shampoo in the roots first and then run it through the length of my hair to remove any hairspray or product that may or may not be in my hair. Then I simply rinse it out and follow up with the matching conditioner (review to come).
Since using this shampoo and conditioner combination I have had nothing but compliments on my hair. It looks so much healthier and shinier these days, which is always a bonus as having healthy looking hair is a must for me. Not only this, but you can tell just how clean your hair is simply by looking at it. It is very clean and soft looking and feels very silky to touch. The scent from this shampoo lingers in my hair for a ridiculously long time (I can still smell it in my hair over 24 hours later) and my boyfriend always notices it when we're lying in bed or having a cuddle. Not only does my hair look and smell better, but it is much more manageable than it was before. Due to the length and thickness of my hair, it was always a little difficult to manage but now I don't seem to have any problems when it comes to drying and styling my hair.
I paid £5 for a 900ml bottle of this shampoo, but Asda currently have an offer on where you can buy 3 900ml bottles of Tresemme products for £10. I highly recommend you take advantage of this offer if you want to try this shampoo.
Overall, I absolutely adore this shampoo and I'm so glad that I picked it up. Tresemme claim to have salon quality for a cheaper budget and their adverts always irritated me, but it is 100% true. I feel like i've just been to the salon every time I wash my hair! 5 Dooyoo stars.
Thanks for reading!
Over the years I've tried numerous shampoos - some have been poor, some have mediocre, some have been all right and some have been damn right awful - but in all honesty, there's only one shampoo can I can truly call excellent - Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo.
Tresemme claims that this shampoo brand was originally developed to be used in professional hair salons, that it rehydrates your hair and that it's gentile enough for daily use. The company also recommends this product to those that have 'over-processed hair'- that has seen a lot of hair straightners and heated curlers!
Each Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo bottle is black with a small blue panel on it to identify it as the 'moisture rich shampoo.' The bottles are made of soft plastic but they are quite robust, yet sleek looking and squeezable. The 100ml bottle has a screw lid on it and the other two sizes have lids that you can press open and shut.
You can buy this product in 100ml, 500ml and 900ml bottles. I think that the most economic way of purchasing his shampoo is to buy three 900ml bottles for £15.00 from Asda - because each bottle should last a family of four around a month (depending on how often you wash your hair of course) and otherwise it could get expensive.
You only need to use a little bit of Tresemme, I usually put a 50 pence sized dollop into my hand and I massage it into my hair. I then rinse it and use Tresemme's Moisture Rich Conditioner to finish.
The scent isn't too overpowering, but Tresemme contains sunflower, hazelnut and almond extracts - and I think you can detect hints of these ingredients within the shampoo formula when you use it. The scent also has longevity - it lasts at least 24 hours - I have actually just had a sniff of my hair (which I washed at around 10pm last night) and it still smells clean and fresh!
When you dry your hair you see why Tresemme is different from other shampoos. It leaves you hair clean, smooth and free from 'product.' In the past, when I've used moisturising shampoos made by other companies, I've dried my hair and it's felt like it has a plastic film over it, but with Trsemme this isn't the case - my hair is left feeling soft, fresh and clean without any artificial extras!
Tresemme is a luxurious purchase for me and I am always on the look-out for a cheaper alternative - so if anybody out there has found one then please share the knowledge, because I'm yet to find a shampoo that matches it - five stars!!
