Tresemme Keratin Deep Treatment Masque
by alyson29
I enjoy the challenge of trying and testing out new products, particularly when it comes to beauty. I would describe my long naturally curly hair as thick and as a result, I am prone to suffering with dry and split ends, which is exacerbated due to my constant home colouring and the use of heated appliances. Whilst I visit my hair ... stylist on a regular basis for trims, it is essential that I use quality products to keep it in tip top condition.
For as long as I can possibly remember, I have used a deep conditioning mask on a weekly basis with Dove products being my preferred choice. However, when shopping in Boot some time ago my eyes were drawn to Tresemme's Keratin Deep Treatment Masque, which is fairly new and eager to try it out my purchase was made. I cannot admit to having much experience with the Tresemme brand, as I don't generally tend to seek out their products, but it was the claim that the masque will restore keratin that was my deciding factor.
Whilst I do not intend waffling on about keratin, I would advise that it belongs to the protein family where it provides the much needed strength and resilience to our hair, nails and skin and as a result, it can be found in many beauty products. It is widely used in hair products, which are aimed at those consumers who suffer with dryness and frizz where it is claimed that it will make the hair straighter, silkier and subsequently, much easier to manage.
We are presented with 300 ml of mask, which is contained in a deep red coloured sturdy plastic tub with a black screw top lid. The packaging is considerably appealing to the eye with touches of golden text, which offer a stunning contrast against the deep red tub to create a classy and luxurious appearance. As previously mentioned, I suffer with dryness and frizz on the ends, which can cause my hair to become weak and subsequently snap. It is always a little nerve racking trying out new hair masques, particularly as the remainder of my hair can be described as normal, so the last thing I wish to do is to cause it to become greasy when attempting to treat the dry tips.
The reverse of the tub provides concise directions, which are presented in an easy to read text with the masque being suitable for either an intensive weekly treat to the hair or as often as needed. I find that once or twice a week is sufficient for my hair type with the thick creamy white coloured masque being easy to apply after initially washing the hair with shampoo. It is recommended that a generous amount be used where it should be evenly spread over the hair from the mid-length to the tips. The masque is easy to spread and I use a wide toothed comb to ensure that the hair is fully coated and I massage a little into the roots.
I cannot admit to being too keen on the intense aroma, which is floral, but thankfully, it disperses during the rinsing process to leave a delicate and favourable scent lingering on the hair. It is recommended that the masque remain on the hair for three to five minutes and to ensure that I obtain maximum results I tightly wrap my hair inside a heated towel. Whilst I do not intend discussing the entire ingredients list, which is fairly lengthy, I would advise that the masque contains aloe barbadensis leaf juice and limnanthes alba seed oil; both of which are highly nourishing.
The masque is effortlessly rinsed from the hair without leaving any residue and I love the fact that the texture feels velvety soft and smooth, which is not something that can be achieved with normal conditioners. My hair does not feel heavy and despite having used an intensive conditioning treatment, it is extremely lightweight and can be styled as normal. I favoured the fact that whilst the product offered intensive results, it did not cause any adverse effects to my colour treated hair. Whilst I cannot admit to having noticed any difference in relation to the claimed straightening effect, I am able to confirm that the masque assists in preventing frizz and dryness to the tips for up to 48 hours, which is when I next wash my hair.
In addition, it offers smoothness to the hair and leaves it with a healthy and beautiful shine. Whilst I was pleased with the results and managed to obtain approximately ten applications from the 300 ml tub, I cannot admit to the masque offering anything different from my normal Dove products. Furthermore, Dove products are far more affordable and offer a stunning aroma as opposed to the overpowering scent that was initially evident with this product. It is due to this reason that I would not make a further purchase and feel it appropriate to remove one star.
If you are interested in purchasing Tresemme Keratin Deep Treatment Masque, it seems to be widely available in most supermarkets and stores such as Boots where it retails at £5.50. However, at the time of writing, Boots are running a three for two promotion on selected hair care, vitamins and cosmetic products.

Tresemme Vitamin C Deep Cleansing Shampoo
by BrookieFan99
==TRESemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo==
If you're the type of person who uses hair products, you will know that overtime your hair will become dull & lifeless, due to you not thoroughly washing out those products. Even if its just styling products like Hair Mousse, Hairspray, Hair Gel, Wax, Gel Spray, Sraightening / Curling ... Cream & Heat Defence Spray. This type of dull hair due to product built up requires a shampoo that is thoroughly cleansing, a type of shampoo that after washing leaves your hair feeling squeaky! I was like this at one time, & as I swim, currently twice a week, chlorine does nothing for hair either, apart from leaving it dry & dirty feeling. Whilst out shopping, in ASDA I spied TRESemme's Deep Cleansing Shampoo, & I thought that this might do considering it was for all hair types!
TRESemme is a hair care brand that we all know of, they produce everything from Hairdryers to Styling Products, so they have everything you could possibly want for hair. Only recently were they purchased by Unilever who produces the Shampoo / Conditioner & Styling Products side of it, whilst BaByliss (or Conair Group Ltd) produces the electrical side of it. TRESemme advertise themself as having professional products at supermarket prices. The Deep Cleansing Shampoo is part of the Cleanse & Replenish Range which includes this shampoo, C&R Remoisturise Conditioner & C&R 2in1 Shampoo / Conditioner. The prices for this shampoo are the usual TRESemme price, £4.69 for a 900ml in TESCO & £3.58 for a 500ml, also in TESCO. ASDA currently have 900ml bottles for £2 & I bought my 500ml bottle of Deep Cleansing from ASDA, which was £3.48, normal price. Savers have 900ml TRESemme for £2.69, also normal price, which is great value for a product like this.
TRESemme bottles are easy to recognise, their tall, fat & circular bottles sit amongst other shampoos & conditioners in many stores. The bottles are distinguishable black colour & look very professional, almost too posh to have on the side of the bath. Shampoo bottles are black with white writing & Conditioner bottles are white with black writing, so no mix ups where you accidentally apply Conditioner before Shampoo! TRESemme state that Deep Cleansing shampoo clarifies hair to remove build up & restores your hairs natural vitality. Further more they say that the formulation is gentle enough for daily use & contains Vitamin C, even though I have no idea what its for!
Unlike most shampoos which are creams, this shampoo is a thick blue gel, which if you're not careful can be sucked back in to the bottle! You only need a little bit to massage into wet hair & this little bit produces lots of lather that has a lovely salon scent! I normally wash my hair twice & the second wash tends to produce more bubbles than the first time. After you have left on for a few minutes as stated, I start to rinse & it only takes a minute of so before all of the shampoo has rinsed out of my hair. Hair has a squeaky feel that can only be described as using very cheap soap on skin! The squeaky effect dosent last long, but it certainly leaves your hair feeling very clean, perfect for when you've accidentally over done it with the dry shampoo! You certainly need a good conditioner with this product, as otherwise your hair will feel like straw when dry! This has a plus point though, it shows what hair conditioners do what they say, so its fun to use!
==Summary==
The only trouble is though, that overtime this shampoo will make a few strands of hair dry & brittle, but this hasent prevented me from using it, as it really does provide a deep clean when either after applying too many styling products, overdoing with the dry shampoo, or removing chlorine from hair. This Shampoo might not be for everybody, but for a lot of people this shampoo might be the perfect answer, for either the reasons above, or it might be cheaper than your usual shampoo. So I say, go ahead, you might be surprised! Read the complete review |

Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner
by basketofbuttons
I have discovered that since having my hair lightened, that it is now more prone to dry and split ends. It's annoying, because the roots have remained greasy and it's always difficult to find a solution in terms of a good conditioning treatment. If it's too 'heavy' then it makes my roots greasy quicker, but if it's not intensive ... enough, then obviously it does no good at all to my dry and splitting ends.
I tried to use Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner after I had read about it in a magazine. I've used lots of Tresemme products before, in fact, Tresemme used to be the only hair care range I used to use at one time, until I found that my hair seemed to be lacking somewhat in shine and manageability and I switched brands for a long time.
I bought this Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner from Boots and I paid £4.99 for a large sized 500ml bottle. This product makes fairly big clams, stating that it is made to restore the condition of my hair and repair my hair's split end problem in only three washes (!!). I thought this was a fairly unbelievable claim, to be honest but as I'm rather gullible, I decided to give it a go.
The packaging of this 'special' conditioning treatment looks much the same as every other product in the Tresemme range. The bottle is large, made of fairly flexible white plastic, with an annoying push down lid. The conditioner itself is thin to medium level consistency and almost white in colour with next to no fragrance that I was able to detect.
It doesn't feel any different to the standard Tresemme conditioner I have used previously. I don't think it added any more moisture to my hair than any other conditioners in this range did, to be honest and it certainly hasn't mended my split ends in only three washes, as the bottle claims. In fact, I have had much better results from Tesco's own brand intensive conditioning range.
This conditioner seemed to make my hair feel and look quite flat, heavy and lifeless. It rinsed out well enough but trying to blow dry my hair into my usually afterwards was a bit of a nightmare. I found it was more unmanageable and it definitely lacked life and volume.
I won't every be buying this particular conditioner again for my hair. I used almost two thirds of the bottle and though my husband has used it about three to four times, he's not made any remarks to me about how it's made a huge difference to his own hair, either.
Quite a disappointing product all round, really. Read the complete review |
