      Advantages

      Disadvantages

One of the best haircare products I have ever used!

I received this as part of a gift with separate conditioner and the blow drying spray and honestly... it is amazing!! My hair is quite fine, so I don't like to overload it with products - prefer to have the sleek look with minimal effort (don;t we all!!) and sometimes my hair just wants to do it;s own thing... but can honestly say that whenever i use the trevor sorbie range, my hair is perfect!

It smells absolutely gorgeous - and the smell lasts for ages too... then when drying it is very quick and you can actually FEEL the difference in your fingers when drying and straightening... I know that probably sounds mad, but I often use other shampoos/conditioners just so I know the products im using are still working well for my hair, and it really does.

I would recommend using the entire range, rather than just he shampoo because each product works well in it's own way. the spray is also excellent and although these arent the cheapest products on the market, you dont have to use very much of them - i have quite long hair, and they last me absolutely AGES.... Also, I holiday often, and am always more concerned about my hair before anything else, so this range is the first that i pack to take away with me - it really is that good!!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great shampoo from a salon brand

When I am not buying haircare products for myself it seems others buy me haircare products as presents. I recently received Trevor Sorbie Straightening Addict Shampoo as a part of a present from my sister in law (to be). I was hopeful that this was a good product as this was a present from a hairdresser.

      ***Packaging***

This product is part of the Trevor Sorbie hair care range which is aimed at straight hair and called "Straightening Addict". Therefore what is instantly noticeable on the packaging is that STRAIGHT is written in large font on the front of the bottle.

The product comes in a clear plastic cylinder shaped bottle and the bright pink shampoo is visable inside of the tube. The bottle is very girly looking and very attractive as the lid is tapered and the lid has a slanted flat section with the Trevor Sorbie brand name written on what looks like a brushed steel plate. Great for those that like fancy bottles on display in their bathroom.

The bottle comes in two sizes 75ml and 250ml. The 75ml bottle is a handy size to pop in a travel bag and the amount of shampoo would last for 5- 7 days if used daily.

      ***Price***

This was a present therefore free. Boots sell a 75ml bottle for £1.59and a 250ml bottle for £4.49. This is more expensive than a lot of shampoos but is averagely priced for a salon brand. I feel it is good value for money for a salon brand and more effective in its results than many of the shampoos from some of the other more "upmarket" brands.

      ***Application***

Directions for use on the bottle are " Distrubute through wet hair. Massage for 2 minutes and rinse. Use the complete straightening addict range".

Although the product is more effective when used with the other products in the range it is still effective used alone as a shampoo therefore do not feel that it is essential to run out and buy all products from the Trevor Sorbie range.

To dispense the product you have to tip this in your hand. The product is quite thick and therefore it is difficult to get out of the tube when you have wet hands. The shampoo is a bright pink liquid. The colour and consistency is very much like strawberry fromage frais yoghurt, which is very unusual for shampoo.

The scent of the shampoo is gorgeous and one of my favourite smelling shampoos. This scent is quite strong but not overpowering and it reminds me of a perfume more than a shampoo. It is a light fresh and fruity scent with a slight hint of raspberry but only very slight.

The shampoo is thick but it easily is lathered into hair and a fair amount of lather is achieved. The product rinses out of hair very easily and has a lovely fresh scent to it after rinsing and the shampoo still almost smells like a perfume.

      ***Results***

After drying my hair my hair immediately felt very soft and it appeared shiny. My hair felt very smooth and had a lovely clean scent to it. The strong scent was still apparent and even Mr Lools commented on how nice my hair smelt.

I then used my GHD's on my hair and after styling my hair it looked fantastic and had a great shine to it. My hair looked clean and although very smooth and shiny it remained bouncy and still had volume to it. Some products aimed at straightening hair often leave my hair in my opinion straight but too flat looking. This is not the case with this Trevor Sorbie Shampoo. I have used the shampoo with other products from the Trevor Sorbie Straightening Addict range and with other products and in both cases the shampoo is very effective. I feel this shampoo is great for keeping hair in good condition and minimising heat damage as my hair looks very smooth after use and frizz free.

      ***Overall***

This is a very good product and a good example of a salon quality shampoo. Hair is left shiny, soft, manageable and in great condition especially on hair which is straightened on a daily basis. The sent of the shampoo is lovely and smells more like a perfume than a shampoo. A great product if you have some extra cash to spend on a "salon" quality shampoo. Would definitely recommend.

        Will You Become An Addict?!

This is my favourite shampoo that I have ever used! It makes your hair look and feel AMAZING! And I recommend this to everyone Im sure you will like/love it!
Trevor Sorbie has a whole straightening addict range and its all just as brilliant as the shampoo and can come seperatley or as part of a set. I got the small bottle in a set a few years ago for a birthday present and I have never stopped buying it, when I can actually afford it that is! People who straighten or hair dry their hair a lot will also like this as it protects the hair from heat damage whilst making it look better and shinier. I persoanlly love this whole range by Trevor Sorbie and hope he continues to make loads more fabulous products for me!!

        Appearance & Packaging:
A small bottle contains around 100ml of shampoo in a plastic bottle which is fully recyclable. The shampoo inside the bottle is light pink in colour and has sort of a glittery look to it but dont worry that doesnt transfer to your hair. It has the Trevor Sorbie lettering a logo on the screw top of the bottle. And on the back of it a list of ingredients including methyl eicosanoic acid - a lipid that is the key to natural shine.

        Price & Stockists:
This is based on a 100ml bottle.
Boots: £3.19 (on sale at the moment)
        Superdrug: £4.40
Funnily enough those were the only sites I could find it on for some reason but I know from experience they always have this product in the Boots stores and you can get the 100ml bottle for less than £5 which isnt great considering its only a tiny bottle that doesnt last very long, so thats a downside.

10/10 LOVE IT! And it actually works!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Lovely fragrence, leaves your hair is lovely condition. especially when you are addicted to straigh

I bought this product from Boots when it was on special three for two and I love it.

I bought it along with the Straightening Addict conditioner and heat protection spray.

The shampoo comes in a 250ml clear frosted plastic bottle. The shampoo itself is pink.

This is the ideal preparation for healthy looking, sleek, super straight hair. The replenishing formula gently cleanses and helps protect heat-damaged hair, creating soft and silky hair with superb shine.

The shampoo leaves a lovely fruity fresh smell right up until the next wash.

Prices vary from shop to shop but it is normally approx £4.50 but it can be bought on offer sometimes from shops like Boots. Sometimes they do three for two. At the moment there is an offer for 3 for £10.

This is a very reasonable price for your hair and this product definately makes your hair soft and strong and repairs any heat damage.

Before using this my hair was in bad condition and within two weeks it was much better. I use this as much as I can now.

The only downfall with this product is that it is thin and can sometimes run through your fingers and therefore some could be wasted.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

I would not buy this again

I bought this from Boots as part of a set (with the conditoner, serum and heat protection spray) thinking it would be great as Trevor Sorbie is a well known hairdressing brand. While I loved the 2 styling products, the shampoo and conditioner are somewhat lacking.

As this review is about the shampoo, I am going to stay on topic here though.

Right well the bottle...it is a 200ml transparent frosted bottle with pink and red detailing on it and red and grey lettering. The lid slopes downwards and has the Trevor Sorbie Professional logo printed on in grey. You open it by flipping up the lid and the you squeeze the shampoo out. The shampoo itself is a bright pink pearlescent colour.

You need to use quite a bit to get a decent lather and even then the lather is not particularly rich and creamy, which I do not like.

It does not feel moisturising at all, it actually feels as though it is taking moisture out of my hair which is not what it is supposed to.

My hair always feels as though it has been really thoroughly cleansed afterwards and feels fresh and as though it is not weighed down by products at all which is good - that is the way it feels when my hairdresser washes it too, but I just think it feels a little bit too clean. I know that sounds odd but it feels a bit stripped of moisture and a tad lacklustre afterwards.

It rinses out well and I am only about halfway through the bottle after using it daily for 4 weeks so it certainly has lasted a long time which I am impressed with. It is OK but I would not recommend it to a friend.

I am giving it 3 stars as it smells nice, is well packaged and does give a really deep clean. However I don't think it gives a rich enough lather and it leaves my hair feeling too dry afterwards.

        Repair your heat damaged locks!

What is it with me and smellies? All I have asked for at Christmas is products to pamper myself silly with! After reading a review on this product, I got so excited at the thought of trying a new shampoo on my hair so I rushed onto the Boots website, and ordered myself this shampoo in a miniature bottle that cost only £1.59.

        WHO IS TREVOR SORBIE?
        ------
Trevor Sorbie is a male hairdresser who began cutting hair at the age of just 14. It wasn't long before he was a stylist for Vidal Sassoon and then working for Toni & Guy and John Frieda. He opened his first salon in 1979 and launched a hair care range in 1986 which is still going strong to this day. He was also awarded an MBE in 2006.

        THIS PRODUCT
        ------
This particular Trevor Sorbie product claims to be the ideal preparation for healthier looking hair. To get this sort of hair obviously you need to take care of it yourself but with pollution in the air and the use of straightners and hair dryers these days, we are gradually ruining our hair.

This shampoo is designed specifically for people like me who use their hair dryer almost every night. Luckily, I don't need to straighten my hair, but if I did, I would be ruining it twice as fast. The formula in this shampoo is supposed to repair and protect heat damaged hair, so I suppose you can only imagine how excited I was at the thought of repairing my heat damaged hair.

With the help of some of the ingredients such as Benzophenone 3 or 4, which absorbs UV light and 18 methyl eicosanoic acid which is the key to natural looking shine, I was definitely expecting my hair to look, feel and actually become more healthier.

        THE BOTTLE
        ------
I really like the design of the bottle. It's designed the same way as most other Trevor Sorbie shampoos and conditioners. A slim long bottle with a slanted cap. The bottle is see-through so you can see the product so it's easily recogniseable when you are running out. All the information you could ever need to know is on the bottle, including the product name, the ingredients and directions for use.

        THE SMELL
        ------
This smell is quite unusual actually. It's not really fruity and it's not all that strong, but for some reason, it kind of reminds me of a Strawberry Milkshake with a little perfume zest. Yes thats kind of a weird description, but it's definitely not a common 'shampoo' sort of smell.

        THE TEXTURE
        ------
I really like the texture of this shampoo. To begin with, when you pour it onto your hand, it's quite runny but still has a thickness to it and it looks pearly in the right light. Once I have applied the shampoo, you are advised to massage it in for 2 minutes, but I can't be bothered to stand there rubbing my head for 120 seconds so I usually do it for about 45 seconds. The texture of the foam is really soft and you really do work up a lather, but not too much so you could have a bubble bath with the foam! The smell lingers around the shower for a good amount of time aswell, even after you've rinsed.

        MY OVERALL OPINION
        ------
I must point out I used this shampoo in conjunction with the corresponding conditioner, but I only tend to condition a little of my roots and more of the tips of my hair so it makes it easier for combing with my hair being so long.

Once I had dried my hair the usual way, I took a look in the mirror and was definitley impressed by how silky it looked. It certainly did look alot healthier even after just one useage! When I rang my fingers through my hair it felt so soft I found it hard to stop! Now, I tend to wash my hair on a night, dry it and then sleep on it so I don't have to do it in the morning before work, because it would be abit of a rush because there is so much hair to blow-dry. With the majority of shampoos and conditioners I have tried, I have woken up in the morning to find my hair uneven, straggly and even sometimes greasy. Before I used this product, I was using the Tigi Bed Head range for Brunettes and this is probably the best thing I have ever used. However, it now has some competition because Trevor Sorbie has created a legend. I can wake up in the morning and see that my hair is the same as how it was before I got into bed, there is no mess, no knots and no straggly wavy bits of hair.

After continued use, I noticed that my hair is really starting to look like it's in better condition. It doesn't look dry and whispy at the front of my hair anymore where it obviously had too much heat on it at some point, it now looks smooth, defined and repaired. Knowing that this product is now protecting my hair from constant heat makes me confident that I will always have healthy looking hair.

Trevor Sorbie is a salon quality brand but can be bought in most supermarkets or shops like Boots and Superdrug. Tigi Bed Head can only be bought in salons and online and is probably double the price of Trevor's products. My verdict? I think that if you can get the same results as a salon quality product by using a cheaper range, then it's obvious i'm going to choose the cheaper range. Once I have run out of my miniature bottles of Trevor Sorbie, I will be buying bigger bottles of it. I have used this product now for over a week and have got the same results all the time, so it would stupid of me to buy a bottle that cost £12 when I could buy a bottle that was £5 and get the same results.

I would highly recommend this product for girls and women who constantly straighten and blow-dry their hair. If it's looking a little dry in places because the heat has damaged it then this product is going to repair those patches and give you excellent results. Please do not be put off by the price, especially if you've bought Tigi Bed Head products in the past, the cost of this product is nothing.

Please remember that as with most shampoo's that claim to repair and protect, it doesn't take just one usage, you will have to continually use it for a while to take full advantage of it's perks. I for one will be using this shampoo on a regular basis now and will recommend this to anybody suffering from heat damaged hair.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Super shampoo!

I have a bit of a thing for trying lots of different shampoos at the moment, so when I had the chance to get a free trial size of this shampoo I jumped at the chance. I have never tried any Trevor Sorbie products before, so I didn't know what to expect, or even if I would like it. I tried this for the first time this weekend, and a few times since so I have made sure I have used it enough to give it a fair review.

This is one of the growing trend of designer hair care products on the market at the moment. Trevor Sorbie is a famour hairdresser who has a salon in Convent Garden, London, and a vast range of hair care products. He was awarded British Hairdresser of the Year 4 times, and has also received an MBE. He is also a pioneer in terms of wigs and styling, and has set up a network called "My New Hair" for those who suffer with hair loss.

Now this product is part of Sorbie's hair care range, which is called "Straightening Addict". The range is for people who regularly use hair dryers and straightening irons to keep their hair straight and sleek looking. This shampoo claims to be able to Protect, repair and replace moisture into your hair that all the heat of your appliances does to it. It is quite an extensive range but I will list the other products further down.

The shampoo comes in a very attractive looking bottle, and is very girly looking, so not much good for you men out there who straighten your hair! It comes in a clear plastic bottle, with the Trevor Sorbie logo in bright red on the bottle, with a slanted lid with a grey sticket with the Sorbie name and logo as well. The range name is under the logo on the bottle. The shampoo itself is a gorgeous bright pink colour, I can't say I have ever used a pink shampoo before! To use, simply unscrew the lid and squeeze the bottle to push the shampoo out through the spout. I would prefer a pump or something, but the design works okay and the shampoo is easily dispensed and doesn't leak.

It does smell really lovely, quite fruity and sweet, which is very nice. I didn't need to use too much on my hair, as I find that it foams up very easily and is easy to move right throughout your hair. When I rinsed it out of my hair, I found my hair felt really clean and soft and tangle free, even though I hadn't used any conditioner on it at all. I was pretty impressed by this point and eager to see how it would affect my hair when it was dried.

I used my usual hair dryer and paddle brush to dry it and was supremely impressed straight away! After my hair was completely dried, it was soft, shiny and felt really healthy. It didn't feel at all dry or coarse, it felt really nourished, like the intense heat from my dryer hadn't affected it at all. My hair wasn't too knotty either, and even on the second day my hair was still soft and smooth. Very impressive!

Ingredients and what they do (from the TS website):
18 methyl eicosanoic acid - a lipid that is the key to natural shine
Benzophenone 3 or 4 - a water soluble filter that absorbs UV light which can cause colour fade and breakdown of the hair's natural structure
Panthenol - pro Vitamin B5 which improves shine
Phytantriol - works with Panthenol to enhance conditioning effect
Polyquaternium 7 - Film forming polymer that gives condition to the hair by smoothing the cuticles
Polyquaternium-10 - conditioning film-forming polymer that gives body by smoothing the cuticles

You can buy this in 2 different sizes. The larger bottle as shown in the picture above contains 250ml of shampoo, and costs me £4.49 in my local Boots store, quite good value as I expect it to last a while. You can also buy a "to go" size, which contains 75 of shampoo, probably enough for a week's use for me and costs £1.59 in Boots. These are great for when you are going on holiday and can't take your giant bottle with you.

So my overall opinion is that this is a very good value for money nourishing shampoo for your hair, especially great for people who like to straighten their hair a lot. This will really look after your hair, infusing it with lots of moisture and protecting it from the heat of your hairdryer. My hair stays nice and soft and shiny, and it smells lovely as well. Brilliant, I was so impressed that I have now purchased a big bottle of the stuff!
