Advantages: Works really well

Disadvantages: Prices can all add up

From having naturally wavy/curly hair I find it very hard to tame my locks! Since buying a pair of ceramic straightners I've found myself straightning my curls out all the time after washing my hair but I've recently realised that by doing this I'm loosing my curls which makes my hair even harder to look after when I come out of the shower! If I keep on using my straightners after washing my locks, not only will my hair become damaged, I will also loose my curls. Many people with curly hair would think this is super and that is what I thought to begin with but now I realise that I am actually quite gifted! I can have straight or curly hair whenever it suits me and curly hair is definitely more classier this summer!

This leads me on to talk about a new shampoo and conditioner range I've recently bought. The range is UMBERTO GIANNINI. I had never heard of this range before I bought some products from it and I have to say I've been very pleased with the products and how well they work. I bought three simple products to start with and I am yet to go back and buy some more.

The shampoo and conditioner for curly hair looked interesting so I bought them along with the scrunching gel. They were on offer at the time in BOOTS. I managed to buy all three products for just under ten pounds which was a bargain for how well they work. I also managed to nab a few points onto my boots advantage card ~ Always handy!!!

I might as well write about all three products instead of just the conditioner as they're all pretty simalar...

The first products you use are the shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The shampoo is called UMBERTO GIANNINI CURL FRIENDS KEEP CALM SHAMPOO:

What first attracted me to the range itself was the packaging of the products, the bottles were bright, attractive and distinctive. The shampoo was in a reasonably tall bottle with clear plastic to see the pink shampoo in the bottle and a silver

rounded lid. The writing on the product was on the clear plastic part. It included a saying, ' FOR THE GLOSSIEST FRIZZ-FREE CURLS AND WAVES' which also interested me.

The bottle was 250ml and has lasted since around feb-march time, however I only use the shampoo when I want curly hair, not when I'm going to straighten my hair. The bottle includes some directions on the back: Wet hair and gently massage shampoo throughout hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if you use lots of styling products. Follow with Curl Friends conditioner and styling products. The bottle also has a proffesional tip: Be careful not to over rub and tangle hair while shampooing. Be gentle and always smooth downwards through the hair.

The shampoo itself is pink in colour and really thick, much thicker than any normal shampoo. Although the bottle tells you to use quite a lot, I don't think you need that much at all. The shampoo has a distinctive smell, nothing amazing but quite pleasant and the smell will remain in your bathroom for a while after washing which I find quite nice.

Next you use the UMBERTO GIANNINI CURL FRIENDS EASY COMB SUPER RICH CONDITIONER:

The bottle is exactly the same as the shampoo but you can notice that the conditioner is a different colour. It is still pink but lighter and the conditioner is not a gel, it is more cream like. The bottle has the same saying on the front and is again 250ml. The directions say: Shampoo and remove excess moisture. Using the flats of the hands or a comb, smooth the conditioner evenly through the hair. Massage carefully by adding a little water. Rinse thoroughly and follow with curl friends styling products. The proffesional tip says: For even smoother hair, use cool water for a final rinse.

The conditioner itself is very think like the shampoo and I often squeeze out more than is needed from the bottle. You only need the tiniest of blobs even though it seems you need

After leaving the shower, I blow dry my hair using a diffuser to bring out my curls and waves. My hair has bleach in it so sometimes I leave a little conditioner in the ends of my hair. after blow drying my hair the curls are bouncy and you can see the shampoo and conditioner has made a difference but my hair often needs to be lifted a little and so I use another Umberto Giannini product: UMBERTO GIANNINI CURL FRIENDS SCRUNCHING JELLY.

This product is brilliant, it really creates bouncier curls in seconds. The bottle is like any normal squeezy hair product and is a pink gel. It says on the front of the bottle: SUPER HOLD CURL CREATOR TO TEASE AND FORM CURLS AND WAVES. It has 200ml of gel and has lasted me since feb-march. I tend to blow dry the gel into my hair with my diffuser and then it acts as a hair spray for the curls. However the directions on the bottle read as follows: Apply to towel dried hair. Dispense gel into hands, rub hands together and smooth through hair section by section. Shape with fingers and scrunch dry naturally or blow dry with a diffuser for desired look. The proffesional tip reads: Use rollers, pins or braids to position hair and allow to dry naturally as an alternative look.

These three products really help to cut down on frizziness with my hair and make it look half decent although very wild! I really do recomend the products. I bought them from BOOTS but have seen them in other well known retailers. Umberto Giannini has products for all hair types so if you're not curly, maybe you can try another of his products! I bought all three products on offer, however at normal and individual prices the products can be a bit pricy. I think each product is around £4-5 which all adds up when you buy more than one product!!

I hope I've helped anyone and thanks for reading, here is an address or telephone number if you wish to receive anymore information on the products I have writte

I normally use the Frizz Ease curl range but I may well try this shampoo and conditioner now to compare it. Thanks.

I reverted back to curly hairdom recently and haven't regretted it since. Straightening hair so too much trouble and, as you say, highly damaging for your hair.

Haven' t tried this range, but am having some success with the John Frieda Frizz Ease products.

My mother used to use brown paper and an iron - even cheaper! Great op.
