“ Brand: Umberto Giannini / Type: Hair Shampoo / What it does: Cleanses, „
I was given a gift set recently with this Umberto Giannini miniature shampoo in it alongside the conditioner.
~ Packaging ~
It comes in a light yellow coloured bottle with silver writing on it and a silver domed lid.
~ Price and availability ~
Umberto Giannini Dazzling Shine shampoo is available in a 250ml bottle from Boots for £5.60. It often comes up on their 3 for 2 offers.
~ In Use ~
The shampoo is a transparent yellow colour, which I thought was unusual for shampoo. It is quite thin in consistency making it easy to get out of the bottle, which is always a good thing especially as you’re coming to the end of the bottle.
It has a lovely, subtle, floral scent. I find that the scent lingers in my hair after using this shampoo as well, which is great.
It creates a nice, thick, soapy lather and makes my hair feel clean as soon as I have lathered the product up and applied it to my hair.
It makes my hair feel fresh, soft and hydrated. Some shampoos make my hair feel dry as soon as I’ve washed my hair, but this one makes me feel as though I don’t even have to use a conditioner with it. Apparently clear shampoos tend to be more hydrating.
I have enjoyed using this shampoo, but I can’t justify £5.60 for 250ml. I like to buy larger bottles of shampoo so that they last longer. I have long hair and I wash it every day so I got through shampoo quite quickly. I can find larger bottles of shampoo for quite a bit less than £5.60.
Cheaper branded shampoos still work well for me and make my hair feel clean and allow me to keep my hair in good condition so I don’t think paying more has any more benefits. I would just be paying for the nice scent, which is unique to this shampoo.
I don’t think I would buy this again for myself, but I am glad to have received it in the gift set that I was given and I would be happy to receive it again in the future.
If you usually buy shampoo for around the £5.00 it is a nice shampoo and it is very hydrating, but for me the price is not worth it.
--What you get--
Fresh smelling "shine" shampoo.
--Value for money--
Though I do love Umberto Giannini products, I do think they are a little pricey at £4.89 for 250ml. You have to buy the matching conditioner separately so unless they are on offer thats nearly a tenner to wash your hair!! They last a while if you use them sparingly though I am prone to use too much hair product.
--My personal opinion--
I enjoy using this product as it lathers up really easily and you can let it sit in your hair for a while without your hair getting greasy. It's fresh scent explodes as soon as you use it, and it keeps your hair smelling fresh for a considerable amount of time after. I tend to wash my hair every two days and it continues to feel clean unless I have been doing exercise or in a greasy environment.
I like this hair product as my boyfriend loves the scent of it too and always compliments me on how nice my hair smells after I have been using it. The scent can be described as fresh and quite fruity, though no particular fruit is identifiable, it just smells generally fruity!
The product is slightly overpriced and I probably wouldn't buy it every time I needed a new shampoo! One bottle lasts me approximately six weeks when using it with the conditioner too. I don't really like two in one shampoo conditioners as I like to use shampoo first then apply conditioner to the ends or my hair will become greasy too quickly.
I have always found that this product effectively removes any build up of grease and you rarely need to wash twice unless you are using a strong hair product.
It goes well with the conditioner in the range and also looks nice in your bathroom in an attractive yellow clear bottle. The colour of the product is light yellow, which reminds me of it's fruity tones.
Buy this product if you have some spare cash to spend on a really quality product as it leaves hair smelling great, but it is not budget friendly!
I have used this brand for several years now, and have tried quite a few of their products. Overall most products have been excellent and have done exactley what it says on the label. In fact there has only ever been one exception to this which was a curling jelly, other that this is without doubt my favourate haircare brand.
A while ago I had my hair dyed to a golden blonde colour. Now anyone who has ever been any shade of blonde will know that it is very hard to get a nice shine on light hair, perticularly as the colour starts to fade. At the time I had healthy hair and even the stylist had commented on what a good condition it was in, so I knew it had to be to do with the colour because I had never had this problem before.
I went out to look for shine enhancing products and ended up trying quite a few, trouble was they tended to make my hair look greasy rather than shiny. To be honest I can't even remember how or why I ended up trying this one but I did and it really stood out from the rest.
I washed my hair using both the dazzling shine shampoo and conditioner and couldn't believe the result! My hair had volume AND shine for the first time ever. People actually commented on how shiny my hair was and it really brought out all the golden tones in my highlighted hair.
You can often pick this up in Boots for about £3.50 a bottle when it's on offer, which is pretty good as it lasts for ages and you really don't need to use a lot, even on very long hair.
My hair has always been thick, coarse and frizzy, and I must have used a million products on it over the years. It's thinned out a bit as I've got older, but, although it has a natural curl, it frizzes up at the slightest opportunity. I bought a Brilliant Shine gift pack last year to take on holiday to St Lucia, purely because it was travel size - I wasn't expecting it be anything special. Was I wrong! Somehow, it actually DOES what every other shampoo for frizzy hair claims to do, but never delivers. My hair was beautifully soft and shiny, even in a hot, humid climate - the ultimate test. The best shampoo/conditioner I've ever used. Buy some!!!
I came across this shampoo while shopping in Boots. My hair was looking tired and dull and I was looking for a new shampoo. I spotted this because it was on a three for two offer. Not one to pass up on a bargain I took a closer look and decided to give it a try.
This brilliant shine shampoo comes in a clear plastic bottle with a silver top and is easily spotted by it summery lemon colour. It is suitable for use on all hair types. Printing on the bottle tells you it is a deep cleansing, fresh smelling, shine boosting ,delectable shampoo. It is made in the U.K and comes in a 250ml bottle. You can aslo purchase this in a 75ml travel size.
It lathers up very well and has a lovely fresh smell. It rinses out of your hair very easily and leaves your hair feeling very fresh and clean.
After just one use I noticed the difference in my hair, it did look very shiny and bright. I am now using this shampoo all the time.
Pricewise it does not come cheap. The average cost is £4.19 for a 250ml bottle. If you get it on a three for two offer it brings the cost down. Because of the difference it has made to my hair I think it is worth every penny.

I requested this link to be added because as anyone who reads my reviews now knows I'm addicted to hair products! I love em and up until recently I bought whatever looked interesting and was cheap in pound shops and the like hence to add that nothing was any good so I wasn't impressed and therefore never bought anything 'expensive'. That all changed just before Christmas when I spent an absolute fortune on stuff in Boot's and got loads of £2.00 off vouchers on the higher end of the market hair care products. I've never spent so much on my hair even with the money off and nowadays I'm still using all the stuff I bought and very pleased I am with it all too but still and I'm buying bits and pieces of the good stuff lol
So I came across this in a bargain bucket in somewhere I think I'm getting addicted to which is T.J Hughes! Now I only bought the a sample tube and it has a different name to the link I found. It is the same product but its changed its name ever so slightly this is why I got it cheap!
Umberto Giannini 'Mini's' Dazzling Shine Out From The Crowd Shampoo (Ultimate Shine, All Hair Types) in the mini size comes in a foil feel tube which is recyclable and the size is 50ml. It's a gold/yellow colour with black writing on it and it opens at the bottom by a clear twist on/off cap. On the back tells me the promise of using the product, directions for use, contact details for Umberto Giannini, and ingredients.
'So.... you want shiny, glossy hair with weightless soft texture? SHINE is a regime that moisturises, protects, tames frizz and achieves a light reflecting lustre to even the dullest hair'.
Well I wash my hair through twice with this shampoo. It takes about the size of a 10p piece and the liquid is quite thick and clear and you can smell what seems to be of flowers and fruit oils but it's not distinct just very fresh and delicate. It lathers up lovely and washes out easily. Personally I have never used the matching conditioner as I bought this for nights when I go out as a little treat with sachets of conditioners and treats for my hair after using it.
As I said it washes out very easily and although hair needs conditioning afterwards hair doesn't 'feel' like it must have a drink of conditioner. It's none drying and I can get a comb through my barnet with ease and I can tell my hair is more defined and less frizzy just to the touch before using conditioner.
This product keeps it's promise. Yes I use a separate conditioner but I have used them alongside other shampoos and not had the same results. My hair is soft, smooth and silky. Frizz is irradiated and the most important promise is the shine and yes it wins out on that score too! I have black hair which is dyed so I expect my hair to be shiny anyway but with this it really look does appear to have a mirror like shine that can't be faulted and I've even had comments on it! Hair smells lovely and not overpowered, frizz really is tamed and if I don't want to use other hair products to style I actually don't have to as after using this shampoo my hair knows how to behave itself!
Simply it's a really beautiful shampoo that I cant stop raving about My hair has never felt so hydrated and glossy. It's just terrific ladies!
I got my sample size in T.J Hughes for 50p but this size is £1.79 in Boot's and full size I have seen at it's cheapest for £3.49 a bottle and it's worth it's price tag even if you just use it for special occasions! ( which is what I do!).
This shampoo was great to use. It was easy to apply and lathered up well. When applied it goes really far and goes onto your hair really well. I liked the packaging as well, its really sleek and looks nice on your bathroom shelf. When used the shampoo cleans hair really well and leaves it feeling clean and refreshed. I found that when I used this shampoo it left my hair managable and soft. I have been using this product for some time and have enjoyed using it. When I us ethis shampoo I can style it easily and it dries very, very shiny and managable. I also find the travel sized versions of this product so, so useful for taking to the gym. It adds a real sence of luxury to your workout shower. As I said I liked this product and found it really, really suited my hair.
