“ Brand: Umberto Giannini / Type: Body & Hair Shampoo / Suitable for: Body & Hair „
i am a bit hair obsessed and like to try a range of hair care products in an attempt to find those that will help to tame my unruly locks! I really like L'Oreal but use other brands at times. I often shop in Boots and had accumulated a vast number of points,so decided to treat myself to some *free* goodies. I admit I am attracted by stylish packaging and so decided to buy a bottle of Umberto Giannini shampoo and matching conditioner. As it was also on offer the two bottles cost me £8 worth of points. The shampoo alone is priced at £5.29.
The purple plastic bottle is topped with a gold shiny lid giving the product a very stylish, top end look. The price also lead me to believe this shampoo was going to be something special! I have fine, frizzy hair that is prone to dryness. This shampoo promises to give extra body and shine. I usually wash my hair in the shower and was really looking forward to trying this new addition to my growing collection! I was expecting the shampoo to be thick and luxurious so was a a little disappointed to find it is clear and quite runny. I was also expecting a lovely scent but again was really disappointed. The shampoo is quite sweet but in a chemically sort of way. It reminds me of cheap perfume! Luckily the smell doesn't last! The shampoo does rinse out well .
Having allowed my hair to dry naturally, I was really disappointed with the results. My hair did look and feel clean, but it also felt dry and far from looking like it had extra body, looked more frizzy than usual! Overall I am really disappointed with this shampoo and will definitely not be buying it again! I really don't see how the high price tag can be justified!
I bought this a while ago on a random spree in Boots. I was looking for new hair products and I always want something to give my hair extra volume so this seemed like a good option. The Umberto Giannini range was on offer at the time sovI picked up the shampoo, matching conditioner and a smoothing cream for £10. The usual price is £5.29.
It comes in a purple bottle with a tall domed gold lid which looks quite phallic to be perfectly honest, as my boyfriend pointed out in not so many words! I think it looks nice but it's not really practical at all as it doesn't have a flip top or press top lid, it just pours straight out of the bottle which means it's not that easy to control how much you get out and can easily waste loads.
The shampoo is quite thick in consistency and makes a thick lather very quickly. It feels really refreshing as I massage it in and it rinsed out quickly. It has a very fresh scent with a hint of fruitiness but to me it seems mainly a fresh marine type scent.
After I've used it my hair feels fresh and light and looks clean and healthy, but I don't think it looks as shiny as usual which is a shame especially as it makes me wonder what it's actually doing to my hair. My hair feels quite smooth and soft but there is no sign of any extra body even after styling so I don't feel it lives up to it's name.
All in all I really don't think this shampoo is worth the money at all, the packaging is impractical, it dulls my hair and it doesn't give any of the promised body or volume. Not recommended.
