“ Brand: Umberto Giannini / Type: Hair Moisturiser / Subcategory: Moisturiser / What it does: Moisturizes, „
I'm a hair product marketing person's nightmare. My hair hasn't seen a hairdresser in over 20 years, mainly because too many hairdressers in the past decided to do their own thing and carry out a radical restyling that wasn't welcome. (My hair isn't down to my feet - my partner trims it for me, which is all I ever wanted the hairdressers to do in the first place). My hair's long, thick and tends towards dryness. To make matters worse, I can't usually be bothered doing much about it - unruly hair has become a part of me I can live with.
I got a pot of Umberto Giannini Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask in a hair care gift from my mum (it wasn't a hint - my mum just loves to buy up the '3 for 2' Christmas gifts in Boots). The mask usually retails at £5.61 for a 200ml pot.
The moisture mask comes in a white plastic pot with a screw-on lid. To apply the mask, which has a thick white cream appearance, you have to dig some of the mask out of the pot using your fingers and apply to wet hair as you would do with a conditioner. The instructions for the mask say that it should be a once a week treatment, and that it should be left on the hair for at least three minutes before rinsing off - there's also a tip that the longer it's left on, the better the results will be.
I've only tried leaving the mask on for the minimum amount of time so far. I'm not in the habit of doing lengthy hair treatments, and it appealed to me that I could try this and get away with only leaving it on for a few minutes. When I rinsed my hair, it had a noticeably softer texture, even before drying. It did feel as if the product was still 'clinging' to my hair slightly, but I like squeaky clean hair and am not used to the feel of products that leave traces on the hair.
The scent of the hair mask isn't unpleasant. It isn't easily describable except to say that it's a fresh conditioner smell. The scent did cling to my hair a little longer than I'm used to, and about half an hour after use I caught myself thinking, 'mothballs?' before remembering it was the hair mask. I'm sure the producers of this product would hate to think of it being compared to mothballs, but in a distracted frame of mind that's what a whiff of the scent reminded me of.
This moisture mask did actually do a decent job of sorting out my unruly hair, which was shinier and smoother when dried. I can see why it's only a once a week product, as it does leave the hair feeling a little heavy and coated, and I don't think it would do greasy hair any good at all. My hair returns to frizziness a few days after using the mask though, so I can't say that it conditions well enough to skip conditioning for the rest of the week, but I would probably use this mask if I was going out somewhere and wanted my hair to behave.
I have had my plastic screw top jar for quite some time as I bought it with a couple of other products from their range when Boots had a three for two offer. I first came across this brand when my daughter used to buy their curl enhancing stuff and their rather expensive shampoos and conditioners.
Umberto Giannini was a real person rather than a company and he started work at fifteen in his uncle's hairdressing salon. He became very successful as a stylist winning the British Hairdresser of the Year award in 1999 and he was the youngest winner ever. He built up a mini empire of hair dressing salons in the UK and also launched the equally successful range of hair products which are still sold today in Boots and some other retailers as well as the salons he started.
I knew nothing about the man or his company until writing this review and was quite saddened to read that he died in 2001 at the very young age of thirty three of a rare muscle wasting disease. Anyway he won't be forgotten as his products are excellent but it is always sad when a young person with so much promise for a great future dies so young.
WHAT DO YOU PAY AND HOW DO I FIND IT?
The plastic screw top cream coloured jar or pot holds 200ml and is a subtle creamy colour with gold writing. The product is a pearly thick cream and the screw top keeps it in good condition.
The cost of this from Boots is £7.50 but at times they do the three products for the price of two so I wait to make my purchases till then
This is one of their Indulgent spa range and the whole range is packaged in the rather understated luxurious cream and gold colour scheme.
WHAT IS INSIDE
This is an intensive conditioning treatment designed to be " a real wonder product giving not just great hydrating results but also a texture that is weightless and loose and a sublime blow dry result."
That is a pretty big claim; is it justified? I used to put this on my hair and leave it on overnight. I would wrap my hair in a scarf. Yes, I know most attractive but I only did it about once a month so it wasn't as though it was a nightly look.
It contains a veritable chemical concoction of unpronounceable things so is far from being a natural product but is has a really lovely fresh slightly herby scent. I found the smell really stayed in my hair too even after washing it the next day.
I have thick, course curly hair and am always envious of those with silky locks that shine like a shampoo advert and so I spend a lot of time and money on products that keep my hair in good condition and give it a nice shine.
This conditioner really does make my hair feel healthy and it doesn't weigh it down either. It washes out easily and after using this I just shampoo with no further conditioner. Sometimes I just rinse it out without shampoo and that works too and then you get the lovely scented herby smell staying in your hair longer.
My air feels soft and not at all weighed down which can sometimes happen with these intensive conditioners. I always think my hair looks a bit more shiny too when I have used this. And my hair feels really healthy.
The active ingredients in this are Florentine orris milk and shea butters as well as the many other parabens and strange sounding things but whatever it contains it does the job well.
HOW TO USE
The idea is that you take enough of the product to coat your hair. I have sometimes really massaged it in and at other times I have just put a small amount on the ends of my hair. I think it is up to you how you apply it and how much. It is for all hair types but they do say if you have fine hair to use it sparingly.
It Is really designed to restore moisture to dried, tired, damaged hair so those with greasy fine hair might want to try another product as this could be rather heavy for you.
If your hair is very dry and damaged you can use this as a daily conditioner until moisture and shine is restored but I found once a month with my method of putting it on overnight was perfect for me and that way my pot lasted about a year.
How much do you use? Well they say apply enough to coat damp hair. As I have said I put it on dry hair over night too and that worked well. You are supposed to leave it on damp hair for five minutes then rinse out with warm water.
So you can just use this as an intensive conditioner like any other conditioner it is up to you and trial and error will sort the method that works best for you.
WATCH OUT FOR
Be very careful NOT to get this so that it gets into your eyes as it stings. They also say that should you accidently get any in your eye that you should rinse your eyes well with water straight away.
ALSO OF INTEREST
The pot has the recycling symbol on it so it can be recycled with other plastics. The product contains natural extracts so sometimes the colour varies between one bottle and the next.
The company do NOT test their products on animals which is another plus point in my book,
This is about the third pot of this lovely indulgent product that I have just finished and I find that as I don't use this daily I don't have to buy it too often. If you were to use it on a daily basis then I would say it might give you a month's use but as I use it only when I feel my hair is needing a bit of a treat I find mine lasts about a year. The product has natural ingredients but I haven't found that the quality has declined in the time that I have had this bottle so it obviously has some sort of preservatives in there.
I love the smell, it isn't sweet at all, more fresh herby and quite sensual. It gives my dull hair a nice gentle sheen without making it at all greasy. I have had no reaction from using this despite all the parabens but if you do have allergies then check the ingredients first.
I would certainly recommend that you give it a try, especially when Boots have their offer on which is good time to buy it.
Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username.
It's rare to find a hair mask that is suitable for all hair types and Umberto Giannini's indulgent moisture mask is one of the best I've found. Not only does it smell delicious, it nourishes hair deep and creates shiny, glossy, healthy looking and feeling hair in relatively no time at all. Ideal.
The hair mask comes encased in a white/pearl tub with a beautiful image of a woman with long luscious locks on the lid. The artwork itself is spread across the entire Umberto Giannini BEAUTY SECRETS range and makes a dramatic difference to the large number of simple bottles of hair product out there. The tub is finished off with silver embossed text and hot pink and black lettering. The tub I purchased was 200ml in size and can cost between £4-£7. There may be further discounts available online. The tub has an easily unscrewable lid and looks to hold a large amount. It is a perfect product to have beside the bath.
The mask itself is rich and thick and you can tell of its quality just by it's feel. It sinks in to hair slowly but surely (though I find this reassuring as I know that if a hair mask sinks in instantly it is usually either a) going to make my hair greasy or b) is going to require a lot of product to work). The mask has a delicious floral scent that is both delicate and light but also a little seductive. The other products within the range have a similar scent.
After 30 minutes I rinsed the mask off and my hair felt sleeker, silkier, softer and lighter. My Mum (who has very fine, short hair) also used this mask and it had the same effect on her hair desipite our differences. After letting my hair dry I realised how healthy my hair looked. The mask added radiance, shine and a look of rejuvenation to my hair.
A gorgeous smelling product which nourishes hair leaving it looking and feeling healthy, shiny and clean.
My hair is a big frizzy mess and so I am constantly blow drying and straightening it in order to get it into some kind of order. Therefore it ends up getting really dry and in a bad condition so I often buy conditioning to try and bring it back to life. My latest purchase was the Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask which has been created by Umberto Gianni.
What does the product do?
The product is described as being a deep treatment for hair that is dry and damaged like mine. It also claims to indulge the senses, which wasn't on my list of criteria but a nice extra nevertheless.
How does the product work?
The mask contains Shea butter which is one of nature's greatest moisture. It penetrates the strands deeply, hydrating them to their deepest levels. It also nourishes the hair, strengthening the strands and leaving them in a better condition. When the strands are hydrated, they will be less brittle and less likely to snap when brushing and styling.
How do you use the product?
The product needs to be applied liberally to damp hair after cleansing. You are instructed to leave it on the hair for around three minutes and then rinsed away thoroughly. Because it is an intensive treatment, it only needs to be used once a week.
Packaging and price
The product is contained within a white tub which has a screw top lid. The design is fairly plain apart from a colourful fairy on the lid and some extra information about the product. The packaging means that you can easily access every last drop of the product but it also means you need to watch that you don't get shower water in the tub as you are using it.
The product costs around £5 and for that money you will get 200ml of the mask. It can be bought from most large supermarkets, department stores and also from a variety of online websites.
Aroma and Appearance
The product is white and it has a really thick and luxurious consistency that you would be more likely to see on a body butter than a hair conditioner. The aroma is fairly evident but not on the scale of an Herbal Essence product. It smells a bit like clean washing but I'm not sure about their claim that it indulges the senses. But then again, at least it doesn't offend them!
The product is really easy to apply to the hair even though it is so thick. However, as it is so thick, I've found that I need to use quite a lot of the product in one go. I have long hair and I used about 1/5 of the tub in one application. It coats the hair quite thickly so it doesn't drip at all which makes it easier to do other things instead of just standing still for the three minutes.
When the three minutes is up, it is simple to rinse the product out of the hair without much effort. The hair feels really silky immediately and it feels detangled and smooth under the water. Drying the hair is simple because all of the tangles have gone so there'll no pulling.
Once the hair is dry, it does feel really soft and smooth. It feels in a very condition and the dryness and dullness has gone. Because the hair is so hydrated after using this product, the strands don't get brittle and snap as I am straightening it. My hair doesn't have much an extra shine to it which is a shame but nevertheless it does look very healthy. As the product is quite heavy, it does tend to weigh my hair down a little which leads to a lack of volume.
My hair is under control and the ends don't fly away. It doesn't make my hair look greasy and I can still go 48 hours without washing my hair after using the product. It's effect last about half of the week but by the end of the week, my hair is well in need of another dose. The product doesn't really leave any lingering scent on my hair.
All in all, this is a very hydrating product that leaves the hair feeling soft and looking healthy. It doesn't come with much of a scent and it can weigh the hair down a little bit but considering the price, this mask is a good conditioner for hair that is in need of a bit of tlc.
I have been using some Umberto Giannini products for a while. I am always looking out for hair products that will keep my hair healthy. I really do love other Umberto Giannini products like shampoos and conditioners.
So before buying this product I had never really tried any kind of hair hair mask, instead I would have normally just used spray in heat protectors. On to the product...
The small of this hair mask, is like other Umberto products, having a lovely scent. I really love this fact of this product as after using it, it leaves my hair smelling lovely. The scent of the product really does come across as 'Indulgent'.
The product itself is quite think, but it is easy to apply to your hair. The directions on the back of the tub says, 'Apply liberally to damp hair for 3 minutes and rinse."
After applying the product evenly to my wet hair, I leave it on for a good five minutes. Then I rinse it all off.
I have to say that once I begin to start brush my hair to dry it, I find that my hair is untangled and easily to comb through. I then dry and style my hair as usual.
I find that you don't need a lot of this product. I usually do leave this product on a bit longer, just because of the stress I put my hair through. So when ever I have the time I try and leave this mask on for as long as I can!
As for the results of this product, I have found that my hair is in much better condition after using this product. I used it just as instructed, once a week and I made sure that I left the product on for plenty of time, in order to allow the product plenty of time to work on my hair.
This product really does leave my hair feeling much softer and in much better condition. I would defiantly have to agree and state that this product really does indulge your hair. This product, is stated for dry, damaged and processed hair. This is one of the main reasons I chose this product, as I wanted to help nourish and look after my hair.
The tub that I have is 200ml and this has lasted me for quite a good length of time. When I first purchased this product it was 3 for the price of 2 in Boots. And of course I wasn't going to say no to an offer like that on Umberto Giannini products.
On the boots website this product is priced for £5.61 for are currently doing 2 for £7.50 on Umberto Giannini products!
I would most defiantly recommend this product t anyone and it will be one that I will continue to use when choosing hair care products.
Seeing this product in Boots really caught my eye from the attractive packaging, and the offer it was on. £5.61 on it's own or 2 or £7.50. Great price for "professional" hair products.
I have read other reviews on this product, most of them review it as a great product, others say it's just like a normal conditioner. I have to say, this is definitely so much different and better than normal conditioners.
I have naturally really dark brown, almost black hair. I dye it every 4-6 weeks a subtle red which dries out it quite badly. Just to top it off, I recently dip dyed my hair blue - bleached the ends twice and then dyed blue. OH, I forgot, I straighten my hair too. I seriously thought I would have to cut my hair really short from the damage I had done to it - extremely straw like. I normally use the "Clairol Expert Nice n Easy" conditioner that's made for "locking in colour" and keeping it "moisturised" but but hair remained straw like.
So as soon as I returned home from purchasing this product, I immediately tried it out (I get excited after buying new things). It says to leave on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing, or leave on for 10 minutes for those "special occasions". After shampooing, I got rid of the excess water then I left it on for about a good 8 minutes, and as soon as I was rinsing it out, my hair felt incredibly soft, and smelt absolutely gorgeous. That normally happens quite a bit after putting intensive conditioner in my hair, and it changes and goes back dry again when my hair is dry.
When I went to dry my hair, I ran my fingers and brush through my hair ever so easily, and after blow drying it, it felt so smooth!
(I also bought the Umberto Giannini Instant Beauty Silky Soft Leave-in conditioner part of the deal, which I used when my hair was pretty much dry, and before straightening.)
I am so happy with this product, and can certainly say I won't be needing to cut my hair mega short!
Definitely wil be buying it again, whether it's on offer or not!
I recently bought this hair moisture mask from Boots, costing me just over £5. The reason I bought this was because I had just been given a voucher to get £2 off selected hair care brands with another purchase. I was in a rush but when I saw the voucher I had a sudden craving to use it, so went and grabbed the first thing that caught my eye on the shelf - this.
The packaging is gorgeous and I'm not really surprised it caught my eye first. It is white, which makes it sound really plain and boring, but in fact it is designed really well, in my opinion. It is a short round tub, containing 200ml, and on the front it says 'Umberto Giannini' in silver. Under this it says 'Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask' in red and there is some smaller black writing as well. My favourite part of the packaging is whats on the lid. It looks like a watercolour painting of a fairy and I think its really pretty and to me it makes the mask feel more like an expensive luxury item.
The mask itself contains shea butters and has quite a thick, rich, buttery texture to it. It is white in colour and looks a little bit shimmery, or it does in my bathroom with all the lights on anyway. It feels really soft and smooth and is really easy to smooth through the hair. It feels really luxurious and replenishing.
It smells delicious, too, and it is easy to rinse out.
When it has been rinsed out and the hair has been dried, I can see a different in my hair straight away. It definitely looks much more shiny and it looks really well cared for. It smells nice too, and it lasts in this replenished condition for a couple of days until the next wash. It is advised on the bottle to use this mask once a week, and you should use it after squeezing excess moisture from your hair, after shampooing.
Overall I would definitely 100% recommend this mask. I will buy it again when I run out, because I was really pleased with the condition it left my hair in and there isn't anything about it that I don't like.
Thanks for reading xo
I decided i needed a hair treatment after years of straightening my hair has made it really dry and damaged. I have tried a few different treatments lately and none of them have done anything more than a normal conditioner would do.
I have tried umberto giannini shampoos and conditioners before and i love them, so i decided this make of hair treatment should be good! I picked up this indulgent beauty moisture mask from Boots. It cost me £4.99 for a 200ml tub, so it wasnt too expensive. At the moment they are on offer 2 selected umberto giannini products for £7, so that works out at £3.50 a tub if you were to stock up on them during this offer!
This comes in a nice pale pink tub which looks nice in your bathroom. It has a really lovely smell to it and you just use this the same way other hair repair treatments are used. All you need to do is shampoo your hair first like you normally would. Then i squeeze all the excess water out of my hair, as your hair only needs to be damp for this product. You just apply this hair cream to your hair generously, starting at the roots and comb it right through to the roots. Just leave this on for 2-3 minutes and rinse off! It is as easy as that!
This works better the longer you leave it on! I can only be bothered waiting about 5 minutes before i wash it off and i am impressed with the results, but if you leave it on for about 10 minutes, this produces the best results.
My hair felt so soft and silky once i had dried it. It felt stronger, and it was really shiny! It looked so much more healthier after just one use! I have been using this product about a month now, and i can deffinately tell the difference in my hair! My split ends are not as bad, it just looks so much smoother and silkier!
After using this product my hair has deffinately been repaired a bit after years of straightening and colouring! It is not as dry, it looks in such good condition and i will continue using this product! Highly recommended!
My hair is not particularly dry and damaged but it has been coloured/highlighted several times over the last few years and I do tend to style it with heated curlers or straightening irons every once in a while. Therefore it is not in the best condition that it probably could be.
I had been thinking of buying some sort of 'intensive conditioner' for my hair for a while and so when I was in Boots the other day I was browsing through their hair care section and the 'Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask' by Umberto Giannini sounded as though it might do my hair some good. The product is described as a 'deep treatment for dry, damaged hair that indulges the senses'.
I had never before heard of the range by Umberto Giannini but after a quick read of what this conditioner is supposed to do I thought I would give it a try. It was only £4.99 too, which is not a bad price for a pot containing 200 ml of intensive conditioner.
As soon as I got home I logged on to DooYoo to see if anyone had written any reviews on this conditioner and to my delight it had been reviewed (only by a handful mind you) and the general view was that this is a great conditioner! I was thus quite excited to give this a try the next time I washed my hair.
Directions for use are quite simple - you need to leave it in your hair for three minutes after washing. In fact they don't tell you much else i.e whether you should use your normal conditioner or not beforehand etc which I found a bit confusing when I first used it but I decided to use my normal shampoo first, then my normal conditioner and then use the Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask to finish off. The product also states that it is a 'Once a week formulation' and this is about how often I use it. I tend to wash my hair every 2-3 days and once a week suits me quite well. It also says that the longer you leave it in the better the results, but I have only ever left it in for three minutes.
So you obviously want to know what effect this has had on the condition of my hair... Well like I said, my hair is not in particularly bad condition, although it can look a little dry every now and again, especially when it is due a trim. I should point out however that this product is recommended for dry, damaged or processed hair. After using this product I would say that the results are definitely noticeable. My hair feels softer, without the sticky or greasy feeling that intensive conditioners can often leave behind. When I use this product I tend to concentrate on the ends of my hair as I feel that this is the bit that requires the most attention. After the product is washed out and my hair dry, the ends are noticeably softer compared to me using my normal routine of shampoo and regular conditioner.
As well as the benefit of having softer hair, another advantage of this product is that it smells very nice. It is a smell that I can't quite describe, but it smells how a nice body cream might smell, quite fresh but a tiny bit floral and feminine too. The product is said to contain shea butter and so I think the smell of shea butter contributes to the nice smell as well as the softened hair after application. What's nice is that the smell lasts even after your hair is dry and I found that it lasted until the next time I needed to wash it.
The conditioner also looks very nice which I noticed upon opening it for the first time! It has a shimmery effect to it, it is otherwise a simple off-white colour, but the effect of the slight shimmer does make it seem rather luxurious and I guess this is what they mean by it being indulgent for the senses - its visual appeal is rather nice.
Yesterday I straightened my hair for the first time after using this conditioner and I have to say that my hair looked and felt very healthy indeed. Therefore I am quite pleased as my hair can become quite lifeless looking after applying lots of heat for styling purposes.
I would probably buy this again as it was only £4.99 from Boots (which means I can get Advantage points on it) and so far it looks as though the pot will last me quite long - you only need a little on each application and you only need to use it once a week.
Thanks for reading.
Umberto Giannini Indulgent Beauty Moisture Mask!
I have been a big fan of Umberto Giannini products for ages, I have used many of there products, including the beauty shampoo and conditioners and the curling mouse. They all smell really nice and they are really nicely packaged, which makes them great little birthday presents or little treats for yourselves! I love to use the mask once or twice every week and sometimes I like to use a very small amount of the product and use it as an every day conditioner. It just leaves my hair so scrumptiously soft and silky. But it didn't leave my heavy or greasy which some mask and conditioners can do! It is a great treat for your hair once a week or possibly every day!
You just have to apply it to damp hair, and then you could brush it though your hair, you should concentrate on your ends, not your roots as it can make your hair greasy and heavy. When I wash it out of my hair and then brush it while it is still wet, and usually here are some snags when I brush it but the mask just really detangles my hair really quickly and easily!
It is currently £4.99 at boots which is a bit expensive for a mask but you can get more expensive ones and cheaper versions but the cheaper ones but they will not be as good as this one in my opinion. Well worth the money!
Thank your for reading my review, I hope it was helpful! :D
Cost: £5 approx.
Availability: In the chemists and beauty shops e.g. Boots.
Due to constant straightening and hair dying my hair can get really dry, damaged and generally unhealthy looking. I decided to use this product when I came across it in Boots and seen it was much cheaper than the other bed head hair masks I normally buy and also because is from the famous hair dressers Umberto and Giannini so I thought it might work as well as the bed head products.
You apply this mask to your hair after you have washed it and leave it on for three minutes, it is as simple as when you use regular conditioner on your hair. The longer you leave the treatment on your hair within reason, the better it will work on your hair, so if your hair is really damaged like mine was you may want to leave it on for five minutes.
This mask smells great when it is in your hair and leaves your hair smelling great as well even after drying. It left my hair looking much healthier and got rid of that dry and unhealthy look that my hair obviously had after all the abuse I put it through. My hair also felt lovely and soft and healthy and I even got complimented on this by my boyfriend and my family after first using this mask. This product contains shea butters that help intensively replenish dry and damaged hair to give your hair a lovely silky soft feel.
This mask it great value for money, I spent £5 on it in boots and got a 200ml tub.
The 200ml tub is white and has a picture of a green fairy on the top of the tub. The label has silver, red and black writing on it describing how to use this product and what ingredients are contained in it.
I think that this product is great value for money and also that it leaves your hair feeling and smelling great. I struggle to come up with any disadvantages with this product and recommend it to anyone who's hair needs a quick pick me up.
As someone with long hair that's been artificially coloured for many years, I struggle to achieve any kind of shine. My conditioner copes well and leaves my hair feeling soft, but recently I've started using a hairdryer more often, which has resulted in very dry, flyaway hair.
I was moaning about this to my sister one day, when she suggested I use a hair mask. She swears by their effectiveness and I must admit, her hair is in pretty good condition. Then again, she does spend a lot of money at the hairdressers and I refuse to visit a hairdresser. Once they see you have long hair, all they want to do is chop the lot off!
Well, I think I do OK taking care of my own hair, but I thought I'd start by treating myself to one of these miracle hair masks just to see what they're all about. Hair masks are quite intensive and shouldn't be used more than once a week or you can end up with more problems such as oily hair. Whereas conditioners coat the hair and smooth it, hair masks go some way towards repairing damaged hair.
I was browsing around the Salon brand conditioners in Boots, when I came across this mask from Umberto Giannini. Now, I know nothing about Salon brands and who's good and who's not. To be honest, this was the first hair 'mask' I spotted and since there was a discount for Umberto Giannini, I decided to give it a shot. And wouldn't you know, my sister has gone and given me another hair mask product for my birthday. That's another review in the not too distant future as it's a different brand.
This particular hair mask is for dry, damaged or processed hair, or all three combined! Anyway, the price was a lot better than I was expecting from a salon brand. It cost £5.99 and you do get a large pot of the stuff with 200ml. It recommends you only use it once a week so it should last a while.
The tub has a screw top lid and when you open it up you'll find it brimming to the top with a lovely thick, white cream. And the smell is absolutely divine. I can't stop sniffing it. It's hard to describe. It's sort of a flowery and herby smell combined.
It instructs you to liberally apply to damp hair and leave for 3 minutes then rinse. It also mentions that the longer you leave it on, the better.
So, after washing my hair in the shower I forgo my usual conditioner and scooped up a handful of this hair mask. I worked it well into my hair and the ends then clipped my hair on top of my head and carried on with my shower. All in all, I left it on for over 10 minutes.
When rinsing it out my hair felt very soft and almost heavier than usual. I felt I had to rinse a bit longer than normal to make sure all of the product was out of my hair. The proof of its benefits would come once my hair had dried. It was a bit of a task combing through my hair, but I've since found out that you should still use your usual conditioner afterwards. This is not mentioned on the hair mask pot though.
Once my hair had been blow dried, it didn't look any different than it usually does with regards to amount of shine. However, it definitely felt thicker, smoother and heavier than it usually does and that wonderful smell was still lingering.
I've noticed my hair is less flyaway, so I can hopefully put this down to the restorative properties of the mask. I would recommend this as a treat for anyone with dry and damaged hair.
