A lovely scented hair finish that freshen and adds shine

Umberto Giannini Spa Rituals Indulgent Shine Spray

I have had my plastic spray bottle for quite some time as I bought it with a couple of other products from their range when Boots had a three for two offer. I first came across this brand when my daughter used to buy their curl enhancing stuff and their rather expensive shampoos and conditioners.

Umberto Giannini was a real person rather than a company and he started work at fifteen in his uncle's hairdressing salon. He became very successful as a stylist winning the British Hairdresser of the Year award in 1999 and he was the youngest winner ever. He built up a mini empire of hair dressing salons in the UK and also launched the equally successful range of hair products which are still sold today in Boots and some other retailers as well as the salons he started.

I knew nothing about the man or his company until writing this review and was quite saddened to read that he died in 2001 at the very young age of thirty three of a rare muscle wasting disease. Anyway he won't be forgotten as his products are excellent but it is always sad when a young person with so much promise for a great future dies so young.

The plastic spray bottle holds 100ml and is a subtle creamy colour with gold writing. It is a spray but not an aerosol just a pump. There is a plastic cover over the pump so that you can pack t with no worry bout the product accidently leaking if the pump becomes pressed down.

The cost of this from Boots is £5.61 but at the moment I notice that they are doing the three products for the price of two again so I think I'll take advantage as I only have half an inch left at the bottom of my bottle.
This is one of their Indulgent spa range and the whole range is packaged in the rather understated luxurious cream and gold colour scheme.

This doesn't claim to be a conditioner but more of a shine enhancer. It contains lavender and geranium which combine to create a lovely fresh slightly herby scent. It is designed for any hair type to be sprayed on after styling to add a fresh scent and a lovely sheen to your hair.

You can also use it to spray on your hair before straightening it and then give it a second spritz as you finish which makes your hair silky soft, smell divine and adds a touch of shine too.

I have thick, course curly hair and am always envious of those with silky locks that shine like a shampoo advert and so when I found this some years ago I was thrilled as it does give my very un-shiny hair a nice shine and as a bonus it smells wonderful, as though I have just washed it with a really strong scented shampoo.

      HOW TO USE
As I mentioned this is a pump spray and all you have to do is give the bottle a bit of a shake then holding the bottle about six inches away from your hair give it a few sprays then allow it to dry and you will honestly be quite amazed at the shine.

As I have short hair I don't get the scent as I flick my hair but others have commented how nice my hair smells when I wear this.

Be very careful NOT to spray this so that it gets into your eyes as it stings. They also say that should you accidently get any in your eye that you should rinse your eyes well with water straight away.

The product is also flammable so don't spray near naked flames or store where there could be a danger of it catching fire.

The bottle has the recycling symbol on it so it can be recycled with other plastics. The fact that it is not an aerosol means that there are no nasty CFCs to harm the environment either.

The product contains natural extracts so sometimes the colour varies between one bottle and the next.

This is about the third bottle of this lovely indulgent product that I have bought and I find that as I don't use this daily I don't have to buy it too often. If you were to use it on a daily basis then I would say it might give you a month's use but as I use it only when I am heading into the outside world and wanting to look a bit better than usual I find mine lasts about a year. The product has natural ingredients but I haven't found that the quality has declined in the time that I have had this bottle so it obviously has some sort of preservatives in there.

I love the smell, it isn't sweet at all, more fresh herby and quite sensual. It gives my dull hair a nice gentle sheen without making it at all greasy. I can still leave my hair two or three days without washing it even when I use this. In fat if my hair is looking a bit in need of a wash I sometimes straighten it with this then spray a bit more over my finished hair and it freshens it up to last that extra night.

All in all this is a product I never would have thought I needed but having been introduced to it by my daughter a few years ago it is now one of my hair essentials. It isn't too expensive and makes the difference between hair looking good and looking really great.

I would certainly recommend that you give it a try, especially as Boots have their offer on as I write this so that it is good time to buy it.
