Advantages: It worked!
Disadvantages: erm.. none that I've found yet
This Overnight Moisture Balm was given to me as a Christmas present.
It's not something I would have thought of buying for myself (I'm a Pantene girl!) but, as I had it, I thought I might as well give it a go last night. It did seem a novel idea - a night cream for hair - but I didn't expect too much from it.
I have to say that the instructions on the tube aren't that great. In fact, all it says is "apply evenly to dry hair - no rinse formula", but as it also says, "once applied all you see is the result" I presumed only a little was needed.
My hair is dry, with that "cotton-wool" texture brought on by over-colouring and too many heat appliances. Applying just a little didn't seem to make any difference, so I decided to really go for it and give my head a proper coating, using maybe a quarter of the tube (that's about 35 ml). At that level it did take ten minutes or so to dry into the hair, and it did leave my hair feeling coarse. I went to bed knowing I would need a shampoo in the morning. Nice smell though - very fresh and clean.
By morning my hair felt quite rigid and full of product, so I jumped straight in the shower. I had a very pleasant surprise as the moisture balm rinsed off. My hair felt really silky, soft and moisturised. After my usual shampoo and condition, the silkiness remained, and I found it easier than usual to dry and style. My hair has had a good glossy shine today and it doesn't feel as dry and coarse as usual. The ends feel moisturised.
I shall definitely use this again. The tube describes it as "The ultimate good hair day guarantee" which I suppose could be stretching things a bit, but nevertheless I would recommend it.
Summary: Good overnight hair conditioner

- 09/01/09 Hi Carcraig, thanks for reading. It is currently £4.88 in Boots. I've just bought new bedding, so I didn't risk staining and wrapped my head in a towel! The towel is stain-free but it does hold the product smell - not a bad thing! |
