Umberto Giannini have created a real gem with this finishing cream. Not only does it smell divine, the product does exactly what it should do, to a high standard. It costs around the £5 - though this is online - and you could probably get it for around £4 if you trawl through the many beauty websites offering discounts. PACKAGING The finishing cream comes complete in a white box emblazoned with a beautiful artistic image of a woman with lucious locks. The design is bold and striking and stands out alongside the countless simple and sophisticated ranges of haircare products. There is a water-colour feel to the artwork which is really rather beautiful. The image is spread across the entire collection of Umberto Giannini BEAUTY SECRETS. The cream itself features the same image and has silver and pink text highlights. It is a gorgeous little package that is both sleek yet youthful. THE CREAM As I have long thick hair I was expecting to need lots of the cream for any real impact - but I was pleasantly surprised. A little certainly goes a long way. The scent is fresh, delicate, floral but also a little sexy - more the scent of a body product than hair - which I find quite interesting and very delicious. Some may find this unusual scent (for haircare) a little odd, though. The cream easily blends into hair without clumping. For those with very fine hair I'd advise applying a very small amount to your hands before gently applying. The cream adds shimmer and shine - but not gloss. It makes hair look lush and healthy, and finishes off all hair styles to a high standard. It is not the best for keeping hair in place (like hair spray), but is great for adding a little polish to your look. OVERALL A gorgeous looking and smelling hair cream that adds shine and scent whilst polishing off all kinds of styles.
~The look of the product~ The bottle I feel is not very eye-catching but it does ooze the glamour and high-fashion that is portrayed by Umberto Giannini. It is a fairly small and compact bottle which would easily fit inside a make up bag to ensure perfect hair at any time. It is a simple white colour with the silver recognisable Umberto Giannini logo and title on with the title "Perfect Beauty Finishing Cream" in red writing ensuring that you do not get this product mixed up with their similar bottles of products. The claim on the bottle is, "Flaunt the impeccable look, texture and shine of salon finished hair." The bottle has a clear lid, which when removed reveals the pump action dispenser (which can need around 3/4 pumps before the product comes out) ( On the back of the bottle is the boring warnings like to avoid the product getting into contact with eyes. I do like the information on the back of the bottle which is; Hair: all hair types Look: salon expensive Technique: apply sparingly where needed to finished style Professional secret: less is more! ~The price~ and ~Value for money~ The product can be bought at various locations the price seems to be in the region of £5.40 - £5.70. I bought mine from Boots at a cost of £5.61, this is for a 100 ml bottle. Upon using this product I would say for medium-long hair a usage of it would roughly be around 2ml so each usage is around 11p which I feel is very good value for money as the product does work (I shall talk about my experience with the product further on) ~The smell~and~the look/feel of product~ I love the smell of this product, I am useless at describing smells, however I feel as though it smells like an earthy perfume (a perfume which I would wear) however some may find it fairly strong. The feel of the product is creamy but can leave your hands feeling a little greasy afterwards (however this does not make the hair look at all greasy or weighed down with product) It is a creamy white colour which is very opaque at the same time. ~Personal experience~ I use this product around 2/3 times a week, I carry it around in my make up bag for the days when I feel as though the stray hairs are going to play up, I simply pump the dispenser and squirt around 2/3 lots of the product out. I then rub the product in my hands to ensure that I can cover all my hair evenly, the creators of the product are correct, less is more and a little does go a long way. If you are unsure I would say apply a little then if you are un-happy with it, apply a little more (you can keep applying till you are happy but you cannot take away without a full re-wash) It tidies up the stray little hairs that even professionals get and makes you feel much more glamorous. A little is needed so I am glad that once opened the product lasts for around 24 months. ~Final notes~ I would rate this product 5/5 however some people may not like the smell, it does live up to its claims and my hair is much more moisturised than it used to be. Please feel free to comment on anything you wish to know about the product but which I have not put in this review, I have tried to write about everything I would wish to know but a few things may have escaped my mind.
About the Product: Umberto Giannini Beauty Secrets 'Perfect Beauty Finishing Cream' is a finishing product for styled hair. It claims to give shine and texture to hair, and to prevent frizz all to a professional level. Unfortunately I cannot see much information on the bottle to how to apply apart from to apply sparingly. It seems like a moisturizing cream for hair to use after styling. Why I bought it: I was going away on holiday in two days and I needed some cosmetics from my local Boots store. After purchasing my essentials I had spent a fair amount of money and received a £2 money off voucher for certain branded items and Umberto Giannini hair products was one of them. I realized I had practically finished my Toni and Guy Rubber Shine which I normally use as a final styling product to reduce frizz and give shine. Therefore I decided to try something new and I was drawn in by the attractive box of this Umberto Gianni product. Price and Availability: I am sure it is available in many stores. In Boots the 100ml bottle costs £4.88 however there are frequent good promotions on and at the moment you can buy two of these for £7. My opinion of product: It comes in a very attractive box and is in a very well presented bottle. The finishing cream can easily and evenly be pumped out and the bottle is small enough to fit in a handbag. For me presentation is important if carrying in my handbag. It was an ideal size for me as 100ml is the maximum sized liquid you can carry in hand luggage while travelling by air. When I purchased the product my hair was quite long and my ends were getting dry. I only used it for my ends and a small amount on my hair to smooth out any frizz. I did not apply any near my roots as I have experience that these kinds of products can give a greasy appearance at times. During my holiday I had a hair cut and since my ends were not dry anymore I needed very little of this product so I still have loads left. It states on the bottle 'less is more' and I agree very little is needed unless you have very dry hair. I do like this product as it leaves my hair looking natural but then without any frizz and a lovely texture. My hair feels extremely soft and occasionally without realising I am getting a habit of brushing my fingers through my hair as it feels so soft and lovely. For me personally this product does exactly as it states and it lasts until I wash my hair. In spite of this, my hair is not very dry or frizzy so perhaps it may not have the same effect on other people's hair. Information: Umberto Giannini is an award winning British Hairdressers and this product is made in the UK. www.umbertogiannini.com
i just bought this finishing cream from umberto giannini last week......im not impressed! i am so tight with money at the moment i cant afford to waste it so i thought i would give this stuff a try as it looke dpromising and the packaging was nice,i have now learned not to fall for false advertising.this cream really is awfull,it didnt do anything to my hair except make it feel th esame as when u dont wash your shampoo and conditioner out properly.it has really annoyed me and i woudlnt recomend this product to anyone no matter what your hair type is. its so hard finding a desent hair product, this one defenetly is yet another one that has let me down.
I just purchased the Umberto Finishing cream and havent a clue whether to use it before blow drying like serums, or work through hair up with it once styled ?the insructions for use on the box just dont specify..is it for finished styled hair ? like a mousse - to say its almost £5.00 it could be more specific.. quite dissappointed - my first Umberto purchase and t will now put me off anymore purchases
I have always had trouble taming my hair it never looks "nice", I don't think anyway! I am forever looking for products to banish frizz and make it look shiny especially for nights out and special occasions. I am going to review the Umberto Giannini Perfect Beauty Finishing Cream and rate it according to my experience of it.....enjoy! Packaging I purchased a 100ml bottle with pump action which is effective as it only releases a small amount at a time (all that's needed really). Only problem is the bottle is white and you cannot see when you are due to run out of the product (this is a bit of a pet hate of mine!) Not a major issue though! The product and the promises The actual cream is white with a gel like consistency. It is easy to apply just a few pumps of the container onto hands, rub hands together to create a shiny film and then smooth over problem areas of hair. I tend to concentrate on the roots. I have also found that the effects don't last awfully long and sometimes (depending on how big a bag I am taking out with me) I will put the bottle in my bag and apply later on. The bottle states that it: a) Adds Texture - Not really seen much of this... b) Smoothes Frizz - It is good for this however as stated earlier the effects don't last for a long time. c) Divine Shine - Does remove dullness from hair The bottle also states a very important fact - LESS IS MORE! I have found this to be most definitely be true too much leaves hair looking greasy and overworked!! To Conclude Don't think I would recommend this product. It does banish all those sticky out bits of hair but doesn't really keep all the promises it makes on the back. I would prefer to use a good hairspray to finish off a look rather than this.
Hi there I purchased Umberto Giannini finishing Cream and none of the assistants in Glasgow Branch of Boots in within the Centre in Argyle Street. After asking 3 assistants for same infor on how to apply this product, none of them could give me info on how to apply as there is almost no info on the box or bottle.but I bought it nevertheless with all the hype over the product. Has it to be rinsed off? After trying it sparingly on my hair after washing and drying my hair I applied it very sparingly then I found my hair to be stiff and sticky. Very disappointed I must say and have used much better finishing cream than this hyped up one. Perhaps better instructions could also help loyal customers! All I wanted was to make my hair shine, and will certainly be looking for reviews on this product. Betty
The Story I had tried and ultimately failed to tame my thick unruly locks with numerous lotions and potions over the years. Time after time I had spent my hard earned cash on products that have promised to banish frizz, heal those split ends, add body, smooth into submission, give shine, deep condition and protect my hair -yet to no avail. No longer would I waste my time and money on these products which delivered over oily, over processed hair. For me shampoo and conditioner would suffice and for a while shampoo and conditioner was just great. It was only when my friend gave me Umberto Giannini's "Perfect Beauty Finishing Cream" as a present that I relented in my hair styling product ban. I had dabbled with the Umberto range when I still had faith in hair styling products and their ineffectiveness was partly the reason why I lost faith in the first place. Being the open minded person that I am, I ignored this point. Besides the "finishing cream" was part of a brand new Umberto sub range titled "beauty secrets" I couldn't taint this new range with past inadequacies courtesy of Umberto. The Packaging and Promises The whole range is packaged in crisp white with silver accents - it is simple yet stylish. The design team has wanted to focus on utility and I like the industrial white with bold silver writing. The bottle of "finishing cream" came in a white box which has a watercolour print of a woman on it. Personally I don't care for the illustration and I'm glad that the bottle itself just features writing. The bottle uses pump action to distribute the product and is a bit on the bulky side to fit into a small clutch but manages fine in my handbag - at the ready for touch ups. This may sound bizarre but I simply love reading the blurb on the back of products - the longer the words and the more outrageous the florid prose style the better! There is something reassuring about reading about how lovely you will look when the contents of the product bottle have been applied. Also I like to actually know what the product will do for me - particularly this product as "finishing cream" is rather ambiguous. It claims to "add texture, smoothes frizz and slicks ends with a divine shine". Wow, quite a mandate! The Process After washing, drying and then curling my hair I pressed down on the pump which distributes just the right amount of product to begin working my hair with (I normally use 3-5 pumps all in all). It's a white cream, gel like substance and before applying it to my hair I rub my hands together creating a light film of product over each hand. I then begin to lightly caress my hair with my hands - less is really more with this product, trust me. I start at the top but mainly focus on the ends be really careful as to not over load the hair with product you have to be really gentle and light handed with this product. Go over any trouble areas. The Results Let's go back to those claims and see how many the product has fulfilled. "Adds texture" - 4/5 - When my hair is curled the product separates each curl and defines it. It smoothes yet simultaneously creates a subtle natural volume. I have used it when my hair is straight and it delivers a fantastic finish on my hair making lovely and soft yet still with body. "Smoothes frizz" - 3/5 - It is less successful on the frizz taming front never eliminating it but managing it adequately. "Slicks ends with a divine shine" - 5/5 - Oh it certainly does! It transforms lacklustre straggly hair into a glorious healthy shiny mane in no time at all! It coats my hair with a brilliant gloss. In addition, I simply love the smell its rather impossible to describe as its very slight. I compare it to how your hair smells when you leave the hairdressers just wonderfully clean and conditioned. As soon as I apply this product to my hair it feels like a shot of moisture has been injected into my hair. It just makes my hair flow, looks really natural, feels so soft and leaves no hardness of lumpy residue. Before I hated the stiffness which ensued after a product was applied but this has such a light-weight formula that it allows my hair to truly breathe and flow free. It's a wonder cream and I could not imagine finishing my hair without it. The Price You can purchase this product from any good sized boots at £4.99 for 100ml. It lasts absolutely ages - I have had mine for around five months and I've got a good half a bottle left and that's with me using it regularly. The Verdict This is the only hair styling product you really need as it does the job of at least four products! It's the only hair product I own and I shall certainly be purchasing it when I run out of my own supply.
