“ Brand: Umberto Giannini / Type: Hair Cream / What it does: Repairs, „
I bought this product on impulse, I had a £5 voucher in boots and was determined to use it and as I had enough of my usual products, I decided to try something new. I thought an overnight cream would be an interesting new thing to try. I straighten my hair a lot and the front of my hair in particular, specifically around my fringe, is prone to breakage and I also suffer from horribly annoying split ends! I figured an overnight hair repair cream couldn't do me any harm so why not try it!
The first thing about this product which caught my eye was the packaging. It's in a round 150ml container and is cream in colour with gold writing. I particularly like the cream and gold colour scheme as it really does give the product a luxurious feel. The tube has a pump action dispenser and is a pale gold colour with a clear plastic cap on top.
This part of the Umberto Giannini range is called 'Spa Rituals' and is written in a fancy swirly gold font, again oozing luxury. The official name of the product is 'Overnight Magic Hair Repair' and the description on the front of the bottle claims that "This no rinse special remedy with bergamot, lavender and honey, conditions, nourishes and beautifully smooths your hair whilst you sleep" which sounded like exactly what I needed.
Like I said, I purchased this from boots and it cost £4.99 however the Umberto Giannini range has regular offers on such as 3 for 2 or 2 for £7 which in my opinion makes these products affordable and as with all boots purchases, you get boots advantage points which is an added bonus.
The first thing I noticed about this product was the gorgeous smell which is noticeable the second you remove the clear plastic lid. As I said, the bottle says it is made using bergamot, lavender and honey, but I don't even know how to describe this blend of scents other than by saying it is utterly divine!! If you are not a fan of strongly perfumed products then this product is not for you but I personally find it a really relaxing, calming although quite heavy smell particularly as I apply it just before I sleep.
The product itself is white in colour and is has a thick creamy consistency which again for me gives it a sense of luxury. The packaging and the smell all contribute to a feeling of extravagance for me as I only usually use necessary products and never anything fancy! Although 150ml isn't a massive amount of product considering the price, you only really need to use one or two pea sized blobs of product so ultimately, the product is really good value for money!
Applying the product is really easy, using the pump it is easy to dispense however much of the product you desire which according to the back of the bottle is a pea sized amount. "Apply a pea size amount onto palms, rub together and smooth through the hair from roots to tips gently and evenly. No need to rinse in the morning." Personally, I find it easier to apply the product to my hair if I rub it between my fingers rather than my palms. I also prefer to concentrate the cream on the front of my hair and my fringe, and then to the ends of my hair but obviously this is a personal preference and if I didn't have so much hair, I may put it all the way through my hair.
Although I haven't noticed any huge differences in the condition of my hair, I am convinced that I have fewer noticeable breakages around my fringe area. I would recommend this product predominantly as a pampering product. It looks, smells and feels expensive and luxurious and considering how long the product lasts I believe it to be excellent value for money. I recommend this product because I do think it works, but also because I believe everyone deserves some affordable luxuries!!
We get a lot of Boots vouchers as we buy loads of stuff from there and the store regularly do vouchers off hair care products which included the designer Umberto Gianni range...
This Spa Rituals 'Overnight Magic Hair Repair' conditioner is described as a remedy with bergamot, lavender and honey in a no rinse conditioner that is supposed to feed your hair and rehydrate it.
There is 150ml in this cream plastic container which has a pump action lid and can be used for 2 years after it has been opened...
The write up says it: 'conditions, nourishes and beautifully smooths your hair while you sleep' which sounded really cool for my hair that is getting more damaged with me straightening and styling it every day :)
Suitable for all hair type you just put it on - just about a pea sized amount and spread it through your hair and then just leave on to work its so-called magic...
Umberto Gianni are award winning British hairdressers so you would think this stuff was awesome wouldn't you? But it's not :(
It promises to give a new level of softness and control but all it did was dry my hair out more and the smell is overpowering.
It stinks! It does! Horrible and strong of fragrance that you can't get to sleep it's that strong|!
There are loads of ingredients but it's the flower smell that stinks the place out, I couldn't stand it after trying it for three nights in a row and our whole place smelt of it!
Only one star you should use it as an air freshener instead, yuk, as it just doesn't work as a remedy for over conditioned hair!
