Nourish Me Truly conditioner is the matching product to the shampoo I reviewed earlier, made by VO5 it promises to nourish and moisturise my hair without weighing it down. And the claims are true.
The conditioner smells nice and creamy, it has a creamy consistency too which helps me to massage it through my hair. I don't apply it too close to my hair line as I don't want greasy roots after rinsing, I then leave it in my hair for a couple of minutes as a kind of hair mask to ensure the conditioner has time to penetrate my hair.
Immediately after rinsing my hair feels silky smooth, always a good sign with a conditioner as it reassures me it's doing the most important job for me - detangling. My hair tangles at the slightest hint of moisture but using Nourish Me Truly stops that happening, and as a result saves me pulling out loads of hairs as I brush.
Overall I'd say my hair is soft and manageable after using this conditioner - nothing more, nothing less.
I don't find it particularly nourishing and think that effect comes more from the shampoo than the conditioner, this is what I'd consider to be a fairly basic conditioner that works nicely but it's definitely best used with its matching shampoo for the best effects.
I'll carry on using and buying it as I don't really need more than this gives me, but if you're expecting anything like an intensive conditioner (and you might, based on the name) then I think you'll be disappointed with this one.
I'm not really bothered about what brand of shampoo or conditioner I use, as long as it does the job and cleans my hair without leaving it dry I don't mind what name is on the bottle. I've recently been using this VO5 nourish me truly conditioner alongside the shampoo.
The conditioner is available to buy in two different sizes, 250ml and 500ml. These can cost anywhere in the region of £2 to £4. You can pick the conditioner up from supermarkets or places like Boots and Superdrug either in store or online.
The packaging is pretty much the same as the packaging for the nourish me truly shampoo apart from the colour. This wine shaped bottle is simply white in colour, it looks good next to the hot pink shampoo and when you are mid shower you don't have to faff about trying to read the bottle to distinguish which one is the shampoo and which one is the conditioner. The lid of the conditioner is where you get the product out of the bottle, it's a simple push button and this makes the other side of the lid flip up to reveal the hole. The long neck is a bit of a design flaw on the bottle as when you are reaching the end it does prove difficult to get the remaining conditioner out.
The colour, smell and consistency of this conditioner are very similar to that of the identical shampoo. It is white in colour and has a slightly thicker feeling to it but it isn't too thick and is able to be dispensed through the nozzle hole without any problems. The scent of the conditioner is definitely floral with a slight fruity tone to it, definitely a girly smell. I run the product mainly through the ends of my hair and then any left over on my hands gets put over the rest of my head. After leaving it for a few minutes I find it is very easy to wash out without having to spend half an hour rinsing through to get every last bit free from my hair.
I use this conditioner when I'm using the nourish me truly shampoo and I do find my hair feeling rejuvenated, it's soft and feels good and has a nice shine to it. VO5 claim that it helps nourish heat damaged hair, I use heat on my hair daily so it definitely gets damaged but this conditioner does spruce my hair up and does leave it feeling healthy.
I'd definitely recommend this VO5 nourish me truly conditioner. It has a nice scent and is easy to apply and wash off. When it's teamed with the matching shampoo it really does leave my hair feeling great. The only thing I would change about it is the packaging so that it would be easier to get the last of conditioner out.
I bought this conditioner recently from my local Boots as they had a 3rd off all VO5 hair products. I am a big fan of their oil treatments for hair so I thought I would give their shampoos and conditioners a go too. I decided to go for the 'nourish me truly' range as I have quite dry and damaged hair from constant styling and dying and not getting it cut enough...and I have to say this is the BEST conditioner I have used in a long time!
The conditioner itself comes in an unusual shaped bottle that has a long thin neck, the bottle itself is a pearly white colour in contrast to the shampoo which is bright pink, and it has the VO5 logo on the front.
The conditioner itself is very thick and white and kind of pearlised in appearance and definitely looks very luxurious. I only need a very small amount to be able to work it through my hair and get a good coverage, I usually find with conditioners that I have to use a lot to be able to detangle and calm my hair, but with this one I barely need to use any. It is a really thick conditioner and looks and feels a bit like melted marshmallow in my hands (only not as sticky). When massaging it into my hair if feels very rich and silky, and takes a bit of washing out to get all the residue out properly.
After drying my hair I noticed that my hair felt noticably thicker, softer, smoother and looked a lot healthier and shinier. I also noticed that it smelled very nice aswell, a very fruity (though not as fruity as herbal essense) scent. It was easy to style and the ends of my hair looks a lot better and less dry.
I have only ever used this with the shampoo aswell but overall I am very impressed with this conditioner, I would even go as far to say it is the best conditioner I have used in a while in terms of restoring dry or damaged hair! I cannot recommend this conditioner enough!
I have got long and very thick hair and although I make sure that I take good care of it, I find that it can feel quite dry and dull at times as I do straighten it a lot. This is why I usually buy conditioners and shampoos which claim to moisturise and nourish hair. The conditioner that I've been using on and off for the past year or so is this one - 'nourish me smoothly' by V05. I love this as it makes my hair feel amazing - clean, soft, smooth and bouncy and like all of the other shampoo and conditioners in the V05 range it's really cheap and great value for money.
I usually buy this from Poundland as they sell the 250ml bottles but places like Tesco, B&M, Superdrug and various other retailers sell it too. The average retail price for a 250ml bottle is around £2.00 but it is often on offer. A larger 500ml bottle is also available and this retails at around £3.80. I think that this conditioner is amazing value and I always stock up whenever the 500ml bottles are reduced - I managed to get three bottles for £1.35ish the other week in Tesco which I think is an impressive price but even at full price it is a bargain.
Despite being so cheap, the quality is definitely there; it's not cheap and nasty and it does what it promises. V05 say that this is ideal for damaged or heat styled hair and state that this will transform it. It has been developed with adaptive haircare technology and V05 claim that it will leave your hair feeling luxuriously soft as well as stronger and visibly radiant. The ingredients all sound very chemical but it is enriched with an essential 5 oil blend which consists of avocado oil, argan oil, apricot oil, grape seed oil and jojoba oil. It is also infused with extract of cashmere keratin which is apparently what helps add strength to the hair.
I think the amount of natural oils in this is very impressive for the price. The conditioner comes in quite a basic but attractive plastic bottle which is white with all of the information (brand and product name, product description, ingredients etc) on it. The conditioner is white in colour with a glossy sheen and the texture is nice and thick. It spreads over my hair easily and doesn't feel greasy or sticky. I only need a small, 50 pence sized blob of this for all of my hair, which considering how long my hair is is quite impressive - a little goes a long way so a bottle lasts for ages. The conditioner has a perfume/floral type scent which is subtle and it leaves my hair smelling nice and fresh.
I use this after using my shampoo and leave it on for a couple of minutes so that my hair can soak it up. As soon as I've washed it out my hair feels silky, smooth and lighter and I've noticed that when I've used this my thick, long hair is easier to brush and manage. Overall, I highly recommend this conditioner as it leaves my hair feeling amazing - soft, silky and clean and it is great value for money.
My daughter dip dyed her hair with bleach and the ends dried out and split so she was on the look out for a good conditioner. She's in Uni at the moment and left this at home........ fair game but I will replace it.
This is expensive in my opinion I think she paid £2 for 250ml as opposed to my £1 ones for twice the amount.
The bottle looks like a little milk bottle, it's white plastic with a pink sheen to it that you can't see through. It's got one of those pop up lids which is the easiest to use in my opinion. The label tells us that it's 'V05 nourish me truly' with Adaptive Haircare Technology' whatever that is. The conditioner wants to 'Lavish my damaged hair for a divine transformation'. Quite a claim, other claims include that it will strengthen and repair for visible radiance. The conditioner itself is white with a nice creamy consistency.
After shampooing I apply a good blob. I don't need too much to cover my hair as it's not too thick making it easy to apply. It has a strong smell, not unpleasant it's flowery/ peachy perfume almost. The scent stays until the next wash- about two days (sometimes one day as it can make my hair feel like I need to wash it). I leave it on for a few minutes then rinse off. It rinses off easy enough but leaves a slight residue. Although my hair feels silky whilst rinsing it also feels 'thin'.
The conditioner leaves my shoulder length hair totally tangle free I don't even have to comb it just dry it with a hairdryer. Once dry my hair feels lank, thin and fly away but less dry at the ends and definitely softer and smoother than usual. It doesn't feel very nourished though just like it's got a coating. I suppose my hair does look shiny for the day but then just looks greasy. It doesn't irritate my scalp as such but if I use too much my hair gets too soft and this annoys me (if that makes sense!).
My hair isn't transformed like it claims. I think it would be better just applied to the ends. It actually says on the bottle to apply on the mid and ends of you hair so maybe that's were I've gone wrong.
My daughters dry ends are much improved her hair feels smoother and her ends look less bushy. This only lasts until the next wash though so the conditioner doesn't actually repair the hair just smoothes it while the product is on.
I would recommend for dry ends but stay away from the roots.
I want to give 3 stars but will give 4 because my daughters dry ends look much better after using this.
