I've always used Batiste dry shampoos in the past but decided to give this go a go as it was on special offer in Home Bargains at only 99p for a can! It works the same as any other dry shampoo and the trick is to remember to shake the can vigorously before spraying it onto the head / hair. I first noticed that this shampoo has a really lovely fragrance.
So after having used Batiste dry shampoo for many years, I thought I would give this ago. I don't like change when I know that I have a great product but when this was on offer I thought why not? I have used many V05 products in the past and if anything, at the price tag it normally retails at, I thought this must be better than the normal Batiste range dry shampoo!
On first glance it comes up trumps! I'm a girly girl so the small pink can ticket the box for me straight away on packaging. The next thing I go to is the smell as some of the Batiste range that I have reviewed also, smell really fruity and others not so good. Well this dry shampoo ticks the box in that department also. It smells like hair spray which is great for me as there is something to that smell that I really do like!
Unfortunately for me this is where the good points stop. It claims to 'boost body& grip whilst refreshing your style'. It didn't do this for me. Instead of absorbing the grease and giving my hair a slight boost after having gone a day not washing it, it did not do that for me. Instead I felt like it just added to the mess and made my hair a whole lot worse! I had to go straight away and wash me hair which really frustrated me!
For something so pricey, this didn't impress me at all and I will definitely be returning to my good old trustee Batiste!
*Vo5 Plump Me Up Dry Shampoo*
I have often read about dry shampoo, but never used it until recently. I saw this bright pink can in my local pharmacy as a buy one get once free when purchasing hair spray, so thought I would give it a go.
We all have days when either we oversleep, are too busy or have to dash out quickly without washing our hair. My hair gets greasy very quickly after washing, and the idea of dry shampoo is that you can skip a wash, without having flat, dull hair.
The can contains 200ml of plump me up, which it claims to 'boost body and grip whilst refreshing your style' and 'banish greasy roots & add texture, definition and grip'. It is made by Vo5 who are owned by Unilever smells similar to hairspray.
The dry shampoo is used like an aerosol spray, and is very simple to use. I have quite long hair, and mainly spray it on the roots, making sure to hold the can 30cm away, and keep moving it. Otherwise you will get white patches which you really do not want! The spray itself is white when bits have dried around the edge of the cap.
One can does not last very long, I don't think I have used it a dozen times and it feels almost empty. Like any aerosol you can feel how much is left when shaking the can.
I find that although my hair does look better than it did before when I have used this, it is no substitute to washing my hair. It doesn't leave my hair looking as good as I expect, but I use it when in a hurry as it is better than nothing.
I purchased mine as part of a buy one get one free offer, and it is usually around £3.50, which is a bit expensive. I may buy it again, but would look out for a similar offer next time, as £3.50 is a bit steep for me. If I spot another brand, I will try that to compare.
3/5 stars as it is expensive and doesn't last long.
