This product is quite cheap compared to similar products by bumble and bumble etc. and although it does produce wavy hair, I don't think it's quite up to scratch.
Easy way to achieve waves- simply spray on scrunch and let dry. It did do as it promised. I have tried a few other cheaper sea salt sprays that didn't do much to my hair at all.
Doesn't smell too bad- it has a salty smell.
Nice bottle that is easy to spray and the cap is great to prevent any leakage.
I found that I had to use a lot of this spray to make it have any effect. I found I only got 3 or 4 days worth out of it. This might be just because I have long, thick hair but I didn't really think it was great value.
I found it left my hair feeling dry and damaged but it made it look crusty and just wasn't that nice.
It is cheaper and easier to make your own sea salt spray by buying a cheap spray bottle and mixing some water, salt and conditioner. I've been doing that since then and have found it's much better.
Product is ok for the price but it is easier to make your own!
Having shortish hair I do like to play about with it and get creative from time to time. I'm always on the look out for decent branded hair care products at reasonable prices and I recently spotted this one in my local Poundland store of course costing a pound !
The packaging of this product is very unisex indeed and comes in a dark blue see-through plastic bottle with a dark blue matching spray action lever to the top of it and with a blue piece of plastic that can be popped on and off it to keep it secure. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is Alberto V05, Extreme Style, Surfstyle Texturising Sea Salt Spray' 'Matt effect, beach blown volume & waves'. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are used which is 150ml and contact details for Alberto-Culver are listed. Nice enough, informative and easy enough to use bottle this is and like I stated earlier this is rather unisex in appearance to.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Listed On The Back Of The Bottle:
A matte effect, texturising spray for long lasting, beach blown fullness.
Ideal to create choppy, messed up, tousled looks
Contains sea salt for a wavy, windswept finish
Helps protect, containing a UV filter.
To use this product you can use this on either dry or damp hair. Its a none sticky watery feeling spray that you directly pump near the hair and it sprays out onto hair making it slightly damp to work with. It has a very light but clean fragrance to it in my opinion and is a bit masculine not being floral or fruity or anything like that and hints to me of an aftershavey sort of whiff.
So it sprays out easy enough, is easy to work with and as you spray it you can scrunch and twist your hair and/or mess it up or whatever. This spray is meant to give a slightly messy looking do with ease and give it a matt look opposed to shiny looking hair so you look sort of windswept and beach babe/guy!
For more body in the hair you can flip your head upside down and so on, backcomb...the product is really versatile and not being sticky at all is really easy to deal with.
However for me although it creates a messed up look, my hair looks grimy being so matt finishing and my hair looses its nice soft feel once this is in it. Also when hair is styled with this, this product is not strong enough to hold the style in place all day long and so you do need to use a good amount of finishing spray/hair spray too.
My hair feels tacky after using this and like it needs a really good wash and apart from the fact that it is so easy to use I just think it isn't great at all. Maybe good on very short hairstyles, better for men purely because of the fragrance I just don't like the way it makes my hair feel and doesn't hold in my acquired and achieved style. I can't recommend this one sadly not even if you can get it for a pound a bottle like I did!
Available in all supermarkets and chemists etc. usually priced at about £3.29 a bottle.
