Vidal Sassoon Diffuser Hair Dryer
I have had this hairdryer for quite some time now, which actually makes a change from my usual few month hair dryers that seem to blow up from over use. I think this is because I actually paid out a little bit more money and got a named hair dryer rather than what I used to do and just buy the cheapest one that was available in the Argos book or indeed places like Woolworth’s and so on.
This particular hair dryer no only looks the part but is lasting well too and for a price paid of around £23 I think this seems to be rather a bargain especially as it came with a diffuser, 4 hair clasps for aiding the drying of hair, a comb albeit not a very good one and a neat little bag I guess to put the dryer in when travelling but I have used the bag to now store all my makeup and bits in so it is rather handy.
This hairdryer is a 2000 watt ionic dryer and it claims that it locks moisture into the hair while you are drying it. I am not so sure about this claims but it does seem to take a lot less time to dry my whole head of hair than it used to with previous old cheap hairdryers and my hair does still look good and undamaged.
There are 3 heat settings, which of course range from pretty cold, warm to bloody hot. I usually have mine set on the middle setting as I find this doesn’t burn my scalp yet still takes hardly no time to dry my head of hair. There is also a cool button that allows you to burst a flash of cool air from the dryer whenever you like. This I suppose is good for finishing off a style but to be honest I rarely use this function and find the button gets in the way more than being of any use.
Along side the heat setting buttons there is also a choice of speed setting, which range from slow or fast. I will always be found to be using the fast one unless I am wanting my hair to go curly then the slower one is better for not blowing away all those curls.
The hair dryer as I have said before comes with a diffuser that is perfect for when you are wanting to create a curl or wavy look of your own. The diffuser can be put up or down for storage and attaches easily to the end of the dryer. The diffuser is basically a plastic section to fit on the end that has a lot of prongs sticking out of it that enables you to curl your hair and dry it at the same time. Of course you are not meant to use the hottest setting for when you are using the diffuser otherwise your head is liable to catch fire and your precious locks will be up in flames!!!
The look of the dryer is great as it is in a lovely purple colour. This is not one of my favourite colours but it does make it look rather different from the standard black issue one that I am so used to buying. There is a rubber handle on this hairdryer that is prefect for when you have damp or moisturised hands and prevents any slipping of the dryer.
Using the dryer could not be easier and I have found it fine when drying hair normally. The only trouble I do have from time to time is with the diffuser, which can occasionally get hair stuck into the retractable prong if you are not overly careful with it. These prongs also have a habit of slipping down as if in storage mode. There does not seem to be a stopper to fix in place for when you have taken in out of storage and are using it and I think that this little added extra would of made the hair dryer as a whole pretty much perfect.
The dryer can be a little too noisy and I wouldn’t dream of drying my hair when the boyfriend is still in bed because this will certainly wake him up. I have found this the case with most hair dryers however and I really do not see it as a big problem (my boyfriend may disagree with this statement somewhat).
Overall, as I have had this hairdryer longer than any other one I have previously owned and the fact that it is still going very strong I would say that it has certainly been worth every penny I paid for it. It looks good and works well. It does everything I would need a hairdryer to do. The fact that it came with the extras such as the comb and carry case is another added bonus and I do think that when I need to get another hairdryer then I shall stick to paying that little bit extra and buy another Vidal Sassoon one.
I think everyone would be happy if they were to buy this particular brand and product. Recommended to all.
Summary: a good dryer for anyone except bald people
