Cheap but effective (Visiq Trio Hairdryer)

Having read all the relevant dooyoos (thanks all!) I decided that it was not worth spending too much money on a new hairdryer. I therefore turned to my Argos catalogue and chose the cheapest fairly powerful hairdryer with a diffuser. It's not that I even need a diffuser (I have completely straight hair) but I like to get a lot for my tenner and one day perms might be fashionable again!

I have never heard of the make the Visiq before, and I wondered whether it would be better to buy a well-known brand. But I decided against this because all brands have a one-year Argos guarantee anyway, so if the dryer only last six months I will have no problem in getting a replacement.

Anyway, I chose the Visiq Trio Hairdryer at £9.99 and I am more than satisfied with it. As well as the diffuser attachment, the dryer also has a concentrator nozzle for smooth styling, and a styling brush and comb.

At 1800W and with 2 heat/speed settings, it is perfectly adequate for basic drying and styling. In fact, it is easier to switch between two different heat settings than four or five, and I certainly can't be bothered to differentiate that much anyway.

The dryer is fairly light and convenient to operate, although it is quite noisy. All in all, it seems to be an excellent dryer for the price although it may be that it will not stand up to very heavy use.
