      Very helpful

Does what it says on the bottle

Having two children who bathe everyday, we tend to use a lot of bath products. Both are still young ( under the age of 5 ) and thankfully most of the time they enjoy bath time, and normally they have a bath together. I bought this product for them while doing an online grocery shop from Tesco.com for £1.24 ( was half price ), size 250ml.

      Why did I buy it?

When my children have a bath together, I tend to throw in soya oil ( prescribed by the GP for my daughters eczema ). One of the things it doesn't do is foam up, and my little boy loves having bubble baths, so doesn't get that much enjoyment out of it. My son has completely normal skin, but thought if my children were to share a bath maybe this would be a gentle product for my little girl as well.

      How is it packaged?

It comes in a 250ml plastic white bottle with a blue lid that when you flip up you are able to pour or squeeze the product out. It looks alittle triangle like in shape with the sides slightly rounded closer to the neck of the bottle so the shape is alittle different.

On the front the label is mostly white, blue and green in colour. The ' Vosene ' logo is in the middle with the word kids underneath. Directly underneath that is the type of product it is/name which is ' Sensitive Hair & Body Wash '.

On the back it tells you what the product does and why its good for children/sensitive bodies, how to use, ingredients and company contact details. It also mentions once opened product has a 12 month shelf life.

Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, PEG-150 Distearate, Sucrose Cocoate, Quaternium-15, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Ormenis Multicaulis (Maroc Chamomile) Oil, Citric Acid.

Who is it suitable for and why?

This is designed for children but especially those with sensitive skins. It has a tear free formulation and does not contain any soap, SLS or SLES which naturally can dry out skins and for those who suffer from issues with skin eg eczema, this sometimes can cause irritation. No added colour, paraben free and hypoallergenic. Basically, this is one of those products that is there to help kids skin stay balanced, healthy, moisturised and non drying. Not to say this isn't something an adult can use, but marketed for kids. On the label is does say suitable for both children and adults.

      How to use

Apply to wet hair and body. Lather up. Rinse off thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

I simply squirt the product under warm running water, shake my hand in the water to create more bubbles, plonk my son in it and then pop some on a sponge to wash him down then rinse. I don't use any on his hair because he has none!

      How do I find it?

The product is naturally fragranced with lavender, but it doesn't smell that strong nor fresh to me. Not offensive but Ive smelt better. I appreciate that its not a manufactured perfume that's been placed in it, but I find the smell lacks depth and sharpness.

The product is clear in colour and typical texture and thickness that you would associate with a bath or shower product. I do find that I use more of this product to create a lather, which doesn't surprise me as it lacks all the nasty rubbish chemicals that they stick into products like this to create the bubbles. I also didn't find the bubbles lasted that long either, but by that point my son wants to get out anyway!

I found the product was effective in cleaning my little boy, easy to use and didn't feel I had to work hard to get him clean. To be honest though in general, hes not really a dirty boy even after a full day in nursery, so don't know how good this is if he was a walking dustbin and I needed to really give him a good scrub, but if its general cleanliness it did its job well.

I didn't find that it dried out his skin during or after, as it still looked very hydrated. No reaction to product either.

I mention my son a lot in this review and not my daughter. I haven't tried this on her purely because shes currently going through a very bad patch with her eczema, and despite there not being the usual stuff in the ingredients list that I would be concerned about,I am unwilling to use it as shes so sensitive right now. More importantly her skin has been that poorly it has been distressing for her to even be in a bath! So not been possible anyway to see how she goes with it.

Would I buy this again? Don't know. Have to take my daughter out of the equation on this one, but for my son it does what is promised-cleans, doesn't irritate, doesn't dry the skin so no real issues. But he wants bubbles, and fun and nice smells which this product doesn't quite delivery on. I appreciate why, but tell that to a 4 year old! On the plus side though, its good all family members can use it. But not too sure how long it would last as I found I used more than maybe a similar sized product for bath time.
