Review of Wash and Go Fresh 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner.
Made by Proctor and Gamble, Wash and Go is one of those shampoos that seem to have been around for many years, I seem to recall it being all the rage back in the early 80's when 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner combos were fairly new on the UK market. Although a familiar brand on supermarket shelves, for some reason it is not one I tend to select when shopping.
I recently purchased a bottle of this from my local 99p store, for yes, that's right 99p!
As the name of the product implies this is a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. This is designed for all hair types.
The shampoo is presented in a fairly large bottle containing 300ml. The bottle is made from a recyclable green coloured plastic and the closure is the push down type, meaning you press down on one side of the cap in order to access the shampoo.
The product has a very pleasant fresh, almost herbal scent. It is, in my opinion, totally unisex, not too over-powering or floral. The colour is a pale green, it is not a particularly thick shampoo and it comes out of the bottle fairly quickly, so caution needs to be taken so that you do not end up with more than required.
I live in a very hard water area and this means foaming products can have a struggle to lather up. Wash and Go lathered adequately, but it was nothing special. The shampoo and conditioner rinsed easily and I was pleased with the light fragrance that seemed to linger in my hair.
The Wash and Go bottle carries a few warnings of the usual type and brief directions for use. These directions are pretty obvious and I won't insult reader intelligence by telling you how to wash your hair! The warnings too are more or less the same as is found on any product of this type, external use only, avoid getting into eyes and so on.
**Price and Availability**
As mentioned earlier in this review, my bottle was bought in the 99p Store. Wash and Go is widely available from supermarkets, chemists and High Street stores. Several shops, including Boots and Tesco are currently selling this for £1 and both stores have a 3 for the price of 2 offer running.
**My Thoughts and Conclusion**
Wash and Go Fresh 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner would be ideal when you are in a hurry and do not have time for a separate conditioning treatment or perhaps for use when travelling in order to save space as you only need take one bottle.
The shampoo certainly cleansed my hair efficiently and the added conditioner seemed to add softness. I would not say this was as good as using a separate conditioner though, as it did little to help the tangles my waist length hair always develops after shampooing and it certainly did not give me any real conditioning benefits.
This a good product as it leaves hair feeling clean and fresh, but in my opinion, that is as far as it goes. I certainly would not run the shampoo down in anyway as it does cleanse, it simply isn't conditioning enough for my hair type. I would not go out of my way to buy this again as I really do not feel that it is suitable for my long hair, that said, I am sure it would suit many people, I am just not one of them!
I am awarding Wash and Go Fresh 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner a 3* rating.
Thank you for reading
