“ Brand: Wash & Go / in 1 shampoo / Type: Hair Shampoo / Subcategory: Conditioner / Further Category: 2 in 1 Shampoo „
I have a rotational system for my shampoos and have up to four shampoos on the go at any one time, especially since I have to wash my hair every morning as it gets greasy quickly. To be honest, I don't like spending a lot of money on fancy shampoos when cheaper versions will do the same job and over the years I have found that you don't have to purchase the fancy brands to get a good shampoo. In fact, one shampoo that I frequently purchase mainly due to the price is the Wash & Go brand, which is very often priced at a £1 in the likes of Poundland, Boots and even the supermarkets.
Although I very often purchase the antidandruff version of the Wash&Go brand, when I needed a normal shampoo a month or so ago I picked up this Wash&Go sports 2 in 1 shampoo in Poundland. The Wash &Go brand is quite recognisable with its green bottle and blue lid.
This shampoo claims to do two things, firstly to leave you with hair that has a clean feel and secondly hair that is manageable. This shampoo (and conditioner built in) has been designed for frequent use and for all hair types.
I have never noticed any major scent with any of the Wash&Go shampoos and this Sports version is no different, but then again, the brand doesn't claim to offer any scent. I don't tend to purchase a shampoo purely on scent, especially if I simply want a decent, good value shampoo that is going to leave my hair clean and feeling and looking in good condition and if there is a bit of volume added then even better!
This shampoo (and conditioner) creates a good lather when used and washes out easily. When wet I am able to brush through my hair without it getting tangled or tatty and I always think that is a good sign of a shampoo when I can do this. After drying my hair, I find that my hair does look and feel very clean and looks in good healthy condition. I also like the fact that although it doesn't add a lot of volume (nor does it claim to) it doesn't make my hair look limp, which is something I struggle with given my fine hair.
All in all, for £1 this may not be the best smelling, volume enhancing shampoo that others are but you are still getting a great everyday shampoo for a brilliant price and I think it is well worth it!
I've recently starting doing a lot more exercise and have found that as a result of getting all hot and sweaty that my hair is needing to be washed more frequently than usual. I tend to use a lot of different shampoos and conditioners depending on what my hair needs and so I thought this Wash and Go Sport would be the ideal thing. It's a combined 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and is designed for frequent use. It is suitable for all hair types. The brand claim this product gives you "great hair [with] no fuss!".
The product comes as a 200ml sized bottle. It's a little smaller than the usual shampoo or conditioners I tend to buy but it's compact size means it's brilliant for packing into a bag for when you go to the gym or swimming. It has a flip lid and it's shape and design makes it look more like a shower gel. It's a good size for perching on those little shower shelves! The lid is very secure but it has a large lip so it's easy to prize open with a fingertip. It has a large hole for easy dispensing. The green plastic bottle is not currently recyclable in my area but check your local recycling services.
There is a little bit of information about the product printed onto the label on the back of the bottle. Proctor and Gamble create this shampoo and it's one of the products in their Wash and Go range which is a range of shampoo and conditioners in one. This Sport variety promises to give you a "clean feel" and "manageable hair". You can use it as often as you like. Full ingredients are also listed on the bottle and although it seems like a whole load of chemicals there are some surprising ingredients such as grapefruit peel oil, camellia leaf extract and woodland strawberry. These are all written in their scientific names though.
The shampoo has a mildly fruity smell, I'd say like juicy green apples, but it also has an underlying soapy fragrance. The liquid is an off green colour and very thick and gloopy. If I had to compare it to another shampoo I'd say it was similar to Head and Shoulders.
I use the same amount of the product as I would do with an ordinary plain shampoo. I have long hair so I need quite a big dollop. I find it easy to work up to a lather on the ends of my hair but feel like nearer the roots where my hair is a bit sweaty and greasy that the product needs to be worked in extra hard. I don't feel that my scalp goes instantly clean and feel that I almost have to scrub my scalp with my fingertips before it feels clean. The fragrance is nice as you work the shampoo into a foam and it's not too strong a scent. The bubbles feel quite creamy on my hair.
I find this product very easy to rinse out. You don't need to wait a minute like you would when applying a regular conditioner. You do what it says on the bottle, wash and go! I do find that when rinsing my hair it doesn't feel soft and silky but rather more feels a bit squeaky and rough. My hair type is dry and frizzy and it's also bleached so it can be very parched sometimes. After using this product my towel dried hair feels a bit thick and tatty. It's much harder to style than if I had used a conditioner.
When my hair is dry it looks and feels exceptionally clean and it has a 'sleek' appearance to it. It does suffer from a lack of softness though. It has a high shine and glossy look but it feels almost like synthethic hair - like a joke wig. I end up having to put a lot of serum on to soften it up a bit. So whilst this product gives me the intense clean I need it also causes the texture of my hair to feel a bit wirey. I have actually started to use an extra conditioner after using this when I'm at home and I find that it dramatically improves the feel of my hair. I do think that for anyone with normal or greasy hair this product will be great but for anyone like me who has very dry, treated hair then it just isn't conditioning enough especially if you use it frequently. I would worry about the long term condition of my hair if I continued to use this product as it is intended to be used.
I would say this product is suitable for both men and women. It can be purchased in supermarkets and chemist stores.
