Advantages: Good shampoo, lathers up very well

Disadvantages: The conditioner isn't brilliant

As you can probably see from my profile photograph, I don't have much patience with styling my hair. While this was a problem in my youth, now I'm older I tend to go for the 'old ladies bowl cut' which requires very little in the way of styling and I can simply drag a comb through my hair most days.

Of course, it still needs washing and as usual I am always looking for products that will cut down even further the amount of time I need to spend on my hair. I only bought Wash & Go because after remembering I needed shampoo I realised I had very little money with me and this was on special offer for £1.29, after seeing it was a 2-in-1 product I thought this seemed a very reasonable price so I grabbed a bottle.

Please note, the bottle I have here is completely different to the one you see above. It's more curvy and pleasing to the eye with a lid you actually have to pull off rather than just flip up, which I personally prefer for some reason.

I have now used Wash & Go three times and am pleased with it, although personally I don't think it's anything special and would be loathe to pay more for it than I did. It has a green pearly appearance and is a thick creamy shampoo, it lathers up beautifully although I did find that I needed to wet my hair rather more than usual to allow it to lather as much as I like it to.

I find it takes a lot of rinsing to remove all the shampoo residue from my hair. Presumably it's the conditioner that makes it adhere so strongly to my hair, but I estimate it took at least an extra minute to rinse all the shampoo out which isn't a problem now I have a walk in shower but if I were still having to rinse my hair whilst bending over the bath I would have been most annoyed - and stiff!

After rinsing and towel drying my hair I immediately realised that the conditioning aspect of Wash & Go isn't terribly good. While my hair felt and looked squeaky clean, it wasn't as soft as if I'd used a separate conditioner and pulling the comb through I was aware that there were still plenty of lugs which indicates to me that the conditioner isn't terribly good in this product.

Because my hair is quite short this isn't really a problem but if you have longer or thicker hair than me then I don't think this product would be much use for you. The conditioner works only to add a little smoothness to my hair and although the shampoo is very good indeed I don't think Wash & Go is really worth the inflated price tag. Admittedly I paid only £1.29 for my bottle but I believe the usual price is around £2.29, and that is simply too much for a decent shampoo yet mediocre conditioner in my opinion.

You're far better to go to Poundland and pick up a separate shampoo and conditioner, and still save yourself 29p!

Summary: A nice enough shampoo to use, but don't put too much faith in the conditioning aspect.

You're like me then Wash-and-go. -Shake-and-dry. I didn't find the conditioner part of the shampoo particularly good either.
