My hair is naturally curly (which I hate) and I do tend to straighten it every day however occasionally, I just don’t have time so I do leave it to dry naturally. However, as well as being curly, my hair is also quite frizzy so I do find I have to add a product otherwise I end up looking like a ball of fuzz.
The mousse retails for £2 for a 300ml canister, there are two choices available, firm and extra firm; I chose the extra firm option.
The mousse comes in a tall blue canister which has a purple design to the front, I think it looks really nice and simple, it is topped with quite a wide nozzle which makes it easy to dispense the product.
Before dispensing the mousse, I always give the bottle a really good shake otherwise I find that initially, the mousse comes out quite watery. The product comes out quite quickly (and it does expand which has caught me out a couple of times) and it has a really nice soft and light texture to it.
I normally apply to my hair whilst wet (after I have combed it), then brush through with a wide tooth comb to ensure it is even distributed, I then give my hair a couple of scrunches and leave it to dry naturally. The mousse has a nice fresh scent to it which last all day long too. I have used similar products in the past and they have left my hair feeling sticky however this doesn't do that, neither does it leave my hair feeling like straw when it has dried which is what I found with other products like this I have used in the past.
The mousse leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft and my curls look nice and bouncy, again, other mousses I have used in the past seem to weigh my hair down but this has the opposite effect. I love the fact that my hair looks nice and shiny too after I have applied.
The results are long lasting, there isn’t a bit of frizz in sight and by the end of the day, my curls look as bouncy and fresh as they did first thing.
I quite like to mousse, it gives my hair a natural look and keeps the frizz at bay so this gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I have to say that I must have tried every hair mousse on the market! I have naturally curly hair and every time I wash my hair (every 2 days) I need to apply mousse once it has been towel dried. The reason for this is to stop is from going wild and making me look like Ive been electrocuted! As you can probably imagine, I go through a hell of a lot of mousse so I need to be able to buy a product very often, that is not too expensive and for it to be one that i can trust. This is it!
Wella curl forming mousse comes in a 200ml can with a lid to prevent any spillages or sprays. The picture above is very different to the one I buy so must have been taken a while ago! The tin is now blue and pink and has the word 'Design' written on the front. There are also small pieces of information on the front, for example, 'with UV absorbers and Pro-vitamin B5'. This hair mousse offers protection against heat styling damage and maximum hold without stickiness. This product really does what is says on the tin and manages to keep my curls in order and leaves them soft and shiny without a sticky build up. This hair mousse also has a very pleasant smell unlike some I have tried which resemble fly spray!
Wella Design curl mousse is perfect for all you ladies who want to add definition to your curls without breaking the bank and can be bought in any supermarket for around £1.69 a tin.
The tin also supplies all ingredients, cautions and directions for use on the back.
Give this mousse a try and your hair will look fab!
I was on holiday and to my horror when getting ready to go out for a night on the town I washed my hair went bounding off to style and dry it to look good enough to be brought free drinks all night and yes, I hadn't packed my usual styling mousse. I was a loyal and trusted Salon Selective mousse user, where was I going to find that in a hurry in Spain? I sent my friend to the shops below our appartments and she came bouncing back with Wella Shock Waves in her greasy little mit. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I hated their products and that the gel I recently tried off of a friend was crap! Still I had to try it anyway.... So, I was wrong - first time for everything. I was pretty amazed at the results as I have very thick and heavy long hair. I only used a small amount of the mousse and I can say that it lasted the whole evening even in a smokey hot sweaty atmosphere of a nightclub. Also the smell is rather nice too - sort of 'appley', I could still smell it in my hair after being in the smokey atmosphere too which was a bonus. It comes in a shiney metalic blue can holding 200ml of white foamy mousse. It comes in several strengths but the one I tried was 'ultra strong'. It claims to be a 'mousse for maximum volume and unshakable support' - well it was certainly put to the test as there was a whole lot of shaking going on in Barcelona that week! It has a 'micro-diffuse-formula' allowing it to coat the hair evenly so that it will not be overloaded or become sticky. The only problem I have since found is that if you do not hold the can completely upright when spaying it the pressure is released from the can and the mousse will not come out. This is usually a problem with other mousse products if you do not hold upside down to spray. Do read the can before use and make sure you hold it the
right way up. I have found that it makes my hair very slightly almost greasy if I use too much of it. It does however leave it pretty soft though. It is also the only mousse that I have felt confident enough to use on dry hair too. Though do use a smaller amount than usual on dry hair. It is a couple of quid over here though I paid around £3.50 abroad - but it was an emergency! Overall a pretty good find and a good product.
