Advantages: smells lovely, holds well

Disadvantages: pressure doesn't hold in can

I was on holiday and to my horror when getting ready to go out for a night on the town I washed my hair went bounding off to style and dry it to look good enough to be brought free drinks all night and yes, I hadn't packed my usual styling mousse.

I was a loyal and trusted Salon Selective mousse user, where was I going to find that in a hurry in Spain?

I sent my friend to the shops below our appartments and she came bouncing back with Wella Shock Waves in her greasy little mit.

I didn't have the heart to tell her that I hated their products and that the gel I recently tried off of a friend was crap!

Still I had to try it anyway....

So, I was wrong - first time for everything.

I was pretty amazed at the results as I have very thick and heavy long hair.

I only used a small amount of the mousse and I can say that it lasted the whole evening even in a smokey hot sweaty atmosphere of a nightclub.

Also the smell is rather nice too - sort of 'appley', I could still smell it in my hair after being in the smokey atmosphere too which was a bonus.

It comes in a shiney metalic blue can holding 200ml of white foamy mousse.

It comes in several strengths but the one I tried was 'ultra strong'.

It claims to be a 'mousse for maximum volume and unshakable support' - well it was certainly put to the test as there was a whole lot of shaking going on in Barcelona that week!

It has a 'micro-diffuse-formula' allowing it to coat the hair evenly so that it will not be overloaded or become sticky.

The only problem I have since found is that if you do not hold the can completely upright when spaying it the pressure is released from the can and the mousse will not come out.

This is usually a problem with other mousse products if you do not hold upside down to spray.

Do read the can before use and make sure you hold it the
right way up.

I have found that it makes my hair very slightly almost greasy if I use too much of it.

It does however leave it pretty soft though.

It is also the only mousse that I have felt confident enough to use on dry hair too. Though do use a smaller amount than usual on dry hair.

It is a couple of quid over here though I paid around £3.50 abroad - but it was an emergency!

Overall a pretty good find and a good product.

I had to use hubby's hair wax when I didn't have any products for myself on holiday :o( It worked surprisingly well on my long hair.
