Advantages: works fast, last long

Disadvantages: got dye everywhere, hard to wash off, shampoo was missing

Now when I am writing my opinions, I try and think what I am putting and try and do a little bit of research on this product. However when I visited the Wella Web Site I could'nt find any information on this product other than the colour mousse which is the same on/off system but none the less a different product.

So then I started to read past opinions and some people have stated production has been stopped. Also I note in some opinions the prices were three times as much as what I have paid for it. So maybe my local pharmacy where I purchased yesterday have got an odd batch so I can tell you is how effective it is and my experience of it.

I found this on/off system in my chemist yesterday for £2 and thought I would give it a go. The on part of the system is if you like it, fine. The off part of the system is that if you dont like it, you have to buy another product from the Wella range.

The Packaging
-------------
This comes in a cardboard box approximatley 6 inches by 6 inches. on the front of the box is a lady with long dark brown hair and the colour coding which in this case is 30, Espresso Darkest Brown. It also states it will last for up to 20 shampoos and that its the on/off system at wella and is reversible. On the side, it tells you about the contents and to be honest it tells you a lot about the colour remover you can buy if you dont like it. This I find very strange, buy a product then it yaks on about if you dont like it buy our other product to remove it! Weird. There is also some cautions at the bottom which ill go into later.

The Contents
------------
Its a transparent bottle with white fluid inside that fills nearly half the bottle, the lid has a silver screw top and there is a blue label at the bottom of the transparent part telling you what the product is and that there is 60ml of hair dye.

At the bottom of the transparent bottle there is a purple bottle which is attached to th
e transparent part. There is a silver banding across it and to activate the both bottles, you have to remove it and twist in the directions of the arrows and shake like mad for a couple of mins. the soloution then goes a dark reddish brown colour.

There is an instruction sheet inside which tells you how to use this product and a pair of transparent disposable gloves also.

There is also a sachet for shampooing your hair afterwards which is in a small foiled packet. Oh suprise suprise its not in the box, very disappointing, oh well Ill have to use my own shampoo then.

How to use
----------
Remove the silver banding from the purple part of this bottle and twist in the direction of the arrows till you can twist no more. Then you have to shake like mad. The colour turns to a reddish brown sort of colour, hope it doesnt come out this colour but hey ho. Then you unscrew the lid from the bottle and apply to dry hair. Start at your roots and work your way down. Now the first thing that I find with this product is the smell is not to bad, its smells of chemicals but not as bad as some where all you can smell is peroxide. I can just about put up with this smell for 20 mins. I also find the fluid to be quite runny and gets everywhere so if you ever use this make sure you cover everywhere in sight.

The results
-----------
After 20 mins, you wash your hair and shampoo it as normal using the sachet but in my case there is none so i'll have to use my own shampoo.

Yes it has worked quite well, its left my hair dark brown and it has covered up most of my grey hairs.
It has left my hair shiny and well conditioned. Good result.

Cautions
---------
Cover everywhere in sight and wear old clothes as the liquid is runny.
If you get it in your eyes, wash out your eyes with cold water.
If you dont like it go and buy the off product which apparently costs £4 but how can I if its been stopped.
Wear
the protective gloves even when washing it out of your hair otherwise you will turn brown as well.
Dont use if your hair is more than 50% grey.

Would I recommend it to my friends
----------------------------------
Although the product worked and I was impressed with it, i would have to say no, Its supposed to be an on/off system, On with the dye, great if you like it but if you dont you have to buy the off product to get it out of your hair. I have researched the product via other peoples reads and on the Wella internet site and could find no mention of the product at all. Also the shampoo was missing so I couldnt tell you about it other than it was supposed to be in there.

I would only recommend this to some one if I was totally happy with the product.

It does come in different colours for your hair, I saw all different shades of browns and blacks and blondes in my chemist.

I paid £2 for this which is very good for a hair dye, but not so good if your looking for a product to use in the future as I cannot tell you whether they are still making it.

No thanks Wella, Ill stick to my normal hair dye. Lack of information everywhere I have looked for this.

Doesn't hair dye just smell awful? I have to have all the windows open when I do mine! Very detailed review, I'll check the shampoo sachet is included if I try Wella hair dye next time.

I have a skinhead so never need these products, but a good review all the same.
