I've been using the shockwaves max hold gel for a couple of years now. It makes my hair spikey, very spikey. That's a good thing, until the next day when you wake up, go to the bathroom and look in the mirror. You'll jump a mile in shock when you see the state of your unruly barnet. Hair will be sticking up all over the place at odd angles. If like me, you use it every day, you'll need to wash your hair frequently, not only to get rid of the mid morning carnage that is your hair but also to de-gunk your scalp as the gel tends to dry it out.
Saying that, pre-bedtime you can't really fault this gel. Coming in a nice little blue tube, you apply a small dollop to your hands and apply to your hair (sorry to state the flipping obvious!). How you style your hair is up to you. Recently I've been trying to spike up my fringe a la the bloke from the TV series 'Angel', though my friends think it makes me look like Morrisey, except blonde (and good looking I hasten to add. My picture on my member's page is a testimony to that!).

The hold from this gel is excellent. I find it works best if I use a hairdryer to make it set quickly as once this is done your style is locked in place and a hurricane won't be able to shift it. It feels tacky on your hands so it's best to wash them straight after styling. It costs £2.99 but is regularly available as a 2 for 1 offer so keep your eye out for that as £1.50 represents cracking value for a gel that performs this well.
I'd recommend this product to people, especially when it's on offer. It's very popular and is available almost everywhere, though if you want the best gel on the market, try Modastyling gel. It's a little more expensive and is difficult to come by.
