[Unfortunately, I cannot submit this review under the category for Vosene, as the 'write a review' option does not appear!]

For the last few months, I have been suffering from an itchy scalp. I have tried several shampoos to relieve the itching, but none of them seemed to do the trick.....That was until I tried Vosene. My hairdresser recommended it, because it is supposed to be milder and more natural that some other medicated shampoos. So off I went and bought a bottle. A 250ml bottle cost me £1.92 from Morrisons, which is quite cheap for a medicated shampoo.

Vosene Shampoo is made by Wella. There are several varieties on the market, but I chose the 'Original' variety, which is designed to protect against dandruff when used regularly and help maintain healthy looking hair and scalp. It comes in a pale green bottle, with a dark green lid and looks quite basic in appearance. Don't let this put you off, though! The colour green is only used to denote the shampoo's natural, unadulterated quality.

The shampoo itself may not look particularly inviting at first, with its brown, runny texture and strong, medicated smell, but this is only to be expected. After all, Vosene is a medicated shampoo! I have tried other medicated shampoos in the past, like Neutragena T-Gel, and found them to be exactly the same in terms of how they smell and look.

So how would I describe the smell of Vosene? Well it is a cross between tea tree oil and a pine-smelling disinfectant. It is a fresh smell, and even if you don't like it, it soon fades once your hair is dry, so no worries there.

Vosene is very easy to use. Simply squirt a small amount of the shampoo onto your hand and apply to damp hair. Then massage into your hair to form a lather. Leave it for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water. You may find it necessary to repeat this procedure, but I found doing it the once was sufficient. Like with any shampoo, contact with the eyes should be avoided. If, however, this should happen, you are advised to rinse your eyes with clean water. There is also a warning on the bottle that the shampoo should be kept out of reach of children.

After washing, your hair is left feeling pleasantly soft and silky. However, it is the longer-lasting effects which are most important and this is where Vosene scores full marks. Regular use meant that my scalp felt a lot less itchy and less prone to dandruff. Although I have never really suffered severely from dandruff, I have still noticed an improvement in the way my hair feels and a reduction in the amount of dandruff. Dandruff is actually caused when your scalp loses its natural protection, but because Vosene contains deep cleansing ingredients which help eradicate dandruff and maintain the natural protection of your scalp, the anti-dandruff effects are felt for much longer than with some other shampoos. And less dandruff also means less itching!

Overall then, Vosene Original shampoo definitely gets the thumbs up from me, and I can't really fault it in any way. It has worked better than any other medicated shampoo I have tried in the past and is not expensive to buy either. So if you suffer from an itchy scalp and/or dandruff, it might be worth trying Vosene.

I never used to use a shampoo and conditioner, but as I have got older my skin and hair condition has changed.
Gone have the days when I would stick my head under the tap to wash then towel dry my hair, going out with wet hair in the summer to leave it to dry naturally in the heat of the sun.
Now I have to take more time and get the condition of my hair looking good. Not only does my job demand a well turned out appearance but it also makes you feel good if your hair is looking it's best.

I swap and change my shampoo and conditioner like the weather, I'm never loyal to any brand as there is always something new and better coming onto the market to tempt you with natural vitamin or fruit content, or low price, but some things never change and there are a few tried and trusted products which I do go back to if there is nothing on offer in the shop and Vosene is one of them.

Vosene is the brand name of a shampoo and conditioner, it's made by Wella which is a well known household name, the conditioner which this review is about will cost you anything from £1 in the pound shop to £1.25 in the supermarkets, depending on where you buy it from.
The bottle is a light green plastic one with a light blue flip up lid. The Wella logo is situated on the left hand side of the top of the label which has a teardrop picture of the conditioner with the letters Vosene in white across the front, just incase your not sure what your looking for .

This conditioner is light and gentle and it really does make your hair feel different from the minute you rub it into your hair.
The best way to use this is to wash your hair then rinse and put a drop of conditioner into the palm of your hand, about a size of a ten pence piece will do.
Massage this amount into the hair starting at the top of the head and making sure it is distributed evenly along the lenght of the hair, more conditioner can be added to the hair if it is longer than the shoulder lenght.
Leave the conditiner on the hair for about three to five minutes and then rinse off. Making sure you have rinsed it all out of the hair properly to avoid the hair becoming greasy the day after use.

You will notice at once the difference in the condition of your hair, combs and brushes will be more easy to glide through the hair, it will feel smooth when you have dried it with the hairdryer and will be less fly away.
If you straighten your hair you will find that it doesn't dry out as quickly when you have used the straighteners too often, as they do make the hair break but with good conditioner like vosene you will find that your hair is stronger and more managable than before.

The conditioner is not as thick as other conditioners which is why it is best to put the liquid onto your hand before use and not straight onto your head.
Otherwise you could use more than you intended and then be left with greasy hair.
The white conditioner has a nice scent something like roses and maybe a hint of jasmine but it's hard to tell, however this scent does linger for a while on your hair after drying so it's quite nice to have good looking scented hair.

I do like this product and if there's nothing on offer in the shops I usually go for this brand, so I'd recommend it to you.
