Advantages: Easy to use, straight out of shower, cheaper than some, silky, smooth

Disadvantages: Frying noise when using, wear out after a while

I had a pair of these Remington Wet 2 Straight before I bought some GHD's and although I would not go back to them after using the GHD's I did really like them at the time and would recommend them.

I have quite thick, curly hair and it has always been a problem to straighten. With other straighteners I found I would have to wait hours for my hair to dry beofre I could use them as the end result did not look good. With these I found I could literally walk out of the shower and straighten my hair although the older I got I did find that I preferd by hair to be damp to achieve the same results.

The featues of this straighteners included a control that let you choose thick or fine hair, a damp/dry selection and also had a temperature control. They had ceramic plates. They worked by basically using the steam from the water in your hair to dry the rest of the hair as you pulled the plates through it.

The one offputting point was the noise it made, your hair basically sizzled liek frying bacon which could give the impression that you were frying your hair off but it's not true. My hair actually felt very sleek and smooth after use which was nice. The straighteness lasted until the next wash as well which was nice. I even found that if I went out in the rain my hair was ok and didn't curl too much so the straightness obviously worked.

Quite good value as I believe Boots have them on sale for £59.99 compared to approx £120 for a pair of GHD's but you may have to buy a new pair sooner than you would with GHD's because I felt mine were wearing out after about 2 years.
All in all definitely a product I would recommend.

Summary: A quick and easy way to straighten your after after you step out of the shower!

I've always been warned against these by my hairdresser, she says they are far too hot and dying/damaging for your hair. I would like to give them a go tho.
