Advantages: good results, quick and easy

Disadvantages: a bit harsh on your hair

I have very thick wavy uncontrollable hair and these do a good job of taming it with the added bonus if being a lot quicker than blow drying and then straightening. Whereas before It would take about 45 minutes to blow dry and then straighten, with these I can do it in under half an hour.

It is a bit worrying at first because they spit and hiss a bit but I've been using them for over a year and they don't do any more damage than normal straighteners. If you are going out for a special occasion then it might help to use them to do your hair and give them a quick go over before you leave because the hair can sometimes go a bit bushy again after an hour or so.

You can also decide whether to use them when your hair is still quite wet which gives better results or wait til it gets a bit dryer which isn't so harsh.

Summary: great for taming rebellious hair
