Advantages: works well, cheap, quite powerful

Disadvantages: small, only 2 settings, lead not long enough!

I am quite a lazy person and rarely ever wash my own hair, preferring to just pay someone and get it done at the hairdressers! For thr odd occasion I do wash my hair, it gets extremely short and curly so it is necessary for me to use a blow dryer to help it bsck to it's less animalistic-looking state!

Being on an extremely tight budget, I bought this dryer from argos a few months ago as it wsa about £4.99 and the cheapest there was on offer. I didn't need any fancy expensive hair dryer as like I mentioned before it wasn't going to get much use! Waiting at the collection point in argos and the staff member calling my number I admit I was surprised as he had a very small box in his hand! I knew it said "compact" but didn't expect it to be so tiny! In any case I took it home and opened the box to see what I had paid for.

Inside the box was a small black blowdryer, almost the size of a toy blow dryer my daughter used to have for her doll! The lead from the dryer to the plug isn't very long at all. No more than 2 metres which means to blowdry my hair I have to move a mirror closer to the wall where the socket is so I can actually see what I am doing when I dry my hair! It also comes with a detrachable head as in the picture which blows the heat out in a small narrow hole for more concentration when brushing and drying my hair simultaneously which I find ideal as it helps to dry my hair and straighten it at the same time.

This has 1200 watts and 2 heat settings which seem to be warm, or blazing hot! As I use heat protector spray, I use the blazing hot setting as I would be standing there all day under the warm temperature! In light of this, I do not think this dryer would be ideal for users who may want a more customisable heat, as my previous hairdryer (many moons ago!) had about 4 settings which was useful, but for the price I paid for this dryer I cannot complain

To be honest, this is a good little hairdryer and you pretty much pay for the value you get. It's cheap so doesn't have any fancy extras or settings but it dries my hair quickly and efficiently which is what I need it to do! I have had it few months and for £5 it has lasted longer than I would have expected it to, after my first impressions so with that I am happy to continue using it until it gives up on me!

Summary: cheap but decent dryer from argos!
