A great every day and travel dryer for under £18

When my old hairdryer blew up and died after only 2 years (it was an unbranded one from M&S) I decided to go back to my old and trusted brand, BaByliss, as my hairdryer before that lasted me a good 5 years on daily use.

Space is a bit of an issue for me, I keep my hairdryer in my bedside table, so when I saw the BaByliss 5282DU online for only £19 (it's since dropped in price to around £17) I went for it, because it is a compact hairdryer with 2 heat settings and powerful enough for me at 1500W (I have shoulder length hair and give it a blast every morning for around 3 minutes. No intricate styles for me!).

The BaByliss 5282DU is about the size of my outstretched hand which means it fits into the drawer with it's cable with ease, it's about 2 thirds of the size of my old hairdryer. The colour is nice, too - it's in a dark royal purple with a white logo to the side and black plastic accents (the nozzle, concentrator attachment, grille at the back, handle, hanging hook, cord, switch and plug).

The hairdryer feels well made but doesn't make your arm ache to use, and kicks out a good blast with it's 1500W motor. It has 2 heat settings on a push up switch on the handle, I prefer the hotter, and gets my hair dry in about three minutes, which when you're rushing for work is brilliant. For me it's a very well made hairdryer, probably a bit basic for some, but it more than makes up for it with it's sturdy build, and it's convenient size, which means it's ideal for travel.

The BaByliss 5282DU comes with a 12 month warranty which can be activated online and is available in larger high street electrical retailers and online. The price is excellent for a branded hairdryer - I've paid less for an own brand and been dissapointed but I'll be sticking with BaByliss as I'm very happy with the BaByliss 5282DU, especially for the money.
