After many years of use my Revlon hair dryer finally gave up on me and refused to blow warm air. Looking around for a new hair dryer I was impressed by all the positive reviews I read for the Babyliss 5541cu and decided that it was the model for me! What really swung it was the fact it has a powerful motor and a 5 year warrenty.

This model has what is known as ionic conditioning. When you heat dry your hair it often produces static that leaves hair looking dull and frizzy. Iconic conditioning emits negative ions to help reduce static, leaving hair sleek and frizz free.

I bought this hair dryer from my local Boots for £25 ish and have just seen that it is available from Argos for £24.97 and Amazon for £24.49. The hair dryer came well packaged. Inside the box was the hairdryer with 3 metre flex, removable nozzle and an instruction leaflet.A diffuser.

My opinion.

The hairdryer is a bit heavier than by previous model, but it is still light enough to hold comfortably. It feels and looks well made and I like the sleek design. The handle is well designed making it easy to hold.
The heat and speed switches are a rocker type design and are well positioned and easy to operate. I do find that the fastest speed is too powerful and tend to blow my hair all over the place! However it is great for my son's thick hair and dries it very quickly.

The highest heat setting is quite hot and I prefer to use the medium heat setting. This dries my hair quickly. I also like to use a blast of cool air to help give shine to my hair.
I am a bit disappointed by the claims that this dryer reduces static and frizz. I can't say I have noticed any difference since using this dryer. If I dry my hair using the hottest setting my hair still ends up with static and frizz!

I always use the hair dryer with the removable nozzle in place although it is easy enough to remove it if you want to.
I love the long 3 metre flex that this model has! It means I can plug it in and still see without having to remove my bedroom mirror.

The diffuser is good for creating curls and something I use quite often.
There is a removable filter situated at the end of the hair dryer that can be removed to clean out any fluff or dirt. This is easy to do and is fully explained in the instruction booklet.

Overall this is a really good hair dryer with a very powerful motor! I have been using it for several months now and hope it will last! However it remains to be seen if it really will last for the 5 year length of its warranty!
