Babyliss Elegance 2100 Hairdryer
Advantages: Ionic technology, lightweight, good price.
When I say to suit my needs, I don't really have any requirements when it comes to choosing a hairdryer other than it must have ionic conditioning.
Since discovering the advantages of owning a hairdryer with ionic conditioning a good few years ago after buying an Andrew Collinge ionic hairdryer I have since refused to use anything else. This is because the results I get after drying my hair with an ionic hairdryer are much better than if I used a non-ionic one. Indeed I am left with smooth, frizz-free, hair instead of the often dry and frizzy look I would end up with if using a non-ionic hairdryer.
It is because of these results, that I have preferred to take my own hairdryer with me whenever I go away, rather than use hotel hairdryers. As handy and convenient as it may be to use a hairdryer provided by a hotel etc, I personally find the results after using them to dry my hair are disappointing as they are not ionic.
This Babyliss Elegance 2100 hairdryer first caught my eye in Sainsbury's, but priced at £27 this was more than I wanted to pay. A few days later however, I spotted the same hairdryer on sale in Boots at a promotional offer price of £18.65 reduced from the usual price of £27.99 and I decided to buy it.
~~ Babyliss Elegance 2100 Hairdryer Lilac ~~
This Babyliss Elegance Hairdryer is a limited edition, finished in a metallic-looking lilac which makes it very attractive-looking. Whilst the colour of the hairdryer was not something I considered to be important when deciding which one to buy, I must admit the colour is very appealing and I would imagine it would be a popular choice with young girls too.
A powerful 2100 watts drives this hairdryer's high-torque motor and it also has advanced fan technology for ultra-fast drying even on thicker hair. With double the air pressure of a normal dryer, this means this hairdryer can cut your hair drying time in half. Its ionic technology ensures frizz-free drying results with a high-shine finish, and Babyliss claim that the heat balancing ceramic technology provides smooth results every time.
There are three heat and two speed settings on the hairdryer as well as a cool shot button to set and style your hair and a detachable slim concentrator nozzle.
The hairdryer comes with an impressive 3 year guarantee.
~~ Using the hairdryer ~~
My first thoughts on picking up this hairdryer was how light it felt in comparison to the two previous hairdryers I have used, one of which was considerably heavy. It fits comfortably in my hand and its light weight ensures drying my long hair is a comfortable experience.
As mentioned there are three heat settings and two speed settings plus the cool shot button. I tend to use the high heat and high speed setting for the initial drying of my hair and then finish off with the lower heat and speed settings. I keep the nozzle attached throughout and find I can dry my hair quickly and easily and am left with smooth frizz-free hair.
The cool shot button is not something I use each time I dry my hair, but if going somewhere special and using a round brush for the ends of my hair, I find a blast from the cool shot sets my hair into a curl which holds after I release the brush my hair and therefore is an added bonus to help style your hair.
The thing I love the most about this hairdryer however, is its ionic conditioning and I love the results of this on my hair. The ion generator produces a stream of negative ions which act to neutralise the static charge and smooths your hair leaving it frizz-free.
Some people have asked me in the past if using an ionic hairdryer really does make a difference and I always tell them yes as I can certainly tell the difference on my hair and am willing to enthuse about the benefits of using an ionic hairdryer to anyone who will listen!
I am really happy with this hairdryer and cannot find anything negative to say about it as it does exactly what it claims to do and I am happy with that.
The Babyliss Elegance 2100 Lilac Hairdryer is still only £18.65 at Boots and is also currently only £18.45 at John Lewis, so there is no need to pay the usual price of £27.99 for this hairdryer at the moment. It would make an ideal Christmas gift and it is possible to buy the matching straighteners in this limited edition colour also.
Summary: An atrractive stylish hairdryer with great ionic conditioning.
