About Babyliss Nano Hairdryer
Babyliss is a well-know hair care brand. They manufacture hairdryers, hair straightening irons, curling tongs etc. I brought thebabyliss nano hairdryer for use when going on holiday or short trips. It is a very light hairdryer and fits neatly away in the suitcase.
The Babyliss Nano Hairdryerhas a manufacturer warranty period of three years, and I have owned this hairdryer since June 2013 so I am hoping that no problems occur after three years!
Value for money
Babyliss Nano Hairdryer at the time of writing this review, currently costs only £10 at Tesco, £11.99 at Argos, £10.80 at Debenhams and strangely £3.75 at Boots. Babyliss Nano Hairdryer is available in different colours such as pink, purple, blue and green. I brought the Babyliss Nano hairdryer in pink, for £15 from Littlewoods.
Ease of use
The cord length of Babyliss Nano Hairdryer is 1.8 metres which is decent enough for the hairdryer to extend from the wall, to way beyond the height of the dressing table and I am able to dry my hair with ease. The babyliss nano hairdryer uses power of 1200 watts. There are 3 heat settings and 2 speed settings. I am to dry my hair quite quickly using this hairdryer and I get good heat coverage and my hair is usually dry within minutes. I use the 2nd speed setting and 3rd heat setting to get the maximum effect. The concentrator nozzle is good at focusing on the section of hair on the paddle brush but I do feel that its not good for drying the scalp as the heat is too concentrated.
Conclusion about Babyliss Nano Hairdryer
I would suggest that you buy the Babyliss Nano Hairdryer if you are looking for a hairdryer to take on holiday or for just quick drying. It is not really suitable for drying long thick hair though!
I have both the Babyliss Nano hairdryer and the matching straighteners as I received them at Christmas last year as a present.
When I first opened them I thought they were absolutely adorable but I didn't think they would be as good as they actually are just because they are so small and 'cute'.
The hairdryer actually looks like a toy one and is also pink in colour so it is very girly. I cannot reiterate just how funky and cute it actually is in the flesh. I was dying to use it as soon as I saw it just based on how it looked.
The dryer has a 1200w power so it is a lot more forceful than you might think looking at it. There are two speed and heat settings and it even comes with a nozzle so that you can concentrate and direct the air and heat to specific parts of your hair.
Basically this is a fabulous little dryer for the money and if anything happened to my larger main dryer I think I would probably just use this instead of spending money to replace it as it does a great job of drying my hair. It is really powerful and also really hot so it gets my hair dry in no time at all. It does take a tiny bit longer to dry my hair with this as opposed to my larger dryer but not as much more time as I expected and the results are really good as it also works to straighten my hair a little when I am drying it.
This would be great for kids and teenagers to use but it is still absolutely suitable for an adult woman to use who has longer and thicker hair. I always now take this and the matching straighteners on holiday with me instead of lugging my larger ones with me and although they do take that tiny bit longer they still leave my hair looking just as good as their larger counterparts and they are also much easier to pack and carry.
This was one of the best and most useful gifts that I have received and it only costs £12 so it is also an absolute bargain too. I think it is well worth the money and people who have maybe seen this in the shops and admired their looks but doubted that they would be any good will be in for a pleasant surprise when they actually use it.
As many of you will know if you read my reviews often enough I shuttle myself between two properties on a regular basis. Due to ill health I find it necessary to stay at my parents quite alot but I do have my own place too so in effect I have two bedrooms!
With long hair that needs styling to look anywhere near decent I was lugging my trusty hairdryer two and fro for the past few months. Fed up with doing that I decided I needed a new one to leave at my mums.
I bought this little one for a few reasons really. Being small its easy to store, its compact and light so great for travel (I.E if I go into hospital) and with mobility issues I really did want something lightweight. I bought this from Argos a few months back now when it was on offer for a tenner however it is now priced at £14.99, still a good price for a Babyliss product I'm sure you will agree.
I never usually keep the boxes that my electrical come in however I'm not sure why I did but this, I do keep in its original box! The box is black with a photograph on the front of it and we are clearly told that it is Babyliss Nano 'Dry' 1200 'Fast drying - 1/2 the size Mini Dryer With Powerful Airflow' and that it has 2 heat/speed settings and has multi-voltage for worldwide use and is 'Ideal for travel and leisure, lightweight, compact' and then on the sides and the back of the box other information listed includes being told a bit more about the hairdryer and what you can expect from it, on the back of the box there is a drawing of the dryer and we are told and shown the actual size of it which is 15cm, we are told that it has a 3 year guarantee with it and then inside the box you get the hairdryer of course, a guarantee to fill in and send off (or you can fill it in online) and a concentrator nozzle and a small instruction leaflet.
When I bought this I had a choice of bright fuchsia pink or purple in colour and decided on the purple as I love purple....its that simple. I was really pleased when I opened it all up and was surprised by how light and dinky this is but at first failed to see because of its size how it could possibly dry my hair!
It really is a small dryer this one, the main of it is shiny purple plastic (in my case!) with Babyliss being written in silver writing to the top section of it just before the nozzle area. The handle is not too wide but with enough hand room to be able to hold it properly. On the front of that handle there is a black ridged plastic slider with heat/speed settings simple listed as 1 (to the bottom), push up for it to be faster and warmer (2) and off is simply keeping it to the middle setting, it really couldn't be more simple or straightforward!
It comes with a black plastic concentrator nozzle which just gently pushes on to where the air comes out of and its really simple to remove as well and this can be used for drying/styling a specific area of course should you want to. There is a black plastic filter to the back of it which pulls off and can be cleaned and it has a really long power cable.
To look at this is a really cute and well made hairdryer. Simple to understand and use, it really doesn't take rocket science to work out the settings on it, off, one or two and that's it. I love the lightness of it, especially when my M.E is beating me around the head and it really is pretty to look at to and excudes quality!
The only downside of this is that it is noisy when in use. The area where the air comes out of is rather small and so the noise is loud however there is a real difference on this between the 1 heat/speed setting and the 2 setting being alot hotter and with faster air though noise wise there isn't that much difference to be honest and it isn't awful!
I do struggle to style my hair with this because it drys such a small area at a time however I can dry my hair fast enough which is great by just wafting it around my head without the nozzle on. It is quite powerful for its small size and does its job well...just for styling its hard!
However I have owned travel/compact hairdryers in the past and wasn't that keen on any of them but this really is great as its so small and light and its well made and looks fabulous too. It will never replace my usual large hairdryer but at the same time I wouldn't want to be without it either!
Widely available, do shop about for bargains though with it as I did!

When my trusty Boots hairdryer gave up on me after three years of daily use I found myself looking round for a replacement but didn't want to spend much money. I asked my hairdresser friend what she recommended for me and she suggested I try the Babyliss Nano 1200. I have short hair which is quite thick but dries really quickly so didn't need an all singing all dancing model with lots of gadgets or attachments as I just point my dryer and use my hand to style and dry my hair.
I looked online and was surprised to find this item in purple which is my favourite colour (and also matches my bedroom) at John Lewis for £9.99 as I have always considered John Lewis to be a bit on the expensive side. The attachments it comes with are a diffuser and also a styling nozzle which you clip on to the end of the dryer however I like to keep things simple and don't use either of these but have put them away in a drawer just in case someone else wants to use them or in case I do fancy using them at a later date.
The dryer is probably half of a normal sized dryer and is very lightweight and comfortable to hold. It dries my hair in around three to four minutes which is about the right amount of time I allocate myself in the morning when I get up for work. There are just two heat and two speed settings which are changed easily by sliding a plastic switch to your preferred setting. I usually use the lower heat along with the higher speed which seems to suit my hair but will use the lower speed if I am just drying my fringe as this can get a bit frizzy if I put too much heat on it.
The dryer is very quiet and I can have a conversation easily if someone is in the room when I am using it. Although it is much smaller than a lot of dryers it does seem to have an awful lot of power. It is also multi-voltage so you can pop it in your suitcase or bag if you are going away and as it is quite compact won't take up too much valuable space in your luggage. You alter the voltage easily enough by using a screwdriver (or a womans screwdriver the nail file!) to set it to whatever setting you need.
The dryer has a non slip surface so is easy to hold on to as you usually have some sort of product on your hands when you are drying your hair. It has a three year guarantee and comes in other bright colours including bright pink and a lovely turquoise shade.
The only downside I would say about this dryer is if you have really long thick hair as I think you would need a more powerful dryer as it could take you some time to dry your hair but for someone with short hair like mine it is a great little dryer, it has never let me down and it didn't break the bank to buy, so it comes recommended by me.
I have one of these hairdryers in hot pink for when I am travelling.
The hairdryer is 1200w but it is actually quite powerful, even on the lower setting it blasts out the heat, drying your hair in no time. The settings are easy to reach when you are using the hairdryer so you don't have to place the hairdryer on a surface in order to change the settings. The hairdryer is pleasant to use. It's not too heavy and I manage to get a good grip on it thanks to it's non slip body.
The hairdryer isn't ionic but it doesn't damage the hair either. I tend to have this on the lowest setting most of the time as this dries my hair pretty quickly. However you can set it to a higher setting. I sometimes do this but I find that my hair ends up in a bit of an afro so I tend to use the lower setting more!
The hairdryer is sturdy and durable. It's well made and it's not too large in size so it is easy to carry out and about with you. It heats up quickly and it doesn't leave a "burnt" smell on your hair after use. You can also give your hair a blast of cold air to set your style.
I would recommend this hairdryer. Plus I love the range of funky colours too!
Purchased from Amazon for £14.77.
Along with the straighteners that my boyfriend bought me to keep at his place, I also got a travel hairdryer to match. The model that we chose was the exact match to the straighteners - the BaByliss 5546DU 1200W Nano Hair Dryer in purple. This came from Amazon.com and cost £13.60. The hairdryer is available in others colours which also match the other colours available in the straighteners.
On the handle of this hairdryer is a heat and speed setting. There is a little piece of plastic which slides up and down to change the settings. This is placed in a very handy place so you can change settings easily in the middle of drying your hair. Changing these settings was very comfortable to do due to where the feature was placed. I found that I could slide the plastic down while in the middle of use without having to stop and look at the handle.
As you can probably tell, I like my hair as straight as I can get it and this product comes with a styling nozzle. The nozzle clips on to the front of the hairdryer so you can choose whether or not you want to use it. I find using this concentrates where the heat is directed and it definitely does help to blow dry your hair straight. I keep this constantly attached as I do with my other hairdryer.
This hairdryer is a 1200W travel product so it is quite powerful. Like the straighteners, I was slightly worried that it would take a long time to dry my hair with this product as there is so much of it. However, I was wrong to be worried. Surprisingly, this hairdryer is nearly as powerful as the one I have at home and it didn't take much longer at all to dry my hair completely. I was very impressed with the results that this hairdryer gave as I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so good for the price.
As this is a travel hairdryer, it does have multi-voltage capability so you can take it wherever you like. To change the voltage, you just need to turn the little screw on the side of the hairdryer with a screwdriver to whichever setting you need. I love that this is a proper travel hairdryer instead of just being a smaller version of a normal one. I will definitely be taking this abroad with me now that I know I won't end up blowing the fuses or something.
I love this little hairdryer and it is perfect for what I need it for. It is great value for money and I would highly recommend it if you don't like carrying a big hairdryer around when you travel.
As a frequent traveller, I needed to be able to sort my hair out quite quickly because I'm always on the go. For some reason however I've never owned my own hair dryer, meaning that if I wanted clean dry hair in the morning then I'd have to sleep with wet hair.
Over Christmas I decided to treat myself to a hair dryer. I found the Babyliss nano dry 1200 in Wilkinsons for £15 (it can also be found in other online and high street retailers). The two main reasons for buying this particular model was the fact it was small and compact and therefore ideal for my case, as well as the fact it is pink!
So, is it actually any good as a hairdryer? All I can say is yes!
When you pick it up you feel instantly that this is a lightweight hairdryer which is comfortable to hold and doesn't add unnecessary baggage weight. The design is sleek and the handle is chunky enough to look sturdy without being too thick to hold comfortably.
To operate the hairdryer you simply push the switch. The hairdryer has two heat settings, one which is great for blasting your hair dry and the other for setting your chosen hairdryer.
With it being such a light hairdryer you do worry whether it will be powerful enough but this model packs a punch. I have almost shoulder length hair which has layers, and I find I can dry my hair all over in under 15 minutes.
The hairdryer comes with a handy small diffuser which is easily clipped into place, but this is not necessary if you don't want to be lugging extra additions around.
Although the hairdryer works incredibly well, it is not overly noisy. We all know that all hairdryers make noise to a point, but I don't believe this product is annoyingly loud.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again, in fact I am considering buying a second in a different colour to keep at the boyfriends house!
I could never be without a hairdryer again and I hope I get a few years worth of use out of this one. A great product and something I shall heartily recommend to friends
