“ Brand: Boots / Type: Hair Dryer „
Advertised as a hair dryer than dries your hair in the same amount of time as a conventional model, but using 50% less energy this is Boots latest attempt to tap into the Eco market. Given that your average hairdryer, used for five minutes a day, uses the same amount of energy in a year as lighting your entire house, this seems a sound move!
Yet the hairdryer isn't particularly powerful, meaning I generally hold down the 'boost' button (which increases the impact of the highest of the two heat settings), presumably largely negating the environmental benefits (though to what extent is unclear).
VALUE FOR MONEY
This product normally retails at £17.99 - providing not very good value for money when many premium branded models are available for in the region of £20. The £7.99 it has recently been retailing for is another matter. However given the limitations described above it's probably best used only as a travel or occasional option.
Relatively compact, white with green detailing (rather than the black shown on the Dooyoo image) it's perfectly easy on the eye. And lets face it, appearance isn't usually the first thing you're bothered about when you're buying a new hairdryer.
***Why I bought this hair dryer?***
Well first of all the hair dryer had over 50% off the price so my eyes quickly shot over to look at it. I picked it up and thought I quite liked the thought of trying to be eco friendly. But I thought I have quite long hair and I don't want a hair dryer that isn't as powerful as a regular one. However on the side of the box it explained that it was as powerful as a regular 2000W hairdryer so I thought I can't go wrong with a hair dryer for £7.99 rather than £17.99.
***What do I think of the shape and colour of the hair dryer?***
Well it is quite nice to have a white and green hair dryer rather than my previous boring black one, and the picture for this review is actually slightly misleading. The nozzle of the hairdryer is green like the end of it, not black and the lead to the plug is white, not black.
The shape is great and it has 2 heat settings and 2 power settings. It also has an extra power button if required (I thought it was what other hair dryers have, a button to cool it down, however this one just blasted more air out, so whether it is a fault with it or not, I don't know- but I like it anyway). It also has a long lead to the plug which is great so I can pull it all the way to my long mirror.
I love this hair dryer and because it was so cheap I don't mind about the slight fault I find with it every now and again (occasionally I have to switch it on and off a couple of times to get it to go- not at the plug but on the hair dryer) switch). But for 7.99 you can't really go wrong, even if you keep it as a spare in case your regular hair dryer breaks, it is excellent value for money!
