I love the fact that this dryer (rrp £49.99) is relatively quiet and has a good range of heat settings, as well as cool shot, in effect you have 6 different levels of heat as there is a button on the rear of the dryer that lowers the three heat levels which are adjustable from the front. There are three different speeds. I find that the dryer handles well in the hand, although the dryer end is a bit hard to take on and off - the diffuser attachment can be put on and off much more easily and works well.
Out of the box it does take a little while to work out how to use the various settings (you will need to read the instructions carefully and play with everything as it's not necessarily intuitive at first), but everything is intelligently laid out, and it has some good features, like a swivel attachment to the body of the dryer, and a solid mesh protection at its rear.
I have been using this dryer extensively for over a couple of months now after my previous, cheaper, dryer finally gave up the ghost. I think that the build quality is good too, although I wouldn't be happy to pay the full asking price, I've seen it for sale at the £30 mark, which seems reasonable to me. I'm not really sure what difference the ion setting (which can be easily turned on and off) makes, other than providing you with a pretty light, but at 2200 watts it dries quickly and well. The only downside to this dryer is the cord length, at 2m it really seems a little mean, and when drying my daughters' hair I struggle a little. I do actually think that the results this dryer give are pretty good, it does seem to leave the hair shiny and not overheated or damaged. Storage wise the barrel is a bit broader than the norm at one end, so it takes up quite a lot of space, however bar the silly cord length I can't really fault it - and trust me I've tried and failed to like more dryers than I care to remember!
Overall I would recommend this hair dryer, bar the cord length it's a quality affair.
