“ Brand: Morphy Richards / Type: Hair dryer / Features: Retro look / Power: 1800W „
I was given this hairdryer as a gift from my Grandma who won it at a raffle! I was attrached to the gorgeous cream and pink retro design as I love anything vintage.
It's quite a large and heavy hairdryer, but I guess this goes with the look of it!
It has different settings for cool and rapid hair drying, and is really easy to use. I have usually frizzy hair (with all the dying I do!) and sometimes find that hair dryers make this a lot worse. I was really pleased with how this dryed my hair without leaving it feeling frizzy and dry as this isn't ionic. I felt it gave quite a lot of volume as well as it has a really good blow!
I really enjoyed this hair dryer and only replaced it a few years after with an ionic one when it broke - such a shame as it was a lovely hair dryer!
I purchased the Morphy Richards headgear hairdryer over 3 years for an X Catalogue shop for the inexpensive price of £9.99. I was firstly attracted to the retro looking design. The main colour is cream and it has a pink stripe up the side and the 'Morphy Richards Headgear' logo in black small print near the nozzle. It looks very 50-60's and is pleasing on the eye. I felt the price tag was very good as I believe Morphy Richards is a trusted brand and very reliable.
Like most hair dryers it has a removable nozzle to help with blow drying. It was a long grey wire meaning you can move around when drying your hair. This is handy as I like to sit on my bed whilst drying my hair, but I can still walk over to my mirror withouth the plug coming out of the wall.
There are 2 heat settings medium and high and 2 speeds low and fast. I always use medium heat on the fast setting as from my past experience, if you use the fast and high settings the hairdryer will blow itself out after 30-60 seconds. This causes major problems as it will take around 30 minutes before you can use it again. I find the medium heta is perfect anyway for drying hair as the hot \i believe will cause more damage. This is the only flaw with this hair dryer.
There is a cold button on the hair dryer byt i never use this. I've read that it is meant to set your style or send ions to smooth your hair. I find this a load of rubbish as i've tried it loads of times and my hair looks and feels no different. It's probably just a gadget they stick on to try and get people to buy it.
Overall, for £9.99 this product has been a bargain. It does exactly what it says in drying hair and the attractive retro look just adds to the appeal. I have had it over 2 years and it is going strong. The only issue is that it overheats. It is also very durable as I have dropped mine onto laminate flooring on more than one occassion and it has never been damaged. I would recommend this product to anyone.
