I bought this hairdryer a few months back as i though it was just what i needed. I had never even heard of a retractable hairdryer before, so was amazed when i stumbled across this innovative idea.
I bought my hairdryer for a little over £20 from a larger Boots store. It was bought for one reason only, to take on holiday, not to replace my tried, tested and much loved hairdryer at home. Compared to my other hair dryer, this one is very small in size and it's design is very basic. The lay out is simple with only two standard heat/ speed settings to choose from. There is also a 'cold shot of air' button which is easily located. It doesn't weigh much at all and is light weight to use. Even better for my hols!
Now for it's claim to fame! The retractable cord! At first i was very impressed, what a wonderful idea, if the cord goes back into the actual hairdryer it saves all that space in my suitcase, as well as cluttering up my drawer with unecessary flex. Ingenious? In some ways yes, but the first time i zoomed the cord in it nearly had my eye out! The cord flies back into the hair dryer with such force that the plug will take the odd thumb, finger, knuckle with it on the way! This is something to be aware of, as it isn't what you expect the first time of using. Still, it has to be said that it solves the problem of tangled flexes, which should in theory add longer life span to the hair dryer. The cord itself is not very lengthy though, probably because of this design, which can cause real problems for those of us who haven't got a plug socket next to their mirror.
My hair dryer came with no accesories or add ons. This is no real pain for basic drying but almost impossible to use for styling. I feel this is a real flaw in it's design as many people would find a hairdryer with out accessories quite pointless! It was at this point that i realised that i was going to have to pack my straighteners as well, saving me no space in my suit case and actually causing more baggage(grrr!!).
I don't think i would recommend this to anyone and knowing what i know now, i certainly would have put my 20 quid to better use. Nevermind, you live and learn. Can't help but think that it's shame this didn't work out, with a bit more thought this hairdryer could have been a very clever design.

The Revlon 1902 Retractable hairdryer is a relatively compact silver creation that looks great and comes with the welcome feature of a rewinding cord. It has two different heat/speed settings as well as a cool shot button. The hairdryer comes with a two year guarentee as well as an info-sheet telling you how to use it best for curly, natural-looking and smooth styles. It also has some cautions on it - I'd advise you to note the one about the retracting cord. It's a wonderful feature, but do hold onto the plug when you hit the 'retract' button or it can be a bit violent. Also included is a concentrator nozzle "for extra smooth styling", but other than that, there are no attachments supplied. However, for the price, what do you expect? At around £19, this lightweight yet powerful hairdryer makes the perfect treat for yourself or present for a friend. Well worth buying.
I needed a new hairdryer, I found it hard to decide which one to buy as there is so many different ones on the market today. I eventually decided to buy a Revlon 9102, retractable hairdryer, the thing that made me buy this particular one is it has a cord rewind. I keep mine in the kitchen drawer and always find the cord gets tangled around other things in the drawer. I decided on this because at the touch of a button the cord is rewound into the handle, and it has different heat settings and two speed settings. I find it a very good basic hairdryer, and with a price at around nineteen pounds I think it is a good value for money hairdryer.
Have you ever tripped over the flex on your hairdryer, i have. (i know, i should have looked where i was going!) This hairdryer is the bomb, and why other manufacturers haven't used this idea from vacuum cleaners in the past i have no idea. Basically it's a decent powerful machine - 1600w, it has two speeds, slow and fast, it has a 'cool shot' which means that if you have loads of hair which takes you ages to dry, use this little button to cool your head off. But the best bit is that the cord retracts into the hairdryer itself! just by pressing another little button - what an amazing idea, no more wrapping the cord around, and no more tripping! For 19 quid, if you need a no nonsense new hairdryer, i would look at getting this one. It is really lightweight and it comes with a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee. It looks quite special too.
