I have only ever had two hair dryers as I find they last several years as I only use them once a week. By the time my hair dryer breaks and needs replacing they no longer manufacture the same one and I have to choose something different. My previous hair dryer was babyliss however I'm not fussy about the brand name if its a good hair dryer and a great price. I purchased the tresemme lightweigh AC 2000 dryer online for £29.99. I have used most of the tresemme hair care range and have been pleased with the result so thought the hair dryer would be as good. The hair dryer has 2 heat and 2 speed settings which I don't really like. I am used to having 3 as I find just have the two means it is either really hot or cold and really fast blowing or slow. I find having 3 speeds and heats gives more of a balance and I always used the middle one. Although it says it is lightweight I found it was just as heavy as previous ones I have had. I didn't buy it for that reason however I think if people were wanted a really light hair dryer they would be disappointed purchasing this one. It does come with a nozzle to attach for faster drying although I haven't used it so I'm not sure if this claim is true. The cord is much longer than I need which means I can plug it in any where in my room and still walk over to the mirror. Apart from just having the two settings this is a good hair dryer for me. I only use it once a week as I like to let my hair dry naturally when possible and I haven't had any problems with it. It is a very simple and cheap hair dryer so is great for people who don't want to spend a fortune on a hair-dryer they rarely use.
I am a frequent visitor at my Mum and Dad's house and as they are now 88 and 89 I always try to stay as long as I can. In the summer I can get away with letting my extremely thick hair dry naturally but now that the weather is cooler my Dad has very kindly bought a new Tresseme Hairdryer for me to use. This is definitely a no nonsense and efficient dryer. It is completely black in colour, mostly matt black with a couple of shiny bits on the body. It is a nice sleek shape with an easy to grip handle and the longest flex I have ever seen on a hairdryer being at least two metres long so you can wander around whilst drying your hair if that is your wish! I find that although the hairdryer is quite heavy and belies it's description as lightweight, it is well balanced and does not make my arm ache but I do have short hair. I'm sure that there are others that are lighter but as effective. On the handle are two rocker switches which are very easy to operate with your thumb. The higher one has two settings and controls the heat, hot and even hotter! The second lower switch has three settings, off, moderately strong stream of air and thirdly blow your ears off your head! I, being a wuss hardly never use the strong setting. There is also a cold button marked with a little snowflake which you can depress whilst drying which gives cool air to help set your crowning glory. The nozzle is round and nearly 2 inches wide giving a large volume of air, Tresseme also supply you with a narrow nozzle which one attached by an easy push on to the nozzle gives you more control over the direction of the stream of air. My Opinion. It certainly is strong, maybe too strong. I used this after washing my Mum's hair for her and nearly blew her out of the chair! If you want something for a thatch like mine , this is the one but for those with more delicate hair, I would choose another brand. This is currently selling for around 25 pounds which is pretty good value for a powerful hairdryer. 4 out of 5 stars from me. Thanks for reading my review which may also be posted on Ciao under
When I first picked it up I was surpassed how light it was compared to other hairdryers! It means there's no arm ache after drying for about 20 minutes like I have to (I know, I'm weak). My first reaction when I switched it on was that it didn't seam as powerful as my previous hairdryer, however I looked at the info for the other dryer and they were both the same power. It was only because it was so light that it seemed like that.
Hi there everybody I purchased this blow dryer sometime last year for £30 and still use it until this day. it works great dries my frizzy curly hair really quickly, in under 20 minutes so love this blow dryer. It is not too heavy to hold in your hand and due to the fact that it dries your hair rather quickly, you wont be holding it for to long. It has different heat settings and also a cool setting, which I use to set my hair when styling. Mine came with different attachments which is perfect for different hairstyles. This isn't a high end blow dryer but works just as well as them. It is really great value for money, which is good for if your on a tight budget. The only downside is that it is rather loud which can be an issue to some people, but doesn't really bother me that much.
I am constantly washing my hair, and in Northern Ireland, it is not warm enough to allow it to dry naturally (it would take ages and I have no patience), so it is important to keep a hair dryer handy. I have been using this TRESemme hair dryer for just over a year and I love it. The Hair Dryer I really like this hair dryer, it is lightweight and very comfortable to hold and manage. I have quite a lot of hair at the moment, as I have been growing it, but I have found that this hair dryer has enough power in it to blast my hair dry quite quickly. I use heat damage protection spray (the Toni and Guy one at the moment) and haven't had any problems with heat damage on my hair. You can adjust the speed and temperature that comes from this hair dryer, there are 3 speeds and a cold button, for when you are looking cooler air to flow. This hair dryer came with two different attachments, a small narrow one for blow drying and a diffuser that helps great waves and volume. Mine also came with 2 TRESemme styling clips to help me part and section my hair when I am blow drying it. I think that this is a very good quality hair dryer, it looks the part and is quite sleek looking and black in colour which looks quite stylish in my bedroom. It is mid-sized, easily stored and reminds me of the hair dryers that are used in the salon (probably due to being part of the TRESemme brand. Price and Availability I bought this hair dryer last year for around £25. So far I have had no problems with it and it has been really reliable. I think that this is a great price for such a powerful hair dryer, and if mind were to break, I would definitely re purchase it again. Overall I think that this is a great hair dryer, it is quick, comes with all the attachments that I need for home styling, looks the part and won't break the bank. I would definitely recommend that you keep an eye out for it if you are in need of a new hair dryer. Overall I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars. *also on ciao under lorrainek90
I have only one niggle with this hair dryer and that is the fact that while it claims to be lightweight I actually found it to be heavier than I expected it to be. It is not overly heavy but I think that sticking the word lightweight in the product details is a little misleading as it was not as comfortable to operate as i expected especially as I have long hair which is why I wanted a powerful hair dryer that did not weigh a ton. Priced at around the £25 mark it does represent very reasonable value and it has a n umber of nice features such as a cold shot button and also a really long chord which is always an advantage in my opinion. It is black in colour with quite a long tapered mainly rubber handle and a tapered main body as well, nice and curvy it is well balanced however a little heavier to hold than I expected it to be. It has a dual heat and dual speed setting on a simple switch control which are easy to operate even while in use. It is certainly very effective at drying my hair and allowing it to be styled, the 2000w power supply is plenty and the fact that you can target the heat in a very direct way due to the nozzle also helps speed up the drying process. I certainly like the power that this hair dryer provides and the two speed options are certainly enough to meet my needs, the slower setting is ideal for styling and provides a nice steady flow of air to my hair. The higher speed setting does give a good blast and this is ideal when my hair is very damp as it really gets to the roots and underside of my hair. In terms of performance I can find no fault with this hairdryer, as I mentioned at the start of my review the only issue I have is that it is a little heavier than I expected however this does not stop me recommending it and after about five months of use it is still going strong.
I received this hairdryer for Christmas and I am so pleased with it! The 'power' is a good advantage because it doesn't take as long to dry in the morning which means extra time in bed. Win. Another good point about this dryer is the attachments which came with it. There's a nozzle which is great for kinda like precision drying like drying your hair a certain way. There's also a diffuser which comes with it too, however due to my hair never co-operating, I have not used this part yet guys - sorry. However, if it's anything like the rest of the product I'm sure it'll be fabulous. :) The chord is quite long too, so I can swing about in my room without worrying I'll pull the plug out. The switches are so easy to use, which I've seen has been a problem among other reviewers, but so far I've had no problems. I love the 'cool' function, which protects from frizz. Overall a fab hairdryer, would recommend to anyone. It also has some volume lotion in the box too, which I find really works, gives hair that extra 'poof'!
I like this hairdryer as it is lightweight and easy to handle. It is easy to use and the switches are not stiff to press like some hairdryers so it make life easier. The chord is much longer than my last dryer so I no longer have to crick my neck when drring my hair in the mirror. The chord itself must be at least 0.3 of a metre and this has proved incrediblly useful. The controls are easy adjustustable and it has both two speed settings and two heat settings which I like. It seems a good quality product given it comes with a 5-year guarantee. Its a powerful little gadget and booms out heat at 2000w so its pretty fast. It also has a cold setting which can be very useful. Overall I'm please with the purchase although I was surprised at the amount of packaging it came in, which to me did seem somewaht of a waste
I recently got very frustrated with my lightweight Boots hairdryer (which I reviewed last year), as I was finding the switches within the handle of the dryer a bit stiff and increasingly hard for me to shift from one position to another. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, and have problems with my wrists and hands - they are not as strong as they used to be and can become very painful if they are worked too hard. Even using a can opener is beyond me some days. So I decided to look around for an alternative. I needed one that would be lightweight, and that would have switches that would be easier for my hands to use. As poor health means that I can't often get out to the high street shops, I took a look online, and eventually decided to buy the Tresemme Salon Professional Lightweight AC 2000 Dryer. I really thought it looked very promising - lightweight, with an extra-long cord, a removable filter for cleaning, 2 heat and 2 speed settings that were on rocker switches (much easier for me to use), and a cold shot button - which is something I had not had with my other hairdryer. Having made my decision, I bought this hairdryer from Amazon, where I paid £24.89 plus £1.75 delivery. It was supplied by OneClickPharmacy. Although my hairdryer took longer to arrive than I had expected, I believe it was only just a day or so after the delivery estimated by OneClickPharmacy. I was very excited, and unpacked my new hairdryer straight away. I was so disappointed when I got it out and find that rather than being lightweight, as promised by its name, it was actually very much heavier than my old hairdryer. I anticipated that I might have problems with this - because of the Fibromyalgia, I suffer from quite a lot of pain in the muscles of my arm. However, I was delighted with all the other features of the hairdryer, and decided that I needed to give it a go. It has a very long cord, which means that I had no problems reaching my dressing table from the plug at the side of my bed. I've just measured the cord, and it's about 115 inches long. The rocker controls are easy to adjust, providing the 2 heat and 2 speed settings, I really appreciate the cool shot button, and there is a removable filter for easy cleaning. The hairdryer comes with a 5-year guarantee. If it were not for the fact that the hairdryer is too heavy for me to hold comfortably for any length of time, I would have been absolutely delighted with my purchase. The 2000w gives a fast drying result (although it's a bit noisy), and the dryer has what the product leaflet describes as a 'Fast dry concentrator nozzle'. This nozzle is 3" long, as opposed to my little Boots hairdryer, where the nozzle is 4.5" long, and is much narrower than my Boots version. I love the long cord - I think it's the longest I've ever seen on a home dryer. The two rocker switches, for heat and speed settings, are set in the left-hand side of the base of the dryer, making them easier to reach with your thumb (as long as you are right-handed!). The lower switch is the on/off switch, and this also provides the two speed settings. The upper switch provides the two heat settings. The cold shot button is situated in the centre of the barrel, just beneath the dryer nozzle. The heat is sent through a ceramic grille, which promises even heat distribution. Most of the dryer - and most of the handle - is rubberized, which makes it easy to grip. The hairdryer comes packaged in a large box, which is black with a swirly green design representing the Tresemme brand. The front of the box has a clear photograph of the dryer, along with a boxed logo stating 'Tresemme Used By Professionals'. At the base of the box is the following information: 'Salon Professional Lightweight AC 2000' and beneath that: '2000W; Professional motor with high power airflow; Ionic to fight frizz; Salon length cord.' One side of this box describes the Tresemme philosophy. 'From our origins in salons, we have always been driven by a simple truth; every woman deserves to look fabulous without spending a fortune. Tresemme is dedicated to creating hair care and styling products that are salon quality without the salon price. Salon inspired, stylist tested products to help you create your own style and experience that salon feeling every day. Professional, Affordable.' The other side of the box suggests that you use Tresemme's Heat Defence Styling Spray. After unpacking your hairdryer, you are presented with a leaflet describing the product and giving instructions for use, as well as some Safety Cautions. You must not use this appliance in the bathroom or near water contained in basins, bathtubs or other vessels. You should never look directly into the barrel of the hairdryer when it is switched on. Before use, you should inspect the appliance for noticeable signs of damage, and if so, do not use - also do not use if the appliance has been dropped. This hairdryer is equipped with a safety thermostat, so in the event of overheating the appliance will stop automatically. If this does happen, you should push the switch on the handle to the 'off' position, unplug and allow to cool for ten minutes. Apart from my real problems with the weight of this hairdryer, I loved it. It is more powerful than my previous model and so my hair dries more quickly. The leaflet provided recommends that you use the high heat and high speed setting for rough drying, then use the low heat and low speed setting once you begin to style your hair. Finally, use the cold shot to 'set' your style. The dryer has an ion generator, which helps keep hair shiny, smooth and manageable. My hair doesn't suffer from any frizziness, so it was a bit hard to tell what the benefits of the ionic technology were, but my hair certainly looked nice and smooth, and it also had plenty of what I consider to be much-needed volume. I like my short style to look full and bouncy rather than limp and flat. The leaflet also contains hints and tips about which products you might like to use, and also about the best way to go about styling your hair. There is a 'Care and Maintenance' section, which tells you how to keep your hairdryer in the best possible condition. You are also given information about wiring instructions, the 5-year guarantee (UK only), and contact details for UK After Sales Service. You are advised to retain this leaflet for further reference. I paid £24.89 plus £1.75 delivery from Amazon, and the product was supplied by OneClickPharmacy. Prices and delivery costs seem to vary from day to day; it is currently £26.95 with free delivery. This hairdryer can be found in Boots and other high street stores, as well as online outlets. The prices I found online today were: Amazon £27.30 with free UK delivery; Boots £22.99; Argos £22.38; and Tesco £28.47. There is one today (7th November) on eBay, from a top-rated seller, for £11.99 plus £4.90 delivery. Looking around other websites, most reviews of this hairdryer seem generally positive, although there are quite a few reviewers who agree with me that this hairdryer is not at all lightweight. In fact I found a few tips about dryers that really are lightweight. However, I will not be buying my next hairdryer online - in order to be sure that I really get what I want, I need to get to the shops and test for myself both the weight and how easy the switches are to use. I have written to Tresemme, expressing my concerns over the heavy weight of this supposedly lightweight hairdryer, and if I get a response I will update my review. To sum up, I think this is overall a high quality hairdryer - it has excellent features, but it does not live up to its 'lightweight' claim - in fact I think it is really quite heavy. So I am giving it four stars, deducting one because of that. However, it really doesn't deliver the one quality I wanted above all others, and for me the frustration is that I'm not just disappointed. I've wasted my money. And I'm also in quite a lot of pain. Later (28th November): After contacting Tresemme, they kindly agreed to exchange the 5544U for their Diffuser Dryer 2200, 5543U, which really is lightweight. It arrived yesterday and I used it this morning. It's just what I wanted, so many thanks to Tresemme. Also, many thanks to my mum, who in the meantime had come to my rescue (and my wrist's rescue) with a spare travel dryer. (This review is also on Ciao, under the same user name.)
