The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream for Men
by Amnesia180
I decided to first try The Body Shop Maca Root Shaving Cream when it was on offer, at £8 (approximately) I thought it was expensive but because it was on offer I decided to give it a go.
Most "normal" shaving creams have a scent, this one doesn't. It doesn't look or smell particularly appealing, but that is great if ... you want to apply your own cologne or aftershave without causing a contrast in scent.
I used a cheap Wilkinsons shaving brush (approximately £1) and I must say, this cream lathered extremely well. It is very forgiving that if you can add small touches of water when you need to.
I leave the cream to soak into my face and really soften that stubble.
I did not change anything else in my shaving routine (such as razor, or preparation). The shave was very close!
My skin didn't feel drive, or sensitive. There was no burning sensation that I often get from scented shaving creams and most of all, my skin was actually soft afterwards.
I have since changed to a Double Edge Razor and again, there are huge improvements to my overall shave.
There are more expensive shaving creams out there, but if you are looking for something to change and improve your routine, I would highly recommend this shaving cream. Read the complete review |

The Body Shop Sugaring Kit
by hanlovesjames
Sugaring is a pretty old method of hair removal believed to have been used s early as 1900BC in Egypt - clearly it as a tried and tested method. The mystery to me is why are there not more sugaring products available on the highstreet???
The body shop offers all the materials you require for sugaring - the sugar/syrup, ... spatula, and fairtrade cotton strips. All of this should cost about £12.
The syrup can be reheated in the pot it comes in which means less mess and less waste, plus the strips and patula are cleaned very easily and the syrup is water soluble. This is therefore great news to rinse of any residue (something you cannot do with wax) and also if you get scared and want to take it off the easy way!
It is very important that you don't over heat the sugar (I always use a microwave) as it will not only BURN but may also denature the syrup and make it useless.
The procedure is very much like any home waxing kit but i recommend you check out the pack instructions before use and ask you body shop assistant if you have any questions - they're always happy to help!
As i still haven't quite got the hang of the technique yet I don't get the smoothest results but I will persevere as it is much less painful than waxing and when I do have success hair growth is much more delayed than shaving and I have no nasty reactions!

The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream for Men
by Mh321
I have tried many shaving creams, i tried this one as i found the maca root face wash excellent, so why not give this maca root product a go. Its nearly always on 3 for 2, so your get good value for money.
The product bursts into large amounts of lather in my shaving bowl when whipped up with my badger brush, and goes on ... leaving a slick, cushioned layer. It has an unusual smell, which i have grow very fond of with continued use. Superbly slippery whilst using my double-edge razor, this cream is guaranteed to give you a moisturising and nick-free shave.
I have very sensitive skin, so shaving can be painful at the best of times. I have found this product leaves my skin feeling rejuvinated, hydrated and free from rashes and never sore. As long as this product is out there i will swear by it.
A wonderful product, especially if you have sensitive skin. Check out the whole "Maca Root" range that body shop offers for skincare. I use most of them and have never been dissapointed with any! Read the complete review |
