I first bought this a few months ago after seeing it on a good offer in the Avon rep's brochure. I'd previously tried other Skin So Soft products and knew that they were quite reliable so thought I'd give it a try.

The product comes in a long pearlescent white tube with the Skin So Soft logo on the front, and the product information and directions for use in small writing on the back. The tube contains 150ml.

The shave gel is a dark blue colour which reminds me of the gel stripe that you find in some toothpastes. It's quite a thin gel, and I've found that it comes out of the tube really quickly if you put just the slightest pressure on it. The tube stands on the lid, meaning that it is already near the opening and making it easy to use all of the gel with no waste.

Before buying this, I didn't bother with shave gels and just used to shave using a lather of shower gel. I didn't realise what a difference this would make and now having tried it, I would hate to go back to how I did it before. A little bit goes a long way and although the gel feels thin in your hand, it creates a sort of extra layer over skin so that when you shave your skin is really protected and the razor glides over it with no trouble. Although it's blue in colour, when it is spread over your skin it is transparent so you can see what you're doing, unlike with foam from soap. I would definitely recommend this.

This shaving gel is not cheap at £4.80, but as with most Avon products it can normally be found on some sort of offer and is well worth getting when it is.
