Bliss hair minimizing milk to keep the fuzz at bay between waxing and shaving

I have been testing beauty products for a website now for a good few months and I am really enjoying it. For once I am not using anything at all by Lush to wash in, bathe in, scrub myself with, wash my hair with or use as a facemask. Instead what I have is a goodie bag full of goodies.

One of those goodies was the 'Bliss get out of hair 3 in 1 hair magically minimizing moisture milk" which as it states is a hair-minimizing body lotion to be used in between waxing and shaving. It comes in a rather striking ice blue coloured tube with the product name written in a much deeper purple looking colour. The tube which contains 177ml is also a flip top lid which makes it much easier to use, store and stand on any bathroom shelf or dressing table given that it has a sturdy bottom to stand on.

I have to admit I have not used a Bliss product before, I have seen them on sale in places like Selfridges but have always been put off by the price tag, this product alone would cost in the region of £27 which if it didn't work but I did chuckle at a few of the names given to their products such as 'Fat Girl Slim' and 'Spiff Upper Lip' but I have never been inclined to buy one of their products and try them. So being sent one to test and review for a website made my day.

The Bliss range was born in 1996 in a spa in New York and now over ten years and 9 Spa's later the range has grown from one or two products which became highly sought after to an entire range consisting of skin care products, bath and body products, hair removal and body waxing, fitness footwear, makeup and hair care to name but a few of them. Here in the United Kingdom you can find Bliss products in places like Harrods, Harvey Nicks, Selfridges, Sephora and Boots. The prices of each product is much more than you are likely to pay for a high street brand with a body scrub costing around £27 a tub.

Bliss Get our of hair as I have said is a moisturising milk which has been designed for using after waxing or shaving your armpits, legs and bikini line or as it is delicately written on the tube "shaved body areas below the neck and for external use only". Naturally Bliss recommend their own waxing kits as being the preferred choice of hair removal, but given that the product they recommend is currently £57 I think I will stick to more traditional and known methods of doing it. So having done the deed (removing the hair get your mind out of the gutter) I read the back of the tube to find the instructions were quite sketchy other than telling me to apply and massage it liberally to said areas. So having removed the silver seal which kept the product fresh, I then gently squeezed the tube into the palm of my hand. What surprised me the most is that given it is minimizing milk I expected the contents to be quite runny, instead the cream was quite thick in texture, similar to that of Cocoa Butter. So having applied it to my legs quite liberally I found that it was not only easy to apply but that it absorbed itself into my skin very quickly and all it left behind was soft smooth legs. Having just waxed my legs they were slightly tender as they always are but this cream didn't sting or irritate, if anything I found it to be quite soothing.

The idea behind this product is that it slows down your hair or fuzz growth between shaving whilst trying to ensure any irritations which would normally occur are also kept to a minimum at the same time. For those people who shave their legs, clearly the hair grows back at a much quicker rate than it does do if you wax, so I have no idea how well it works, but following the instructions to use it once or twice daily, which at first did seem a little obsessive to apply it twice a day but I was delighted to find the smoothness of my skin continued and the visible fuzz this cream is supposed to keep at bay actually did. I would usually wax my legs every 4 weeks as soon as the hair was long enough but having used this cream, I found that I didn't need to do it for 6 weeks because the hair grew back much more slowly than I had anticipated. So I was not only delighted but at the same time surprised it actually work because my previous attempts with similar products have always failed miserably.

There are three main ingredients with this product. As well as including vitamins C, E and A which keep your skin soft, smooth, moisturised and nourished there is also Shea butter which has brilliant moisturising benefits for the skin and finally willow bark which is an exfoliant and it helps to remove dead skin cells from your body. All of those ingredients together along with Bliss' very own secrecy of Fuzzkill work together to keep your legs or wherever you use it soft, smooth and very moisturised especially if you do continue to use it on a daily basis, although I am not saying if you stop you suddenly become a wooly mammoth. Smell wise, well the Shea butter is the main overriding smell for me, it is a little lighter than that of Cocoa butter but the smell is slightly similar, so it is very pleasant and thankfully it doesn't have that horrid hair removal cream smell which lingers like a bad smell.

I have now been using this product for 10 weeks and in that time I have continued to use it twice a day and my legs have remained soft and smooth and the time between waxing has become longer as I previouly mentioned. it does what it says it will do by keeping fuzz to a minimum but I have only used it on my legs as that was the task set to me, so whether it works as well on the bikini line or underarm I am not so sure. It also moisturises and smooths the skin which is another tick in the right box, but at £27 I am not too sure whether or not I would happily pay for the it in a shop, whilst I am testing it I am more than happy to use it. I may however change my mind once the tube I am currently using runs out, in those ten weeks I have used more than half of the tube because I use it once a day three times a week and twice a day four times a week, again as per the instructions I have been given. In the meantime, I am undecided as to whether or not I would buy it again.
