Boots Slanted Tweezers
Advantages: Grips coarse/fine hair equally well.
Disadvantages: If placed in its pouch or case then none.
After reading the 12 reviews on this product here I decided to go and buy one. The last tweezer I bought was £8 it did the job and I had disbelief that at £1.80 from Boots it would just as good if not better.
Fairly easy to locate on the Boots 'eye care/nail care' aisle, a plain grey plastic pouch with the small Boots blue logo on the top left. Beneath it are the words in white and capitaled "slanted tweezers". As said, it was £1.80, plain & cheap looking. The pouch itself is made of recycled plastic but isn't currently recycled, am not sure how a product can be made of recycled materials but cannot be further recycled :/
A simple stainless steel slanted edged tweezers are visable from the clear front of the pouch, the information on the back informs you the tweezer was made in China, but doesn't state whereabouts, I think it would be terribly fascinating to see what products came from where and whether varied products are all made in the same place or from different places - however I digress.
The tweezer edge feels abrasive and rough, it has a tiny little clear plastic/rubber band to close the tweezer, I lost it as soon as I removed it and placed it on the seat next to me, I am not sure if the wind blew the flimsy little thing away or because it was clear it's difficult to observe its whereabouts even if it was right in front of me.
A marvellous thing of beauty. It's plain with grip ridges on both sides for better grip with your fingers, the edges on the slants grips coarse and fine hairs equally well, some finer hairs had to be attempted maybe twice or thrice but it doesn't detract the all purpose usefulness of the tweezers.
I will never snigger at cheap products again unless I have truly tried and tested it. There was a Bobbi Brown tweezer on the next aisle selling for £22, that's £20.20 saved already. I wholly recommend this little product, be advised it pays to retain the plastic pouch or keep the tweezer in a case etc, as it's very sharp and abrasive, it can damage scarf or lining in the bag.
A very cheap but functional tool to have.
