      A Great Cost Effective Way To Wax

      I have also considered myself lucky in the fact that I have very thick hair on my head! The downside is that I also have very thick hair in other places! And I must have spent a fortune on hair removal creams and salon treatments.

      I was browsing in home bargains and saw the Derma Logic hair removal strips on sale for just 99p and thought I would give them a try and if they did not work I had only lost 99p

      ======The Strips=====

      The Derma logic strips are in a small box and hold 10 strips and it states on the box that they are suitable for all skin types

      When I opened the box and took a strip out your greeted with what looks like an opaque edible paper! And in the middle is the green strip of wax, there is a good size border for you to able to get a good grip on which is needed for removing the strips. Each strip is actually two stuck together on the wax side so in fact there are 20 strips all together.

      The box does include full instruction but basically they are to make sure that the skin where the hair is to be removed is clean and free from any body lotion or perfume or grease, If you are a little greasy just apply a fine layer of talcum powder.

      I had assumed that the strips were of the cold variety but no you do need to warm them and the special method is your hands! No really that is all, just place the strip between your palms and gently rub for about 30 seconds.

      ====Application ====

      Once warmed you then need to gently pull the two strips apart and place one to the side, apply the wax strip to the area you want to remove the hair, the important bit is that you apply in the direction of your hair growth and smooth it down with your hand. Now holding the skin tight just underneath where you are going to remove the hair pull back the strip, it is really important to do this in one move and to keep the strip as close as possible to the skin as this will give you the best results.

      =====Results====

      I was pleased to note that the strip came away easily and was not as painful as some salon waxing treatments that I have had although this does depend on where you are removing the hair as obviously some areas are more sensitive than others!

      I noticed that my skin was red straight after removing but this is normal and occurs with most waxing treatments and does wear off, my skin did not feel irritated at all and all the hair was removed with only a few left that the wax had not pulled out.

      There was the odd spot where some of the wax remained on my skin but this came away easily with just a little bit of warm water.

      It does state on the box that the strips can be used several times but I have only used the same strip twice as the results are not as great.

      I have since bought the waxing strips a few more times and have always been pleased with the results and the long lasting effects and I now find that they keep my skin smooth and hair free for about 10 days, Please bare in mind though that when I shave my legs I need to do them everyday as I have rather fast growing hair!

        Well worth a try, if you're not a fan of shaving

        I've just this minute finished waxing my legs and bikini line! Just so you all know...

        These cost me £1.90 for 20 strips, from Wilkinson, which I thought was very reasonable. There are actually 10 double sided strips in there, with the bright green cold wax.

        To use, you have to first warm the wax strips between your hands, and separate them. Then, first ensuring skin is totally dry, you smooth them on in the direction of hair growth, and rip them off in the opposite direction. This is very painful on the legs! (But the bikini, which I was dreading, was fine.)

        I found the strips very easy to use, but there was not enough in the pack to do both legs and bikini line! I'd say you need nearly one pack per half leg (I wasn't going to bother with full leg, but still didn't manage), and two strips per bikini, but I might just be hairy, or my hairs may just be difficult. They left a very tiny amount of wax on my legs, but this was easily removed with a cotton wool ball soaked in baby oil, as suggested on the box.

        Overall, would definitely recommend. I only bought the one pack, so I'm sending my sister out to buy me two more packs tomorrow, so I can finish off!
