Advantages: Smooth, close shave, which rarely nicks the skin, comfortable and efficient

Disadvantages: Expensive, battery feature is not for me

I have tried numerous razors to get my legs feeling smooth and silky and nothing seems to work. The Gillette Venus is a little to delicate, in that hair only stays gone for a short amount of time before the dreaded prickles begin to appear. So, I decided perhaps it was time to experiment and so popped out and bought myself a pack of this brand 'Gillette Fusion Power Razor' to see if a 'men's razor' would be a little more sharp and keep the hair away for as long as possible.

I managed to buy one of these in my local supermarket for about £8 which is expensive compared to my usual feminine products, but well worth the money. Equally additional blades are expensive costing as much as £16! I find it a bit of a waste of money and so simply buy myself a whole new razor, perhaps a sign of my secret entrepreneurial skills, or even more likely a sign of my own laziness!

This razor is excellent. It glides effortlessly across the skin even in awkward to reach places such as the bend in my knee. Of course translating this to use by men would mean that it would also do the job in reaching areas such as the sideburns with precision effect. The razor does an great job at getting rid of all the hair, with its 5 blades that ensures total removal. As well as this, the cartridge features a 'truly innovative' precision trimmer which is basically a single blade at the back of the razor. To use it is simply a case of turning the razor over, as it then locks into place and is easy to use in tricky to reach regions. There is an efficient 'comfort guard' that lessens the chance of catching, which especially on the face is an understandably horrible feeling. Similarly, I have noticed much less catching on my legs when I use this razor, as it appears to float over my skin, leaving much less bumps. It allows for a particularly close shave which leaves your skin looking and feeling great.

An 'Enhanced Lubrastrip' is a green strip that slowly changes to white once the razor begins to lose effectiveness, as the aloe and Vitamin E within the strip wear off. This is an excellent feature even the most unobservant of us (like me!) will be aware when the razor has lost its effectiveness and know to change the blades or buy a new replacement.

By popping in a battery, the razor produces subtle micropulses which apparently reduce friction and help the razor to glide much more easily. In my personal opinion, this is a pretty pointless feature, and I prefer not to utilise it, by simply not adding a battery. However, if this sounds appealing to you a battery power indicator alerts you when the battery is running low which is a useful feature as you know when more power is needed. The manufacturer clearly cares for its customers and ensures top quality as well as convenience to the customer. It would have been easy to simply push out a new razor onto the market, like all the other ones on offer, but instead they have focused on their customers which is an admirable trait.

My boyfriend also has his own Gillette Fusion Power razor (in fact he was the one who recommended I get myself one after all my moaning!) and he also praises its effectiveness at giving him a clean, close shave. I can really notice the difference since he began using this, and his face is so much smoother and softer. I think it is the tell of a good product if not only it has two happy customers, but both a female and male happy customer, singing its praises despite different expectations from their products.

Summary: An excellent and effective razor that really does the job
